  1. i can agree with some of what stonemason is saying but i think the game has changed too much, years ago when max u could get was fe noobs stood a chance of escaping and could learn pvp skills,
so by time you got to level 15 you were usually a half decent player especially as there were far more players about, but these days noobs are a 1 shot-pop its no fun for them they cant escape anymore,
i am ufe myself and it frustrates me that ufe pop noobs , but because they die so fast usually a lv 15 these days will still have little fighting experience,
so my thoughts on this are the same as what i have been saying for years the game needs to take a leaf out of a game called drakensang online,s book where you can alternate between pvp and pve gameplay so when you want to pvp you can fight other pvp when you want to pve in peace you can simple idea and it works,
all these ideas about you can do this at lv 10 or you can do that at lv 15 are just stupid and over complicated

    ~Monster~ likes this.
  2. Well something needs to be done so that new and low level players (higher than level 6) get some kind of protection, we can all agree with that. It could be a good idea of being able to choose between PVE and PVP, but there is a down side to it and that is the " 24hr boxing crew". These people could box 24/7 in any map and not need to bother about being attacked. If they increased the protection to level 12 and just in lower home maps, that would help out new players a lot. If they were to do that though, they would also need to be more on the ball with botters as we would end up with a bunch of level 11 players boxing in their home maps. Damned if they do , damned if they don't.

If DO tried to do anything to help new and weaker players, there will always be a group of people that would take advantage of it and that is sad to cheat in a game.

  3. i think bigpoint know who the 24hr botting crew are they just choose to ignore it and punish honest players instead just for mentioning them,
if they really want to sort this game out they need to actually get off there fat arse and ban botters straight away and implement a pvp or pve enviroment as i said above^^
what i should have mentioned in my post above is... i started playing ge1 as a noob i dont buy uri and have reached lv 14 so far, as i have played this game 8 years i am very experienced in pvp,and i dont stand a chance in this noob ship, so how can a new player @lv 15 be called experienced when it comes to pvp these days

  4. New players, even ones that are around level 15 don't stand any chance going up against the amount of damage some people can cause. I have also been playing for over 8 years and my noob account has no chance against UFEs, but with the skills I have learned I am able to at least get away from them. Making them look all kinds of silly, especially in spaceball.:D (also a few wizz rockets just for a laugh)

The sooner a player learns how to defend themselves by being able to get away from these UFEs the easier the game will become. So having protection up to level 15 only makes it easier to be hunted down as these people would have not needed to learn any evasion skills.
But like you said ban the bot, then introduce some kind of choice between PVP and PVE.

What about no pvp protection because there never was any at the beginning of this game and for a pretty long time after(not even in home maps as now). Do we have to remind each other that there actually is a protection for players under x(don't know it) level? Any other discussions are in vain in my opinion.

  6. In the beginning of the game FE was the best anyone could achieve. Everyone was on an even footing. As some players become FE and new players started they gave protection for them new players against FE hunters. Now the hunters are UFE and giving the same level of protection for new players is now redundant. The firepower has increased but the help for new players has stayed the same. Where is the balance?

Well on the one hand we have UFE insta popping weaker players, on the other hand we have botters.
In my opinion allowing Big Point to handle the bot using problem is for the best all around.
If the biggest and only problem with offering the choice to be either PvP or PvE then I say allow the choice.

The PvP crowd would still be able to fight if that is what they want against other players that believe they are ready and the PvE crowd can farm and improve till they are ready to fight as opposed to the mess it is now where only the strongest trample the life from the game till there is nothing left for anyone trying to find a reason to stay.

Did you read the part with the balance? Or you are just moaning and trying to annoy people?
And not the best you can get is UFE, and once at UFE everyone is at same footing, exactly like back then, when not everyone was FE.
World evolves. Compare the game's evolution to the evolution of the real World and then moan more. The poor have become poorer, the rich have become richer and the helpless nobody wants to help. World is offering more than you can ever have. If back in a day you were good with a small house and some piece of land to work on now you *only* need 3 mansions, 5 apartments at the highest level of the most popular skyscrapers around the world, a few cars, a private jet and a yacht. Where is the balance?

  9. Firstly I will ignore your rudeness. Secondly, When they first brought out protection up to level 6 players there were only FE players to watch out for. Now we have UFE players but the protection is still for up to level 6 players. Can you not see that for a new player it is now harder to escape an attack form a UFE player rather than an FE player back in the day. The firepower has increased so why has the protection level stayed the same. So I will ask again only louder, WHERE IS THE BALANCE???

Achieving UFE status is harder than reaching FE. That being said there are less people that can say that they are on the same footing. The gap between a new player and a UFE is vast. Back in the day it was only a short amount of time and effort to reach FE from being a new player. Now with the large gap between a new player and a UFE player there are more people that are not on the same footing and it will take a long time to get anywhere near UFE. Hence not the same footing. There is a big difference between a new player and a UFE player. A much bigger difference than that of a new player and an FE player.

Lets not compare a game to the real world, I think I know what you are trying to say but you are going way off topic. We are talking about giving a higher level of protection for new players that's all. The game is moving nicely for strong and UFE players but the new and weak players are not getting anything new to help them to become stronger. So why not give them extra protection until they reach a higher level. It might encourage said players so remain active as they are not becoming cannon fodder for sad UFE hunters that patrol lower maps.

Can't be off topic as long as the game is played and created by people. It's the world that I am talking about who plays the game even if the game itself is actually something virtual.

  11. Its funny how full circle the thoughts have come on this thread. This is my noob account and I am at level 17. I get attacked in my turtle of a bigboy, with flax drones a lot. No way these WW can say I have a chance at escaping a firefight. I get hit by all of the "Hang on right here so I can pop you" equipment. Freeze rockets, slow mines... LOL I find it crazy funny how UFE can attack obviously lower level, both actual levels and in equipment stats, and then act all high and mighty about it. Why they should hunt in lowers at all is why I see this as a child mentality game. Then they want to chat about their conquests. The OP has a great idea. New players need time to get their affairs in order. They need to get the equipment and the majority of the lower missions completed. Also DO needs to remove the pvp missions from the lower levels so the new players don't mess up their protection status because of it.

If players mouths could shut a minute, a number of the attacks on them would go down. I think I have actually had to repair my drones twice since starting this account in Dec. Even when I finish my goal with it, in 3 years maybe, I won't stand a chance against a basic FE ship. I have managed to pop a few upstarts that have come after me but that is because after a bit, its annoying to be shot, forever, and they get bunched up with the NPC. New players need protection, but they need guidance also. With it being a virtual game, its hard to get through players skulls that they should wait before popping off at anyone.

Also, those like me with NOOB accounts, should not jump in chat after being attacked saying, "Don't make me get my main." Childish rubble, just wait if you must for the attacker to move on and then go back to what you are doing.
