Game balance is a must bud

 

i do not think that there was any balance on this game. in the years of the old client when you were in a clan they would help you get the things, do missions and a very good amount of things else but even this is now harder, low level players can't get things enough to go doing PVP when they get attacked they all die out. The full goliaths do like almost 500k of damage there is no way to get closer to that in time before they release new things and then these ships will be even stronger, i think that there will be an time that they will deal like, 1 million of damage by the way that things are going...almost every time that i've been killed in DO it was an 128k combo for 8 shots from an UFE surgeon...

 

I have a question. I thought i heard through twitch that they were gonna come out with these new design's which are now only cosmetic but eventually they are gonna come out with some kinda reward for using them with the drones?

I would like to point out that giving Prismatium and Plasmide if you lose a UBA match is a big mistake imo. Picture this go in with a small ship that you could care less if it dies and let yourself be blown up. This is going to be abused. I admit I don't know what the reward is if you loose the UBA, but if you need Prismatium and Plasmide what is easier? Killing a bunch of npcs where it drops randomly or going into UBA and dying a few times. UBA resets at the end of the month so who cares how much u loose if you can't win anyway? Before any of you nay sayers make a comment keep this in mind. I said that the uri reward that came out with the Kuiper gate would be abused. That all you had to do was get all the designs and you were assured the uri reward. Well soon after that they came out with the restriction that kept you from getting it. I was right about that and I am right about this.

Anyway since I have spoken my peace about that I have to agree that I could care less about how my drones and ship look when I am still working on building strength except that as I stated in another post if your drones have a design on them the only way to tell if someone is UFE is to look at the little tiny I's.

 

you know, i tried that UBA thing it was very unsuccessful, there is no prismatium and no plasmide there... this is for winners now I think... anyway the reward for that thing is very bad too... for players like me that will not in a million years even get to the 50th position on that thing to get something satisfying, even die out in that thing its not worth it, but it would be good if they addicted a permanent amount of materials to the cargo boxes, for example: you get 40 terbium, endurium and prometium and 2 duranium and prometid from a saimon if they had done like i tough that they would be doing by placing 1 scrap in addiction to the cargobox or whatever material that it is... killing saimons would be more worth it... would be too easy, but would be enough...

 

Not only is it not listed you dont get it... I did all the quests yesterday, too few as others have said and 1 assembly reward is too few, and whilst doing this I picked up some Booty boxes 1 of which contained a Hybrid processor (lucky me) and anyway the last mission was for the crafting of the HP and this takes 10 hours so I was to wake up happy this morning the proud owner of 3 Hybrid Processors (after collecting the one I set to assemble overnight, ty HMHY )...
Horror and a big downer to start the day.. NO I only have the one Booty collected and then a confusing logbook entry after collecting the assembled HP for the mission

the drop rate for resources is too low!!!! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE ANOTHER WASTE OF TIME, AND ANOTHER USELESS POINT OF ANY FREE PLAYERS EVEN TRYING TO TAKE PART, SO MUCH FOR THE PROMISE OF TRYING TO BALANCE THIS GAME OUT. GAME A JOKE ALONG WITH ALL OF ITS SILLY EVENTS THAT NO ONE CAN OBTAIN FROM WITHOUT USING REALL MONEY.!!

Well this event all being about cosmetics, and being able to get these designs or not will not effect the balance of the game in any way. I myself are UFE and I will not be taking part in this event. It is a whole lot of effort, with the low drop rates and poor event quests, rewards and expensive extra's and for what? A cosmetic design that just looks nice. Big deal.

I myself have no interest in cosmetics, so this event is just another day in the DO verse. What we really need to be asking is this, How can they pass this off as an event? Sure they have put some effort into it, but where is the excitement, the competition, the really awesome rewards, the need to be on daily to keep ahead of everyone else. Answer, no where.

But what are we getting now, another cosmetics event. It really is not worth the time or effort. Now, I am not saying that they should be just concentrating on selling power but making an event to shift some cosmetic designs is just poor. A Pusat is still a Pusat no matter what colour it is. Sure some people what to look good and different, if I wanted to do the same I would go out and buy a new shirt.

 

Could not agree more. ZERO specs value in new "event" items = ZERO interest.

 

The event is...ok. Many bad quests, new recipes which I needn't because they don't help me on the road to Ufe, an amazing low drope rate...

But I can play Crazy Cubikon and Spaceball. That's all.

