  1. i was sitting here thinking the other day, so i figured i should write it down...

    i notice in global chat a lot
    players complain about the east coast server being dead. okay i admit.. it is. so why not make a new company, like mercury or some other planet?
    if we make a hype over the new company in the east server, im sure it will bring more new players to the game, there for make our server more active! ive herd rumors of servers merging with ours, and that seems exciting. how ever what about our levels and everything we have already achieved? sooo.... new company it is.... ideas..... suggestions???!?!

  2. You need sleep... But seriously, who knows. Technically the forth planet is Saturn, but you only see its inhabitants in the Kronos gate. A few merges, I don't care about the devs excuses, would help out those who are playing now. The mess that was joked about during the Twitch would not be a good idea but like all US servers or all GB servers would be good for business at hand, and then maybe if people came and saw there were "players" in the game, they would come play more. New players would see there is busy-ness in the game and do a longer initial check out.

  4. This idea is not a NEW idea. It has been suggested to deal with MCC occupation of the servers (new company created without maps as the MCC do not follow company lines anyway), there have been several requests for new maps to be added for more interesting play areas (adding new NPC's or incorporating GG NPC's to the game). The problem that has been brought up most is the imbalance of the game and the realization that without a major outlay of CASH you have a very long road to travel to become UFE (unlike the original FE which could be easily achieved in <6 months) but still had to work on your BIO to be truly FE class player, now with the UFE status you either farm Booty Chests (which requires CASH outlay) or farm Galaxy Gates (which is TEDIOUS collecting Pally or requires CASH outlay for EE days or Uridium) with no QUICK GUARANTEED path to follow to get there.

    Dead servers are because no one wants to assist the NEW players coming to the game and as they see they are on their own and can not defend against the UFE quit before they can really get started. NEW accounts are being created by UFE players so they can get some enjoyment out of the game by building another account or like PSK~SUNDANCE, who wants to see the game from another point of view (all credit equipped credit ships), because he is a glutton for punishment (LOL), or the cheaters hoping to get an account built without detection that is strong enough they can try to enjoy the game with it before it is banned for using cheats.

    We all know that D O is not willing to create the issues caused by merging servers (too many problems created by other BP games that did this), they are hoping WE as a community will leave the dead servers and allow them to be shut down instead of fighting to keep them all operating or generating populations like we used to have, returning balance to the game by adding some protections to the starter (lower) maps against UFE adding more maps that are PVE only and returning to an attitude of "HELPING OTHERS" are the real solutions to saving this game not merges of dead servers.

    Merges are not going to happen so lets stop wasting our time and breath trying to do this ¶ÅlîèñΩΗûñtërΦ, says it best "returning to an attitude of 'HELPING OTHERS'" is what is going to grow populations not merges of dead servers. It used to be very easy to set up a group of players to do certain quests now you can only get grouped up if HUNTING (PvP) or doing Hades Gate doing the same thing, last group I was in we were all in different maps doing different things (requested help doing an event quest, to get it done faster not that I needed the help). As it was I solo'd the quest even though I was in a group of 5 players.
     
  6. Okay, so you want to retain your ranks and levels, but you want to merge servers. Don't you think the people being pushed into this 4th company have the same desires? Merges cause chaos in all active level and ranking systems. There are several "Low Impact" methods of increasing populations of servers including the deleting of dead servers and having them "TRANSFER" their account to a more populated server. I suggested a solution to another thread of doing this and it has not had new input for almost a week. It suggested combining all servers into one SUPER server or making the Battle maps a combined server area, which would create a nightmare with connections and fluidity of the game.

    As others have stated the imbalance of the game is the issue and fixing this is the only way to fix the population issues that merging is asking to resolve. The biggest issue of the merge is the players enjoying the game on the dead server will not enjoy the busier server and quit playing and thus continue to degrade the populations of the servers causing even more servers to need to be merged.

    D O is doing the smartest thing with their dead servers, NOTHING, let them die from attrition and then shut them down for inactivity, you upset the fewest number of players, most have migrated to other servers on their own accord, THEY do not need to worry if the player has another account on the new server they might have merged them onto, and they don't need to worry about the ranks people have achieved changing because they did not do anything to effect them.

