[GI] Combo Ship Repair Gear

I purchase a combo repair gear at level 1. If I want to upgrade to level 2 or 3 do I have to purchase another one at level 2 or 3 as I cant find any way of up grading it.

lvl 1 gear can be acquired through some events, i learned early in the game not to buy lvl 1 equipment cause you can only sell them back for credits when your ship out grows them. Always wait till you can afford lvl 3, same as upgrading stuff. Say if you upgrade a lf3 to lvl 16 eventually you will get lf4's then you will have to upgrade all of them and have wasted uri on upgrading the lf3's.

 

Note the Pet needs to be lvl 8 before you can buy lvl 3 gear/protocols and the gear dont stack either (though the protocols do) so a couple basics maybe but wait/save til the pet reaches lvl 8

 

Since each ship does require its own set of these you could equip other ships with these outdated equipment's when you want to just have some fun with the game. Maybe a FE Leonov to fly the Lowers doing daily quests, or fly a FE+ Phoenix just to see who will try to attack you.

I myself found buying just the basic stuff (Auto Looter, Resource Collector, Radars) were all I needed until my PET was level 8. If you plan on using the PET for anything other than KamiKaze I would suggest buying the HP upgrade with every level up you get otherwise it is very expensive to do it at the very end (550 K from first to last), but again this is only if you plan on using him in PvP battles and repair his health (which most do not since we use him for Kami) to 100%.

I see people complaining about having to equip their ships all the time and not being able to just transfer equipment to new ships but we had 10 Hangars in the old system that you had to equip so what is the difference here (one Goliath and One Vengeance that we need to equip differently) you can now equip all ships you own and not worry about anything else. Some want to give extra LF-4's to lower level clan mates because they have too many yet they complain about having to un-equip and re-equip their ships all the time, Just assign these extras to the other ships you want to fly (as pointed out the individual item upgrades is not that big of an advantage). The Drones, once upgraded, are in every hangar and just need to be equipped so put your upgraded BO-2's and LF-4's on them and then the others on the PET's and then the ships and have 2-3 ships ready to fly with nothing other than a warp to make the change. I did not waste my time or resources buying anything other than BO-2's, 7900 Speed Gens, or LF-3's when I built my ship/account so I do not have all of the other items to deal with (sold the free items from quests and starter missions) but have all of the extras I need to fully equip 10 ships currently and starting to bid on getting the other 20 ships I own ready so all I need to do is add the weapons and generators to have them ready to fly, again adding the upgraded equipment to my drones first.
