[SC] Ships and their Designs.

Hi forumers,


I have a random question that I need a quick answer to.

Do ship designs count as ships now? I have read once in the chat by somebody that apparently you don't need to own the ship, just the design and you're able to use it.

For example; instead of buying aegis and then the elite/veteran design.. you can immediately use the elite/veteran design without even owning the actual ship itself?

The designs are now ships in their own right so you dont need the base ship to use the design... This is why we have a small problem with the PvP missions atm coz a Goli Bastion/Spectrum etc is not a Goli for the quest...
the exception would be like the Crimson etc... for these you do need a 'simple' Goli and use the dropdown in hangar to enable them

 

Oh wow, seems like this change made a new experience in the game. :O

You have to remember designs are now just cosmetic shells. If it changed the stats of the basic ship it became its own ship. Best way to see it is to look at the Hangar, if design/ship is seen then it can be flown as it is. Select Goliath (assuming you own it and them) and see the skins you can add to the basic ship. Things like the Pusat Lava are just skins and you need to have the Pusat to be able to use them.