    MERGING servers are a FAIL/FAIL solution and need to stop being suggested as such.

    I really dont understand how creating a new company would do anything for a server.. it just spreads players out even more. Wouldnt bring new players in either theyd still face the same if they were in a different company
     
  8. Merging the servers will change the top user ranks of many, but it means nothing so why would anyone get upset about it? As far as company ranks, they wont change much because they are based off a % of company members. The way I see it rank is just an excuse that the cry babies are using to prevent more populated servers where they will be popped even more because they lack the desire to work to build their ship so they can hunt someday.

Most gens are gate basher and a lot of them have spend a lot of money and time to get there rank for it to be taken off them , and your half right the % is base on who gets what as there is only 1 gen per company 0.02% 3star and so on but people with those ranks could lose them to someone els, yeah is could happen anyways but losing to some one that moves and over takes them by 2mill rp would be the big deal.

    With every idea there is always people that get upset but ranking is not just the. only problem
    1:Ranking
    2:players names
    3:Clan tags

    Then others on top of that.

    And on another note another company would be good if after a merge the maps got a bit packed and as there was like 20 players to a port back in the old days i cant see it heading that way any time soon
     
  10. The fourth company would be the merged players of the old server who were enemies and now are co-patriots, which would not work well at all.

    The top user ranks is what some strive to be at the top of and having a merge causing them to lose #1 Top User would be enough to tick them off. And the issues are deeper then just the ranks and the system to calculate them, as was stated on the TWITCH feed other BP games have merged servers and had major ramifications from it and is why D O has opted to try other avenues before taking this path.

    It will never return to the people hanging on ports as the Advanced Jump Chip allows the enemy to enter a map anywhere, we sat on ports to protect maps from attack and now a person can jump in, attack, cloak, and jump out before we get the word they were even in the map, assuming anyone even cared about the enemy in the map to begin with.
     
  11. The bad thing is they used a lot of general statements during the TWITCH feed, like lots of ramifications, like we know what any of those were. So they had problems. What problems did they have. We have problems here also and get general, if any, answers whenever players voice them.

    The best answer that was given during the feed was about the game economy as how it applies to player dynamics. Players from various servers are used to playing a certain way. If the general game play is different on the different servers that are to be merged, it could take a while for players to adjust. This will have more of an impact on the company than on the players as we always have to adjust our game play. Do it or don't, just tell us if you are going to or not so we know.
     
  12. As stated in the TWITCH feed there was too much upheaval over the merges of the other games they did not get a positive reaction to the merges. Many reasons could be, Play style of server (PvE instead of PvP), helping newbs instead of killing everything in sight, F2P instead of full of Wallets, Company loyalty instead of MCC domination, these are just off the top of my head and we don't know if the games were even close to D O that got merged, but as they are part of B P they decided this avenue was not going to be the avenue to travel trying to resolve the server population issues.

    The TWITCH was a JOKE it discussed nothing and answered even less. It was closer to a scuttlebutt (waterfountain meeting) discussion than a discussion of what was going on in the game. We have more information from Okapi32 and his UNOFFICIAL thread than we got from TWITCH (by the way have they had a second one yet) and when you want to jest about removing the LF-4's tells me exactly how seriuos the feed was being taken.

  14. hmm well see thats what im pointing at i remember when there were atleast 3o people at the ports and when enemy came in maps, companies defended our maps. now there isnt as many active players so companies wars happen just to get kills. face it dark orbit is dying, and bp needs to listen to their customers, before its burred. i see atleast 5 people on on a good day... so what else do you think they should do to get more people?
     

  15. Easy bridge the gap between none fe/fe/ufe

    The % on upgrades is out of wack as noobs cant make enough uri to risk the %
    AJ CPU killed PVP get rid of it.

    Noob quest rewards are to low.

    All quest are ep massive.

