[UI] best way to make players happy!

instead of looks-only money-only updates, add MORE FREE MAPS

free maps being like 1/2/3-9, 6-1 thru 6-5. whichever. NOT A GATE

i recall when kuiper gate was released people complained about lack of new maps and support and admins said new gates are new maps, which isnt entirely wrong, but we need FREE maps.

gates are great but you have to build it first, and at the current 100/1 realistic part chances thats not a cheap map by any means. lots of uri or time, or AND.

so please, add new FREE maps. not gates, not decorations.

 

Sorry to say with the issues of diminished populations they are not going to give any attention to FREE players or changes to benefit them. Creating maps takes a ton of effort and would not be beneficial to anyone except those who really want to stand up and be singled out for slaughter in maps because they are the only people in the map. The fact that they have reduced the creation of gates with the recent PERCENTAGE OFF days (using Premium, Rebate, and Discount) you can save 60% plus can get a Kronos gate built in 1/2 the time (which is a FREE gate in itself). You want more maps get a group together and do the LoW Gate it is free and limits the people who are around you, granted it does not give any reward for completing it but it is essentially a PRIVATE map that can be done several times a week, if wanted.

It is like merging the servers there is a lot to be considered before doing it and adding NEW maps needs tons of income to make it beneficial to create NEW maps along with what NPC's would be in there? What would attract people to those maps? What special benefits would there be to going to these maps? It took almost a year for the addition of the last NEW set of maps, started with the NEW NPC's invading our maps, then an EVENT that made the new NPC's the target of ALL players, which then led to the addition of the NEW maps. The actual time line for the game was like 6 months but had been talked about for almost a year before it was actually set in motion.

 

i dont care about noob protection, i just want new places to be. not many games can go this long without new places to be or new things to do and not die, which is what this game is doing.

and there doesnt need to be an event for it, hell they could make it a suprise and just add the gates to jump in and we could go exploring

also, they dont need entirely new NPCs, they could put melters and other gate npcs in there. make it a cool mishmash of aliens maybe even slap in an emporer npc in there

 

Well I asked 3 questions that needed to be addressed in the first posting to get attention of community to be interested in this idea and explained what had been done the last time they added NEW Maps and get a rebuttal of stuff not addressed in my response (noob protection) and what you want but other than "not many games can go this long without new places to be" you have not given any reasons to add the new maps. The issue is they have added NEW maps/Gates since I started the game (2011 3 pirate maps, 2012-4 6 Galaxy Gates, and 2015 Kuiper Gate) not to mention the addition of gates available for Special Events, so essentially they are adding NEW maps just not for FREE or permanent or added reasons to travel to existing ones (Parasite Tide Event, Evil PET Event).

So again I ask;

• What would the attraction of these NEW maps be? Just to battle NPC's is not going to attract too many people
• What Special rewards would there be for going into them? Special Ore to be collected, Special abilities at a Base
• What story line would be added to Dark Orbit to include these maps? How are these introduced into the game

There is another thread requesting "FREE Weekly Galaxy Gates" which may be along the lines of what you are looking for. I did make suggestions of 3 different level gates to be implemented in that thread (which could be done on a weekly basis by all either as a group or solo) using NPC's as you suggest here, except did not include EMPEROR NPC's.

The Pirate maps were added and they have Palladium for exchange to EE spins, the 5-2 base (we get extra for selling ore there and the only place to exchange Palladium), and the NPC's that added the Booty Chests to the game, or the Uber map where the Uber and Boss NPC's fly around protecting each other and being an access point to the Pirate maps.

So to get D O to even think about your request please edit the O P to include the answers to the questions I am asking so people can agree with your idea or decide it is not needed.

 

theyre likely going to ignore this either way, and why are we supposed to do their job? i came up with the idea, posted the suggestion. they can figure out the details themselves.

 

New maps have constantly been asked for and those threads have always ended up getting closed due to spam. Please do your research before making threads.

 

You are right they will ignore it because you have not done anything except tell them what has been requested so many times before, more, more, more. But did not give them any direction to run in. If you make suggestions of what you would like to see and how they could incorporate it into their game they might be willing to devote time and energy into the idea. But to just say we want new maps or FREE gates without any assistance on how to get them into the story line or to get people interested in them is not going to make it happen.

 

Yeah they should put new maps and maybe put the kuiper aliens to it.

 

the story line isnt what made this game fun. hell back when people enjoyed it we didnt even know what the story line was. they need to bring this game back to fun
