It would be awesome, if the people knew, when they got chatbanned or whatever, what they did wrong. They could be more careful not to make the same mistake again. So, my suggestion is: Tell the people why they got banned, when you´re banning them

theyres usually a message as to why with the 'you got banned' but it tends to be vague.. maybe they should add in a 'dont say -that-'

  3. Notices would be helpful. Chat ban notices should go to game mail and account bans should go to registered email. The sooner they got sent the better it would be so the player gets what is going on. I have seen some players that don't play but once or twice a week try to log on to find they have a month long ban, but had to get with support to find out it was a month long, and why. Then again, I know people that barely "scan" their email so meh.

  4. There should be an automated message saying nlt to do that again or you get a ban when you say something in the chat that is against the rules .new players don't know the rules and when they get a chat ban for a week and they don't know what it is for they won't log in again... And back again to trying to keep noons in the game

  5. If they are new players they would not start the chat ban at 1 week, it's usually only a couple of hours. When they ban you for longer periods it would be cause they are doing it over and over. Also when you get ban it would be something you said within a couple of lines so most of the time it wouldn't be that hard to figure out what you said. I think most of the bans that i see are players talking their language on the wrong server. Enjoy

  6. When I started playing my second day I got a ban for 3 days without any explanation

  7. Meaning you were yapping so much, you could not keep up with what you were saying and when the ban came, there was so much going on, you probably didn't see the mod say "Change the subject please."

  8. I was in a conversation about vehicles and spelled out "F O R D" and got banned for 12 hours I was asking if anyone knew what it stood for? Found on Road Dead, ?? Over Rebuilt Dodge, First on Race Day, whatever else you want the letters to say. Some of the "Automatic" script/computer bans are just hitting a space bar before/after a letter (like 'f') which is just stupid it is too bad they don't look at the entire sentence instead of just the individual words/letters as many of the bans are just ridiculous.

  9. I also have noticed if you get invited to a group that is in another language sometimes i say something in English but in the other language means something different and you would get ban for that. So just keep an eye on what language the group chat is on, if it is another language i just try to keep the answer simple and not ask to many questions.

There are 2 types of chat ban.

    1. A ban from a chat mod this is in the norm a ban for bad behavior whilst on chat and in most cases the mod will give a warning first then if the bad behavior persists then you will get a chat ban.

    2. A system ban that is automated, this happens when words, abbreviations or special character's are used to to apply bad or offensive language. The system as an international English filter based on American English and evolves as new methods are used to convey offensive language, a large percentage of players banned by this method know exactly why they were banned as offense was intended.

I must agree With PSK that an E-mail be sent as an official notice, this should include the possible consequence's of further infringements of rules and advice on how to check on chat rules to avoid any confusion.

The thing is, that only a high percentage of players know what they did wrong. Many people got banned already by either mistake by a mod (which can be true, the mods are only humans, too) or without knowing what they did wrong. Especially new players who even have to learn the game can be very active in the chat because they have questions or whatever, and they formulate it a bit offensive because they really want to know the answer and maybe had to write the same question three times because they either dont understand the answer or dont get an answer at all. I dont want to talk negative about new players, its only a scenario that came suddenly in my mind. And i dont want to talk negative about other players, but in a chat where people write much a few things can be overseen.

  15. I agree Stryke, players tend to want to chat how they speak for real. This is especially true when they are upset. In the beginning when the noob protection wears off and they start getting popped left and right, its nothing to see, now that my chat is working again, a new player turning into the Hulk on chat, only to see Thor put him down with his mighty hammer. Its funny but sad at the same time since you know its coming and they just don't get why, which is what we see when they come in here Hulking it up about the ban. :p They just don't realize Thor is here also and the same thing happens to the thread. That is why they need something fast telling them where they went wrong, and how it is wrong. I have seen players flip out because the system kicked them, which is really the first warning that they need to calm down and think about what they are saying, or how they are saying it. What happens normally? They reload, and come back guns blaring about getting kicked, not listening to the other players as they try to explain how the kick works and then Thor comes from on high to put the hammer down. That hammer needs to have a stamp on it that resonates all the way to the DO mail. BAMM, Bad language. BAMM, harrassing. BAMM Told you three times to change the subject. Or maybe to the registered email. BAMM, Account Sharing. BAMM, Pushing. And then tell them if they have any problems with the hammer swinging, to contact Odin in customer support to plead their case.

  16. No I wasn't yaping at all I don't think I sent more then 3 messages...when u start the game there's no way you can now the chat rules

  17. If you read the T&C when you created the account then you would have a fairly good idea of the ettiquette needed to use the in-game features. I know you may need an adult to explain them but most of the information is just common sense and everyone knows to watch their language around NEW people so you treat the game as being around NEW people all the time. 3 messages full of hate or cuss words can create a ban from chat. As I stated a lone 'f' can get you kicked or banned by the automatic system, depends on history of chat account.

  18. LOL, it only takes one, and it may seem like nothing but things spiral.

  19. Excause me for not reading T&C do you do it every time you sing up to a new game..? Ohh sorry every adult does..I've got a ban this week for using a word in a whisper to my friend in my first language that isn't recodnised as a offensive word by anyone using the same language ...

  20. The only place that you can use a language other than the server based language (global servers excepted) is in a private room, whispers and normal rooms are to be server based language only just for this reason.