    Event quest are aimed at players level 15 and up

    The bio is messed up it cost noob loads to kill an npc and half there shots miss because the lack the points for electro-optics

    The gab between fe and ufe is that big people don't wanna help new players because it takes that long to get ufe

    Hadez gate was a big fail as it gives lf4s and a lot of people do it for ranking and don't want to carry noobs and the lf4s are really rare to find in the gate

    Crafting system is taking to long as that would give noobs a boost

  16. This is what D O needs to figure out as even the UFE accounts are leaving the game. People who I have had contact with (TS3 and Game Chat) are no longer playing the game, these were the players buying Uridium every week had the Rebate Advantage, Premium, Doubler Advantage, and bought every NEW Item that was released and now they are gone, POOF, quit the game as they found it to be no longer fun or worth their investment of money or time. They even fealt the Events were not worth participating in because of the possessive attitude of those killing the main NPC of the event (too much PvP for what was supposed to be a PvE kill).

    The portal sitting is not happening anymore because the Advanced Jump Chip allows people to jump into any enemy map from anywhere in the normal maps (Pirate maps and G G's excluded). Even without the Portal Sitters we do not have the players in the Company Chat to respond to requests for defenders to help the newbs as they are all in the Global Chat talking to everyone in there.

    The gap to bridge is the FE/UFE status. I can still FE an account just like when I started (faster if I own a PET) and easier as I am not having to throw away credits HOPING to bid high enough to have used my credits for benefit, instead of having them returned to me if I am overbid. And getting your Iris Drones is about an EIGHTH of what was spent to get them before the TRADE was renamed AUCTION.

    You are right the quest rewards have been reduced but then you are not spending the Uridium like we used to because getting the FE items from TRADE was so expensive we bought our BO-2's and FE-3's with Uridium now it is easy enough to buy them in AUCTION just from the transfers to ship from SkyLab at a rate of 3 (each) per week.

    Event Quests are aimed at FE with BIO, the HIGH EP from normal Quests get you to level 15 before you get the Pilot Points for the proper BIO needed for the level you receive, I was level 16 in less than 2 months, but don't have BUBBLE SHIELDS needed for proper protection grinding out the NPC's needed to complete this level of Quests.

    The BIO has not had any changes to it, that I am aware of (2010), and as such ALL players have had to go through the same growth issues. Actually with the addition of the Pirate maps and Palladium the log disks are easier to achieve because they are getting more gate spins than we did from bonus boxes. And the parked ships allow for quicker EXCHANGE than we had originally.

    The issues of not helping the new players is not the level of the player but the attitude of the players that have stayed in the game. The helpers have (for the most part) gotten tired of being attacked every time they log in and no longer enjoy the game and have QUIT, leaving the gap of NEW players trying to get to UFE and the UFE killing anything that will run away from them or die easily (non NPC).

    I have not had a chance to do a Hades, yet, but have seen several NEWBs get into the Gate being the last of the group with 4 UFE players as the rewards are shared anyway.

    As for the CRAFTING System does anyone really know what we are going to be able to craft and at what expense of time and money invested in the game, not to mention the lack of credits because we have to carry extra ORE for the crafting process and unable to transfer a full load from the SkyLab.

    I do not have the solution to what D O needs to do but I do know they need to do something soon or the popular servers are going to become ghost servers also. The best suggestions I have seen include extending the x-1/x-2 protections to the x-3 and x-4 maps, prevent the attacks of same company players in these maps and enemy players have to be attacked first before they can attack, this allowing them to do their Quests without fear of PvP attacks until they decide to travel to the x-5 (or higher) maps including the 4-x maps. This would have a triple benefit, first would be the NEW players could learn the game before having to worry about being popped all the time, second it allows newbs to get the strength to defend themselves before they end up killing the BK's and Cubes to get the Uridium to buy the Log Disks/EE for Gates and can choose what PvP fights they want to partake in, and finally it would eliminate the same company attacks in the home map lowers (except clan wars, which need to be restricted in some manner).

    yes it would be nice not to get popped 3 or more times by a player too chicken to fight at their own level while trying not to get popped by mobs that escalate in strength far too quickly to keep up.
