The problem is that it's not professional, to say the LEAST, releasing a new untested game features right before weekend. This untested feature made lots of harm to players and is not the first case of putting live something unverified before going on weekend.
I am pretty much fed up of the mess that has been created over the past years in the same fashion like no one ever learns, so forgive my bitterness.

  4. This is how the test. They put it out on Friday, giving an entire weekend of data to pour through when they come back. Unfortunately, the way they read it is not always right. "The analyst say players are not picking up as many cargo boxes at level 6 as they could so we will leave things be." How long do players, that are actually playing, spend at level 6? This new event is a reversal to the old ways of cutting out the new guys. Today's kill Lordakium will put those that can't get to uppers yet on hold. Of course another day and they will make it up here but really... Its the weekend. The customization was not tested by many with all the problems players had just getting in, and instructions for how it was supposed to work were not clear. Let's be honest, they should put out instructions, or FAQ, before the test server offers it so we know what we are looking at.

  5. The other issue that is forgotten is there were 2 servers loaded with this Launch the day before and they should have known about the issues from those servers before they loaded it on the other servers. It is a blatant ignorance to giving the players what they want/need from their gaming experience.

Can D O honestly tell me no one on the 2 Trial Servers did not lose a single ship not compensated for? I know there were complaints in our forum about it before it went live on my servers. These other issues should have been caught also, but if they were they also got ignored.

As far as when they Launch anything it would not matter as it has been demonstrated D O Dev Team is segregated into departments and each department does its own thing and nothing is done to change that. You have the Ship Team (according to the TWITCH is even segregated into sub teams) making new ships and designs, you have the Event team creating the things we see during a launch or special event, you have the Update team creating all of these wonderful (cough) updates, and then you have 2 or 3 people trying to sort the code to find the bugs/glitches created by all of the teams combined. So instead of producing a seamless Update/change they create these convoluted mass of programming that they hope communicates with each other and works as one, usually does not and is why they have so many problems with them.

Actually, I logged in on GB 1 that had the update applied, while the other servers I play still had old style hangars. And noticed the change that confused me but didn't bother reading FAQs as it was late and I was only cycling through servers to get login bonus and send prom/seprom. Unfortunately, had I took a closer look at the state in a new hangar I could spare myself lots of problems and headache on my main account.
Yes, there is a pattern. Putting experimental updates on Friday seems to be a common practice for a long time. But it just drives people away. And they should have put instructions and warnings, though there are always inactive folks who take a break for a month or so and they will still be affected despite warnings. So I still hold the opinion that all designs had to be removed automatically. All those programmers should be able to come up with the simple script to remove designs from ships. But they didn't and I wonder why.

PS: The price of the Aegis ship was reduced from 250000 to 80000 uridium... again, just wander why?

  7. Truth to the matter they know that no one is going to buy it any more. Buy the Elite or the Veteran and skip the Base Ship. Had I not already bought the Base Ship I could care less about having it now, but since I did BUY it and had it stolen from me I want it back or compensated for having it stolen. Ships like Goliath and Vengeance can be recovered fairly cheap from Auction but the Aegis and such are still expensive on Daily Auction, but the tide is turning the Base Ships are becoming CHEAP compared to the designs.

P.S. you can reply to more than one post at a time. Just click the reply button of the second (and on) post at the bottom of your current and it adds it to that instead of being accused of "spamming" the thread.

Yeah, that is quite ridiculous that now you can buy design only and fly it like a ship. Every design should be unusable without the corresponding base ship. No matter how cheap it is.
And I agree with your position in getting the ships back, and also because I often fly bare Aegis and Spearhead due to Elite designs having negative effects on some of their skills. So I want my ships back to continue playing as I used to and because I PAID FOR THEM.
When I buy the car, I don't expect for a seller to knock on the door 2.5 years later and say "Hello, I came for the car but you can keep the paint". Pretty sure he will be running away from my property avoiding bullets.

And yes, I finally LOST MY COOL and am replying not even realizing it is the same thread. Double post corrected/deleted...

How do I transfer equipment e.g from surgeon to Exalted?

You can't because Surgeon is not compatible with other Goliath designs. The extra generator slot prevents current system to recognize other designs being in the same class and doesn't even list them as possible targets.
You will have to do it the old-fashioned way... manually.

