[UI] Ideas to Grow the Game

  1. With the 10th birthday of this game coming up I have come to realize how much the game has changed over the years and how the popularity of it has ultimately started to fall off. I personally identify the main causes for the decrease in popularity to be the difficulty that it takes to become UFE and compete in any sort of pvp, and the lack of new stuff introduced to the game (maps, aliens, ships, gear). So I have brain stormed some ideas and hope you all will share your ideas so that the devs can work their magic and bring the game back to life. Firstly advertising, not sure if my basic adblock is that amazing but I have not seen any sort of ads for DarkOrbit in years. The reloaded trailer they put out a couple years ago is wonderfully made and would be perfect for an advertisement on YouTube and such. Second, add more maps and aliens. We have been grinding the same old aliens for a long while now with the exception of some events but even then only use recycled aliens from previous events. (If this gets anywhere I had some ideas for devs if they would like to hear it.) Third, assuming more maps are made new items could be added with this, (this could be the answer to the gap in f2p and p2p) you could do a gear reset in a sense. A model of this would be the game Destiny. Each time they drop a new DLC the previous gear becomes irrelevant and requires players to grind all the new stuff. Obviously this sucks if you are UFE and everything you have becomes useless especially after all the money I am sure people have invested into each of ships. I do believe this is the answer to fixing the gap and I am sure the devs can come up with some way to treat players with maxed gear so the loss is not as hard to take. I know some people will disagree with something suggested in here, but I personally thing a game that is full of life, like around 2010, is more fun and entertaining than dead servers with hardly anyone playing.

  2. D O shouldn't do that, the game's condition is awful, wherefore they plan many updates. The future customers shouldn't look at the game now. It is possible, that the game scared them forever again.

    That's definitely overdue. Every MMO game has a endless list of NPCs and maps, in contrast D O's list doesn't even fill an A4 page (only names). Besides most of them are boring, they all have the same "abilities" (damage attacks) and the same kind of movement. The exceptions are Cubi, event NPCs and pirates, which ingame design is creative, however their Uri rewards are low..
    IMO I think, it's not necessary. This circle of get useful items-makes useful items useless doesn't fit for D O.
