  1. Happy days are here again ... well I have all my collectors at 20 (the one that will improve). Now I was wondering why the "Prometium, Endurium, and the Terbium collectors are not joining up with the Sky Lab. Nothing has changed.

    I was so looking forward to a whole skylab and was looking forward it become one.

  2. The visual does not change as you progress. Basically the collectors are space craft that scour the universe collect and transfer to the ship. Do you have the rest of the SkyLab up to level 20? if not you better start working on that or you will be crying you don'e have enough Seprom for Pilot Bio or Shield and laser boosts in the refinery tab in the maps.

  3. Help,

    Yes thank you again. Everything is at 20th level. It took a long time, but I did it.

  4. On my accounts (after the first one) it takes 30 days for everything except the Promerium and Seprom as they take sooooo long to get the final upgrades done, and I always calculated how much I could transfer to my ship so I did not lose any of the credit potential because the Prom was not producing.

    Early stages my Skylab was in a constant state of building, only time something was not building would be if I had everything complete in the middle of the night. The Basic Module was almost always in a state of build (it had to be a level above before starting anything else), followed by Solar and Storage Modules (always 1 level behind Basic Module), I would start the collectors as soon as materials were available to build all 3 at one time, at level 3 I started the build of the Prometid, Duranium, and Seprom Refineries and at level 5 I started the Promerium Refinery. Basic, Xeno, and Seprom would automatically be restarted as soon as I had collected the ores needed to start them followed quickly by Solar and Storage, then it was Promerium (looking at the build time) I would start Duranium and Prometid to finish at the same time as Promerium, then the collectors should have been able to get enough ore for the next level on them (but again I started them to finish with the refineries). At one point I did cheat and bought 12 robots for each collector (1800 Uridium) when I had a 2 day wait for the next start of their build, this one increase fixed it so I was no longer waiting for materials just the time to pass to start the next build.

    Because the Seprom was in constant build I was not creating it, so whatever Promerium was made, while waiting for collector ores, would be transferred for credits along with Prometid and Duranium when Promerium was not available or full cargo transfer. This method left me with 2 levels on the Promerium and 4 levels on the Seprom at the end of 30 days, everything else was up and running at level 20.

  5. Help,

    What about the Xenomit Module. It doesn't do anything. I have never seen one ore in the station, but I have build it up to 20th level. Do I ever see any benefits from it? Or does it just pass through to the next Module?

    Yup, the "Xenomit" module doesn't actually "produce" ore in the same way as the others, it just can only go straight into making Promerium(if it is working correctly anyway I'm pretty sure). As can see by the following screenshots, everything the Xenomit module "produces" just goes straight to the Promerium refinery to make Prom:

    *Though also as can see by the screenshot it produces Xeno and at the same time it doesn't... basically should just think of it as it cannot store/stock up Xenomit, it can only go straight to the Promerium refinery to make Prom. (confusing myself with that former sentence lol)

  7. As Kyro stated if you do not have it then the Promerium and Seprom Refineries are useless. If you read the beginners guide >SkyLab FAQ< You will see this;

    * NOTE *
    The Xenomit Refinery does have to be upgraded...
    as that ore is a necessary part of creating the Promerium and Seprom ores.
    However your useable Xenomit will always be zero.
    The Skylab only produces enough Xenomit for in lab production.
    You cannot send this ore to your ship.

    It is under the Refineries section. When I started playing D O it was explained this was a Synthetic substitute for Xenomit that was only useable in the SkyLab. The Xenomit is used in many aspects of PvP enhancement and D O makes this hard to get. They used to have it in the SHOP but the only way to buy it currently, is from the AUCTION and "Buy It Now" option but you get plenty from collecting Bonus Boxes and the Galaxy Gate Materializer (usually when using Multipliers). During the upgrade process you should have seen that it has a very quick build time compared to the 2 refineries that require the ore (Promerium production and Seprom as without Promerium there is no Seprom) and as long as the Promerium refinery was down (building) I would build Xeno in advance and was why it was one of the items built within the 30 days.

    Another FAQ that might be helpful is the >SkyLab Help< or >SkyLab Robots FAQ<. The help gives a better insight to the function of the different items and the Robots are helpful when trying to build quicker without spending for the Insta Build option. I still use 1 credit Robot a year to collect Prometium to send to the ship for "Prometium Deficiency" daily quest instead of trying to collect and sell it from the maps.

    Most of the information needed for the game can be found by looking at the FAQ Index, in my signature, or the Event FAQ found in the HELP forum under Event FAQ's. Even most of the Dark Orbit Bible, links to the FAQ's for information.

  8. Thank you again.

    I have saw that before how it was passing through in the Skylab. I was max out in Promerium production and Seprom and was wondering why Xenomit never had a drop in the bucket.

  9. Again the Xenomit is just something that is CONSUMED as made. You will never see it being produced or stored. But if you do not have it upgraded to the same level of the Promerium or turn it off, the Promerium Refinery will never be 100% efficiency in production. Because this is NOT an ORE but a formulation it is not stored and is not allowed to be transferred to the Ship for use and to prevent people from trying D O made the product where it never gets stored. People used to be able to transfer from the Ship to the SkyLab (has been removed as the need to transfer ore to start building has been removed) and they would ship Xenomit for storage to find it was used instead.

