Was in x-2 doing the daily quest, and a badged Surgeon goliath (major of some sort) from my own company was laying bombs all over. He followed me and tried to lay bombs in my path, and almost succeeded in popping me with a cluster of them. He was harassing other players too.

This is a company killer, and isn't doing any favors to the game as a whole. I'd like to report it, but figure I'd get the same old breezy "That's just part of the game!" that I've heard over the years...even though several complaints that used to get responses like that have been addressed and some dealt with - an admission that just because that's the way things were doesn't mean they're right.

Guess I'm just venting here, not sure I'll bother trying to report it. I did copy his name down though.

Other companies, maybe, okay. Your own company, tho'... !

And in x-2 basically targeting noobs, which is a loophole circumventing all protection.

I fail to see the fun in that. It's a shame, and good luck recruiting new players when they haven't "upped" to premium yet, and keep getting bombed back to x-1 base. Go you, I guess.

FWIW, I was strong enough to drive him off, except in x-2 you can't do that to your own company. So it was fine to have dozens of "friendly fire" mines laid to take out your own company, but no power to prevent it as you saw it happening.

  4. Clearly someone deleted my message at first.
From somewhat to totally disagree with you. People should be able to land mines on x-2 maps due to wars and fight off enemy players . You can try to prevent the bombs. Good luck #no more pushing # no more bots

A high level player, following random members of his own company and trying to pop them without any loss of personal honor? And laying mines all around the portals of his own x-2 map? We're talking dozens and dozens of carpet bomb mines.

It's a laugh to suggest that it was targeted toward enemy players, particularly when there are absolutely no events on and he was following me and kept trying to lay mines right in my path. No. Sorry, that's clearly abuse. It's one thing if it's a jerk noob, but I'm in the top 500 and he was above my rank. It really wasn't more than a minor annoyance to me personally, but he chased off a couple noob players just while I was cruising for my 50 streuners.

It annoys me to see this, and it's a problem if people think this is okay.

  6. People from own company usually do this mine laying tactic in x2 if they think people are box botting in x2 map as it's the only way for someone from the same company to destroy the botter. As a bot will run to port when damaged the usual tactic is to mine the ports as the botters ship will be destroyed after hitting that last mine at port.

Laying carpets of mines on the x-2 maps is a common sight and outside of the capture the beacon as no real tactical purpose, laying mines to catch out botters as a negative effect because as soon as they go pop they are off the radar of the detection system and avoid being caught. There are a minority players that lay mines just to see noobies go pop knowing that players killed by by mines give no negative honor as these kills do not count as player kills. The only way to stop the unsporting players laying mines on x-2 maps is to only allow mines on x-2 maps for the capture the beacon event allowing mines to be laid 1 hour before the event and mines that have not been triggered become inactive 1 hour after the event.

    lol
why are you making a big deal?
its part of game and just like pally you got aliens and another company, next thing you say is get rid of all the aliens in 5-3.
your lucky because in the old days when pet came out own company could kamikaze same players in x-2 maps.
your idea is bad and it would make x-2 even more crowded with botter than already is

Hmm... There are many things that were part of the game at one time, but were loopholes to fair play and have since been fixed. This is one of those things that has not been fixed. Just because it's the way it is and a part of the game now, doesn't mean we have to accept it as being right.

I get about laying mines in Capture the Beacon and for other tactical reasons. What I experienced was straight up direct harassment by a high level player from my own company - dogging me all over the map and trying to lay mines right in my path. I was annoyed, but really more upset when I saw him doing it to noobs - who then left.

  10. Laying down mines is part of the 'achievement' to accomplish. From 100 to 10,000 dropped. 5 ach(oo)s :D

    edit: from 4 to 5

Sure...but I bet it doesn't say anything about deliberately targeting and harassing your own company. What I saw had nothing to do with laying mines or achievements.

Please don't mess with noobs for they are the future of the game. Such childish behavior if seen by those that run this game should come in with lights flashing and pop them with ease. Or we could call a like minded fellow from another Co. to blast him.
