[SC] I HAVE A CONFESSION - I LOVE THIS GAME

Im possibly slightly drunk right now and this is probably the best time i could write about this. I first started this game in 2007, back when irises sold for over 70 million, credits were never refunded, delta gave you a triangle and shooting blue lasers meant you were untouchable.
I worked hard and got myself up to rank 27 on the server only for the server (garena) to be shut down, my work and money lost. I was so angry i quit for years only to take it up again in 2013. This time my account however was hacked by some Russian guy, after i got it up to rank 4, 3 star general and on of the strongest players in Global America 5. Again time and money sunk. I quit and for good, or so I thought. As history would repeat itself Im back again, starting from scratch.
I realized that i kept coming back to it because i love this game and somehow it has remained unchanged throughout the years in all its unreasonable farming requirements and money drain, and maybe thats why i play this game, perhaps thats why we all do, maybe we just like the challenge and we like to be the elite few.
For all the complaining that goes on and the pressure to make the game easier, I have a message for Dark Orbit. This game has never run because of new players flocking in, or because of its intense new graphics and gameplay attracts millions. Flash games are dying if not already dead. It has always been the loyal few. In this new age of 3d graphics and what not new players will never stick to this game for long save a few. It will always be us who back you up. It will always be our time and money that keeps funding you.
Do recognize this and take care of the loyal customers who were loyal to you and they will remain loyal. I hope you will have the wisdom to realize that trying to turn the game into something popular by public opinion will ultimately ruin the game. Take care of us.
I hope this time it will be better for me and i get to keep my account for a long time. And i salute all the oldies and wish the newbies good luck, and i tell this to you, you might find the astronomical farming painful now but try to stick to it, eventually it will pay off. Do not turn to botting or hacking. You will feel no pride or satisfaction in your achievements and you disrespect ours. Ultimately all you get is a 2d ship that shoots fat red lasers at poorly designed aliens. The work is what make the prize worth it. Put in the work. Enjoy guys.

I agree with everything that you said except:
Why would we do the astronomical farming when in the end we won't even be able to enjoy our account because:
-there are TONS of bugs
-there is A TON of lag
-flash dies
-ammo doesn't last for long
-there are pvp bots everywhere
-we fight tartarus and spectrum
-we can't help new players,who are the future game investors,from being bashed because of pushing bans?

 

The bugs I will give you as I has been a witness to a lot of them but the lag is something where specification needs addressing. Player connection, ISP Service, is a major contributor to lag and one should have there connections to and around the house checked out. Sometimes Lag can be greater due to increased player count and activity. Flash on the computer should be kept up to date and if necessary emptied. I have not had a flash death in months. Ammo is part of the game and a cause for tactical decisions. Some players have millions of ammo on hand while others are almost always out. You have to look at how you play and tweak it so you have ammo when you need it.

The bots are an issue all together that is coming to be a problem again both in pvp and pve.
The tartarus and the other ships just coming out are another new factor that the game designers are trying to get us to convert to. Don't expect them to admit it but at some point I can see them saying our beloved vengi and goli will go away.

All that said, I Love this game too. I don't have the time a lot of players apparently have to play but I get in time when I can because otherwise game withdrawals set in.

 

@watever, i like all the issues you have raised and i believe our friend psksundance has addressed most of them. I do agree that bots and bugs are an issue and this is why i discouraged botting in my thread. Also DO can put in more effort to get rid of the bots but while working with archaic code and trying to implement modern features for a modern computer they were never initially designed for i would always expect some bugs. Only solution would be a rework involving newer technologies and a downloadable client or something, same goes for flash deaths. But that aside any serious bugs hindering gameplay should be immediately addressed.

As for ammo you gotta work to get it, it has always been that way. Do gates and get ammo, do more gates for more ammo. Farm more uri for more gates or buy uri if youre lazy. Its just a way to create uri requirement so that we would spend some money on the game. This will not change. There will always be a ammo requirement.

As for newer players having to face stronger ships, this is where the community aspect of the game comes to play. Also one of the reasons why i love the game. Talk to people. Make friends. Talk to a UFE player and get him to help you. Join a clan. That FE player who is bugging you? Your UFE friend will eat him for breakfast. Its a game where you need others too. Also your progress in the game will be exponentially faster if you have help. If you are a new player and in GB1 inbox me and i would love to play with you and help you out. Why need an artificial software to help you when you can have a real life friend? Have fun
