[SC] Ive been helping a noob

so tonight i was flying around lowers, im mmo and popped a noob goli in 3-3. he was the only ship i saw in all the enemy lowers. Felt awful afterwards when i realised this was the guy that had been talking in global chat for the past hour. He was so full of enthusiasm for the game. he was elated that he was level 8 and had saved up 800k creds.

He was asking advise on what to do, bid on iris? buy mp1, buy shields? should he start sky lab etc etc. This player was absolutely loving darkorbit. it reminded me of how excited i felt when i first started (2009) (old client) i was hooked on this game. back then there were so many company players that noobs got help from the big guys, they were protected in lowers by the company big guys. lf3 and bo2 and 8 iris was the ain and bidding was a huge gamble when u lost all your creds if you lost. clans were building up and accepted noobs and helped them grow.

Now the game is totally different, there were no vru to help him or protect him, he is going to need to sink $100s into the game to get lf4, pilot bio, pet, 10 drones, bo2, all equipment to even compete.

I just wish i could give this guy all my useless lf3 and my 100 bo2 im never gonna need, he could have them for free just to give him a start. maybe he would stay and become a good player.

Pointless post really but just makes me fell kinda sad.

 

It does not seem pointless as you felt enough for the player to make a post about it and not be bragging about the kill. I fly about the maps in my main from time to time and find a lot of maps pretty empty, especially lowers. In lowers I fly through in my spear just to see if there is any activity and have helped many a player of various levels complete a kill on a sib, regular and boss, and also regular and boss dev. In vru maps, I will use it to protect others if I see activity.

I am really excited to hear that there was a new player asking for advise in the chat. I rarely see that, and now that my chat is back, can understand why it would be done in global. Nobody in the company chat. I spent lots of time just trying to stir up some conversation and finally just shut the window altogether. Been asking myself why I spent time getting it fixed all day. Anyways, to hear the player asking for advise shows promise for the game.

On the flip side, you can do a lot and not pay a dime. If you are in a mad rush, yes, spending cash to get the gates done yesterday for LF4, and designs will be needed, but otherwise, you really don't have to. You can get all your iris with credits, as well as just about everything else. I applaud you for feeling for this young player. Hopefully more will be like you and lend a wing, no matter company.

 

I feel your pain once not that long ago (weeks) an enemy goli was park in my co.s port and I popped him he had like two or three flaxes no big deal.
So i go about my business and return to port to heal up and there he was not yet fully healed and so i pop him again and he reappears on spot a repairs and then i knew his was really fresh. There went what little joy i had in killing him so i whizzed him and let off some fireworks and flew off.

 

I have 12 billion creds that i will not used so i create a Clan dump 2 million creds in it and open the clan to ANY player level 1-15 (if you are level 15 and over and you dont have all the basic stuff then you are lazy i cannot help you with your laziness)
What would be good if DO remove the time limit it takes to accumulate creds in a clan they should however make a max of 250 million a week vs 5 million a day
This way clan leaders can still see rogue players that are trying to rip the clan off
With the rampant Autolocking and high dmg ships out there now its hard to protect noobs as they try grinding to make creds back in 2009 the standard was LF3 and B02 and iris now its LF4,B02,havoc,hercs, Zeus,Apis,iris (Lvl 16 upgrade)

 

Killercal73 not for me and not as a criticism but name your clan , server and contact info would help to new players

Good job, ★★★JUICYLUCY★★★, you aren't egoistic as a large part of the other D O players, because unfortunately you don't receive anything for helping the beginners. The extremely selfish guys will even kill every newbie to clear the maps (just for fun?) and enjoy their superiority.

A "food bank" for newbies with free LF3, B02 and speed generator would be interesting, if the donors receive a little price (some booty keys, Seprom etc.)

 

well in another game i play
they have something called trade
so studd worth credits or uridium whatever you want will be the amount on the trade list and first one to buy it, get it
this game had this feature for more than 5 years now.
so yea i completely agree with that and when i was a noob there i tell them in Ts to my clan just to trade quickly so i can get the item cheaply and no one else get its.

still no idea why DO havnt done
im sure most of the playrs know what im talking about
its a big thing in other online games but still lacking in DO

if not lf4 atleast bo2 and lf3 would be good idea to consider

Some players play Pusat in suicide config and waiting for someone shield drop. That is what I hate most. But 1 on 1 instant EMP - Cloak....
