[UI] Drone Design and Drone Formation Combo Effect

    I would like to suggest something called a COMBO EFFECT between drone designs and drone formation.

    (I have added some more combo effects on both the least and most used formation in the game)

    DRONE DESIGNS

    These elite items can be equipped to your drones, having it you will receive bonus depending on what type of drone design you have equipped, not only that but it gives a slick and pretty cool visuals on your drones (demon drone designs are the most detailed one)

    Havoc, Hercules, and the Demon drone designs are the 3 elite items you can equip your drones to receive a set bonus that will boost either your damage, your Shield or HP in the game.

    DRONE FORMATIONS

    These are Formations of the drones that will change the placement of your drones in a specific shape or alignment of the said formation used.

    They give a boost effect for players when they are used, and of course most of them have also negative effects that can either be just plain simple, or really not helpful in tight situations, but the burden is weighed by its great effect.

    For example, the best formation that has almost no negative effect on your stats is the heart formation, this formation increases your shield by 10%, HP by 20% and decreases laser damage by 5%, the biggest advantage here is having a 20% HP increase, with a bonus of 10% shield increase while only having a 5% laser damage decrease in the same process while the formation is in use.

    Many formations are in the shop and only the Lance formation that can be found in the assembly is exclusive and a craft-able formation so you cannot buy it in the store, it gives a 50% damage on mines whenever you place a mine while using the formation, it lasts until the mine is detonated by an enemy or friendly ship.


    DRONE DESIGN AND FORMATION COMBO EFFECT

    Here we discuss about my proposal, the goal here is to give an additional effect to whenever a ship has equipped their drones with a specific type of drone design and used a specific type of formation that will have an increased effect or a special type of boost.

    For example:

    (These are all examples, it needs more balancing)

    Using Heart Formation whilst equipped with the Hercules:
    • 10% HP Combo Bonus (50% total HP bonus)
    • 10% Shield Strength Combo Bonus (20% total Shield bonus)
    • Having a Visual blue glow effect on both ship and drones with Hercules
    • A capital "C" is placed beside the drone formation icon above the player's ship to remind others that this ship is currently under the Combo Effect
    Using Drill Formation whilst equipped with the Havoc:
    • 10% Laser Damage Combo Bonus (30% total laser damage)
    • Removal of the 5% Shield Spread decrease (Shield Absorption on damage)
    • Having a Visual red glow effect on both ship and drones with Havoc
    Using Chevron Formation whilst equipped with the Demon:
    • 15% Rocket Damage Combo Bonus (75% total rocket damage bonus)
    • Additional 5% Cool down decrease for the missiles (10% missile cool down decrease)
    • Giving an additional 10% damage to hellstorm rocket launchers
    • Removal of 10% Hp Decrease (10% HP decrease Penalty)
    • Having a Visual gray glow effect on both ship and drones with Demon

    Pincer Formation
    • 17% PvP Damage
    • 3% More Honor rewarded (PvP)
    • Penalty of 5% Shield Penetration
    Moth Formation (Balanced)
    • 5% Shield Penetration Bonus
    • 2% Speed Increase
    • Penalty of 5% Laser Damage Decrease
    Barrage Formation (Balanced)
    • 15% More Damage against NPCs
    • 2% Honor Rewarded for NPCs
    • 5% More Exp Rewarded for NPCs
    • Penalty of 5% Speed Reduction
    Double Arrow Formation (Balanced)
    • 10% Shield Penetration Bonus
    • 5% Laser Damage Increase
    • 2% Speed Increase
    • Penalty of 7% Less Shield Damage Absorption
    Drill Formation (Balanced)
    • 10% Laser Damage Increase
    • 5% More Laser Damage Against PvP
    • Penalty of 25% Shield Decrease