 

My feedback:

-VEs
1 - Bad quests, doesn't help non-ufes get anywhere. Who would collect over 2000 useless resources just for 5 log disks?
2 - Drop rates for the crafting materials are horrible and do not help non-ufes get anywhere again without spending tons of time
3 - Prices for the hardware are complete rubbish, same with the payment package. I hope no one falls for this and buys them -.-
4 - Why put 'Campany Goliath'? These don't help new players at all. Perhaps one that actually helps them survive in battle, e.g.: spectrum
5 - DDMs and the sab hellstorm are useless to craft as these can easily be obtained from event bonus boxes
[This event is only good if you have tons of booty keys]

+VEs
1 - Perfect for UFEs and now I use my keys which easily gets me these new toys
2 - An even better reason to do hades on ton of discount etc.
3 - The 'Centuar' design is perfect for new players
4 - Lance formation can be obtained for free
5 - PET is really cheap to get
6 - Lava designs look really nice


Overall I love this event!

 

Maybe you can collect it in Cargo boxes like in the last similar event quest.

I will never understand the logic of the ressources collecting quests...instead of over 2000 bad ressources you can collect over 2000 Palla. Over 130 EE is better than 5 logfiles and 200 uri. They should add 2 zero after the 5, then the quest would be good

 

Company Goliaths work great. I live in mine. However, I feel for anyone trying to start gathering the materials for it now. This event is basically to get people moving all around the maps and nothing more. Maybe the boxes are possibly good, I have not checked them out yet but that final mission should be complete once you do all the other missions. Then you can go back to normal stuff and box your heart out. People have things to do. Not everyone can waste days on end hunting for something that is in obscure places.

 

I found the hardware drop rates from the green booty ok, however it is very random at times, pick up 10 booty nothing but ammo then 3-4 hardware drops back to back, add in red and blue booty and it all went to pot.

Regards scrap resource drops, a simple NOT HAPPENING is about all I can be bothered to type despite many expletives springing immediately to mind, currently stuck in a situation where even being ufe will not help with this as I need over 160 units of scrap to complete the build quest to create a single CPU, NO WAY am I going to be grinding 30-50npc for one resource unit, if the scrap and other similar resources were purchasable this would balance this a little though only in favor of those that spend on uri or hoard uri. Solution: chanhe the drop rate or amount of resources required to build an item.

The design drop rates from the uber mlords seem similar as I did eventually get a spectrum poison design and let my wingman have it though I think grinding out 50 or so uber mlords isn't too hard a stretch for a ship design it certainly is for a resource that requires many thousands of units to build anything worthwhile, add in a time limit and I simply have better things to do.

Drop rates in A, B and G gates are ok for the drone designs though likely a little expensive for a full set when the item itself does very little other than look ok though even this is debatable due to personal preference.

First impression for this event is interesting though could have been much better balanced along with maybe more than 5-6 missions, really guys I do think you have been overthinking this one as I feel less is more as in better quality events needing to be better thought through and tested, also maybe introduce a few things instead of a whole raft of items forcing people to prioritise what to work towards as it would be easy to repeat a similar event with a new twist on this theme adding more items later with each new rehash. People are also not reading the FAQ and are struggling to work out what everything does and how it all works.

Please dev team quality check the scrap resource drop rates as it is past a joke what you are expecting us to do in order to craft some of these new items, am sure after 2-3 hours of getting nowhere fast in this regard you will reach a similar conclusion to the rest of us and simply decide to do something more interesting than grinding several thousand npc in order to create a simple flair item. Go on I dare you, add up how many hours grinding scrap it takes to actually obtain all these limited items and I would bet there is simply not enough time in the next two weeks to obtain them all.

Overall a good idea for an event that is simply too demanding with the time required to obtain anything worthwhile imho, too many new items at once which could have been released over time or added into new ideas or events. More daily event missions please as they keep people logging back in day after day in order to obtain the new items.

 

The new crafting resources should be included as part of the regular resource drop from npc kills, as well as include the new stuff if the npc drops any sort of booty box. It's a 'one of', if the rare occurrence of a new resource does occur, so it should not impact any current aspect of npc booty.

All of the event quests for this launch should have included at least a taste of one of the resources being introduced.

The new designs/ships that are basically ONLY A PAINT JOB, should not be anywhere near the cost (either in uridium or the amount of time and craft resources required) to complete. If they are needed, put a level restriction on them - if a level 25 player wants to have it that bad go ahead then.

Drop rates, as already mentioned, need to be reviewed. One new resource item should be able to be seen every 10-20 npc's destroyed.

The Quantum Step quest never did live up to the original billing of giving a second Hybrid Processor. Either that or the text could be re-written to seem to imply a 2nd).

 

So I started Beta gate, mordons an saimons done, just one item of scrap dropped after approximately 80 npc destroyed, time taken 10 minutes with no pet kami as am not premium.

A hybrid cpu requires 330 pieces of scrap to construct if you can find 80 npc in short order.. Go figure..

E2A: I did go figure, 4x hybrid cpu for say the lance formation, this will require over 200 hours playing the game if you have an endless supply of mordons and saimons along with no interference from any enemies.

All this adds up to an all but impossible mission or playing the game for 13 hours a day for two weeks, that is if you can actually get anywhere near one scrap resource item per 10 minutes of play.