I am wandering the same thing as well. If you didn't so far, please take a look at the Tech Announcement to see the list of known issues... at least so far.
Some would argue the change is necessary due to the new Expo designs that would make the old hangar system cluttered and inefficient.
I beg to differ but hey, that's only my opinion.

  13. The bigger argument goes to say, look at the new FLAG Skins coming out for the G-Champion and tell me if you owned every one of those you would want to look through all of them to find the design you want to fly! The New Hangar System is to allow the separation of Stat Designs and Cosmetic and prevent from having to double drop these ship selections, like activating PET Enemy Locator. Although, some might think this would have been a better solution than what we received, but then you also have to remember this is part of the "Equipment in Client" Update that is still being re-worked from our dislikes of it. The changes, though difficult to understand now, have a purpose and when they get the bugs out and give us some work around's for issues we have brought up may actually be better for some players, especially now that a "Parked" ship does not have to take up a Hangar slot.

That is my point - it is all done for the minority that have most if not all ships. Question is what is the average number (let's avoid medians) of designs people have to deal with.
And regarding PET enemy locator style "double drop" menus - they are standard and used in everyday applications, I see up to four nested ones in the browser from which I am writing this.

  15. The benefit that you excerpted can be applied to a NEW player as much as a Veteran. You can not afford all of the Uridium ships, but you want to "Park" ships in different maps. You are given a few ships in the Starter Missions and the progression of the game, you can buy more with Credits and you get all of the Hourly Auctioned ships and designs Cheaply also (10K at the right time), you get these to the maps you want them in (using the Favorite Hangar and Warp) and then change back to your playing ship removing the other ship from the favorite and now you can have the ships you have ready to fly in Favorite Hangars to warp into where ever you are, and before you log in you select the ship that corresponds to the map you want to play in (I would suggest Portals, NYX's, and Bases), log in and warp to your playing ship and now go have fun. This was originally for those who BOUGHT their Hangars but now is extended to every NEWB who has more than one Ship/Design in their inventory.

As far as the Nested Menus, I assume that with the future changes (currently on hold waiting for fixes to issues we brought up) the Dev Team found them to not function well enough with the clarification of what is a Working design and a Cosmetic design (take Independence design as it is a skin but with the release of the Champion Goliath it is now a Stat, but they decided to make the Champion and leave it as a Skin) thus allowing a player to own ALL of the different Flag designs but only one Champion Goliath to fly them on. This also allows the other individual Ships (old designs) to be customized in the future using Skins/Designs without any confusion of what is a Skin and what is a Stat design.

Well, you keep posting a lot about mechanics of the new hangar like starring ships and warping them but is warp free?

The old hangar system never caused me any confusion between skin and stat designs, although a lot of them existed before this change. Actually, only the latest Expo ships didn't exist in the old hangar system. Whoever was confused by the terms "stat" and "skin" should have taken some time reading FAQs or asking in forums.
I would say there are more urgent things to think about and fix than making fancy hangar, which turned out into a horrible update, severely harming players.

  17. Warp is free if you are at your company base or at the pirate base. If at one of those bases, you can warp in another ship for free. Also if you are at your company base, you can warp to a ship that is in another map, any map you have a ship in...

Yes I know, but is it free if I want to go from home map to uppers or from 3-4 to 3-6?

  19. As has been stated this is a CHANGE that is needed for other items that are in the works. If it happens now or with the Launch of the EiC it still would have had to be done. It is better to have to learn in sections than to have the entire change done at one time. This is also supposed to help alleviate some of the code conflicts we have been seeing with every Update too. All I can say is this is a change, for better or worse, that we just have to deal with as best we can. Equipment issues are equipment issues and other than having to make a couple extra clicks still transfer over as they did before (except for Pusat and Surgeon), but this also is trying to be resolved if given the chance to do so.

That is mostly what I've been doing for the past 4 years - adapting to dubious updates made to the game. To give just one example, I still wander why the quests page was ever removed from the backpage. At that time, having a single hangar, the update made some quests virtually impossible for me. The bonus box nerfing, PET kamikaze cooldown and reduction of blast radius, senseless overhaul of LoW gate, crazy damage and more damage, 3 second fights in a ship with 10 drones, HP & shield boosted on a speed/shield conf?
The most basic things like port jumps are still bugged and send me mid map, while on screen it appears I am sitting on port but actually get shot down...
Well, I am getting tired of adapting to half baked products and inventions. As I said before, it is just me... but I am getting tired.