    Hercules Drone Design CE's

    Diamond Formation

    • Increase Limit on Shield regeneration on Combat by 7,500
    • 3% Shield Damage Absorption Increase
    • Penalty of 5% Speed Reduction
    Ring Formation
    • 10% HP Increase
    • 3% Shield Damage Absorption
    • Penalty of 5% Laser Damage and 5% Missile and Hellstorm Launcher cooldown increase
    Crab Formation
    • 10% Increase in Shield Leech
    • 5% Increase in Shield Power
    • Penalty of 5% Speed Reduction
    Dome Formation (Revision of my own, see below)
    • 20% Shield Increase
    • Penalty of 5% Laser Damage
    Turtle Formation
    • 15% Shield Increase
    • 5% HP Increase
    • Penalty of 2.5% Decrease on Laser and Rocket Damage


    Demon Drone Design CE's

    Star Formation
    • 25% Missile Damage Increase Against NPC
    • 25% Missile Range
    • Penalty of 17% Rocket Launcher Cooldown Increase
    Arrow Formation
    • 20% Rocket Damage Increase
    • Additional 10% Rocket launcher damage against NPCs
    • Penalty of 8% Laser Damage
    Chevron Formation
    • 50% Missile Damage Increase Against PvP
    • 50% Hellstorm Rocket Damage Against PvP
    • Penalty of 10% Laser Damage
    BOTH WHEEL AND VETERAN FORMATION ARE UNAFFECTED, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT GIVE ANY EFFECT ON DAMAGE NOR ON SHIELD INCREASE AND HP


    Dome Formation (Revision)
    • 30% Shield Increase
    • Regenerates 0.5% of your Maximum Shield power per second (Works in Combat, no limit)
    • 8% Shield Damage Absorption Increase
    • Reduces HP by 50%
    • Reduces Shield Leech by 30%
    • Reduces Speed by 25%
    The Dome Formation that i have revision is mainly for Cubing or Uber Farming, just in case you noticed that HP reduction is too huge, but the thing is it weighs the penalty from Herc that gives 20% HP bonus, so its a balance to choose between diamond or this formation (Diamond is more preferable for its combat Friendly Penalties)
    Shield leech is reduced because of the regeneration of the shields in combat without limit, the more shield you have, the better the regeneration, the speed reduction came from its original and dumb stats, i put it in halved in the level of crab, removed the laser damage and missiles, Rocket launcher cooldown to give it the same impression as using diamond but with much more penalties as it overpowers the diamond in terms of regeneration of shield and an additional shield increase.
    The 8% Shield Damage Absorption will help on the penalty of the HP decrease, the formation is not mainly used for PVP as because the speed reduction can hinder you in battle, being slow is bad.

    The DOME Formation is entirely not a useful formation after all even from my revision and estimations of a better bonus factor, the hindrance of 25% less speed from my own version is still not helpful against pvp and requires a more tactical approach and is not noob friendly either, unlike both drill and ring formation which is proved to be really useful.

  2. IMO the other formations don't need a buff. Havoc+Drill and Herkules+Heart sound too strong, especially Havoc +Drill would ruin the already ruined damage-shield balance. So add "against NPCs" and the idea would be fine.

    The most interesting part is:
    because Demon isn't good. But I would increase the additional bonus of the Rocket Damage to 115% and add a -7% laser damage penalty for countering Spectrum a little.

  6. Penetrating 30% would kill too many Ring formation players :/, on the other side
    Double Arrow doesn't penetrate enough.


    Instead of shield the formation should increase a little the HP to round the HP-shield balance.

    The current Dome is bad, these buffs wouldn't solve the true problems (no good role. It's bad for escaping, because it halved your speed. On the other side, it's bad in PvE /PvP, because it halves your laser damage and you can't chase anybody with your halved speed.) It should increase the laser damage/reduce the reduction to maybe 85% instead of 50%. Remove the shield bonus and decrease the speed reduction, so Dome wouldn't be useless.
    Strong credit formation ^^

    It's to similar to Chevron. It should fulfill another role (but the current Star is still bad), (some proposals, which could be add without removing the other buffs): it could increase your rocket range, damage NPCs in an area etc.
     
  7. i made the bonus effect for Chevron to make a usefulness for Star formation atleast to have more damage against npcs