    Has anyone else noticed that the ore collectors are sporadically reporting 'Production: 0' when everything else is running smoothly? I just lost a day's production by switching off and on the ore collectors and refineries. Partly my fault but annoying

  11. Yes and I don't why too.

    Sometimes I do turn off production because I want the item before the one I turn off to make more. I have notice that the production going on when it is full too.

    Thanks WarriorAngus. Im glad it's not just me. SkyLab reporting used to be spot on. I will treat it with more scepticism in future. btw if anyone's interested I've developed SkyLab for a few ships now and my first goal is usually to max out the Promerium production for a non Premium account. That happens at about level 12. I think it is best done by applying some project management and treating Promerium production as being on the 'critical path'. I always plan for minimum Promerium production until level 12 by upgrading it to the next level at the earliest opportunity

    SkyLab Collectors now appear to lag a full minute before restarting, hence the confusion. No need for a bug report this time:)

  14. I have seen the production on my SkyLabs showing "0" but they are actually producing fine. This is a visual glitch but the lab is working just fine.

  15. Well Thanks All,

    I was wondering.

  16. Hi All,

    I just went to my other server to check my skylab. (For those who want to know why I have 2 servers. My first server died and was waiting for it to work/repaired so I could play. I stilled wanted to play, and the only way I could was to started another game on a different server. D. O. wouldn't let me transfer my stuff to a new server so I had to start over.) I have been trying to upgrade skylab. Terbium has been empty all this time. The last time I upgrade everything I just had a little bit left now there is nothing. What I did had, I used it to move all the modules up a level. that was at least 3 to 4 days ago. Yesterday I turned off Promitid so that my Terbium would fill up, but nothing happen. Both storage units are empty. I do have the Productivity Bonus activated on Terbium Module (all 3) so it will produce more and faster. Still nothing is happening. As we all know, Terbium is needed for upgrade and I'm dead in the water without it. All of the other minerals are full well except Xenomit which is never full. I have enough energy because my "Solar Module" is 700/1250 and is the second module in the skylad that is the higher level being "Basic Module' the highest.

    Your thoughts.

    To produce max Terbium switch off Duranium which is the only refinery that drains it

  18. Make sure the Terbium is ACTIVE, it could have inadvertently been turned OFF also. IF it is showing production then it is ON. As cred23 says if Duranium Refinery is at a higher level then it is going to use all of the collected resources instead of allowing it to store. Your collectors should be 2 levels above Prometid and Duranium and these should be 2 levels above Promerium for the SkyLab to be functioning to upgrade.

  19. Hi Cred23,

    Will do. Duranium was maxed out and all the above too is maxed out. All except the two I talked about.

    Angus

  20. IF your SkyLab is fully upgraded the only minerals you should have in stock (or concerned about) is Promerium and Seprom. If not fully upgraded remember the 2 level rule and you won't need to worry about production as the upgrade time required allows the minerals to be collected during the down time of the upper refineries. Items should be maced in this order;
    1. Basic Module (needs to be one level above to start any upgrade, not building)
    2. Storage, Solar, and Collectors
    3. Prometid and Duranium Refineries (should be level 18 when #2 is level 20)
    4. Promerium and Xenomit (should be building level 18 when #3 is level 20)
    5. Seprom (takes forever to build but is best done early in the game play BEFORE being needed for weapons)
    Currently I am using my SkyLab to complete 2 daily missions so I buy a credit robot for the Prometium once a year and turn off my Terbium for an hour and a half producing enough Prometid for a year of "Earn Credits" transfers. I have stores of Prometium, Endurium, Prometid, Duranium (very small as it is not completely depleted by Promerium Refinery), Promerium, and Seprom. When I deplete the Prometid below the required 1000 units I shut down the terbium again (transferring the accumulated Duranium first or have to extend the down time to allow it to be used up before starting my timer), causing my Prometium and Endurium to increase more. When my Prometium drops to <5000 units (required for "Prometium Deficiency" mission) I buy another credit robot and don't worry about it again for quite a while.

    I also am using Pilot Bio, PET Cargo, and Cargo Doubler to gain 12000 cargo bay for my Citadel (parked in 5-2 base) so I login once a day for my transfers (non-Premium 500 units per hour/Premium is 1000 per hour) and collect my Bonus at that same time.

    Following the above schedule for upgrading the SkyLab I had everything built to level 20 in 30 days to step 3 and only had the Seprom to finish after 45 days (dang that last build was LOOOOONNNNGGGG). I always started my Modules first, then the Promerium, looking at the time to complete the Duranium/Ptometid, would start them to finish with the Promerium and again looking at the time to complete would start the collectors to finish with everything else. The Seprom was in a constant build cycle, if I had the required ores it was building, and if had to wait I turned it off so I had maximum Promerium to transfer for credits. Because of the stagger I always had the minerals needed in time to get everything building so the SkyLab would be completely down for upgrading at the same time and at one point I did buy 1800 Uridium worth of robots (12 per collector) as I saw the consumption and collection was just off enough to need it and had 2 days to wait before starting the collectors building again.
