  1. I tried many times to upgrade an item, but all the attempts failed. If you are playing with 50% chance, that means either 1 successful attempt or 1 unsuccessful, but it does not mean that all the time you are gonna be unsuccessful. With all the respect, this is not about luck it´s about mathematics. So check your maths. I gonna make this clearer, if you tried to upgrade an item with 70% chance of success, that means that in 100 attempts ------------------>70 are successful attempts and ------->30 failed upgrading. So that if you failed more then 30%, for instance, 60/100, 70/100, 90/100, maths aren't working. Of course, it does not have to be precisely 30%, maybe it can be around this percentage.

  2. I'm not sure you know how probabilities work...

  4. Using 100% is always a lesser cost in the long run than to hope for a percentage.

Pretty much this. Even if some players followed that chart mentioned above, some feels lucky, some loses more Uridium that they could've lost with 100%. It's all about luck.

Yes. this chart is perfect in a best case cenario but ccmon this is do :p

  7. put it this way ive failed on a 100 % a good few times so have other players so yeh something is wrong with upgrade system how can 100 % fail lol

  8. There is no way you failed at 100% i have been playing for a long time and upgraded everything with 100% guaranteed. Yes sometimes it says the upgrade failed but if you look at the equipment after it did upgrade it just says it didn't. Enjoy

  9. i think youll find youre wrong there been playing since 09 and i have seen 100 % upgrades fail ask about its not a myth

  11. First lets get one thing straight the percentage of upgrade CHANCE is for that ONE UPGRADE it does not accumulate/stack/increase chances of future upgrades. Meaning you are hoping for the Upgrade to succeed at a savings. IF it were a PERCENTAGE that was stored then you might expect to see the 2 attempt completion (at 50%) but this is not the way it was setup to work.

Just like the Gates with CHANCE Rewards, you are not guaranteed to get anything every time you complete the gate. You have a CHANCE to be rewarded something every time you complete the gate but this CHANCE does not increase with every completion you did not get rewarded.

Even if you were playing since 06, it doesn't change the fact. There's been one bug in 2013 which caused 100% upgrades fail but which was patched later on and there's no way to fail upgrade at 100% because it's not a chance anymore, it's upgrade.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Each time you upgrade it is an individual occurrence it is not cumulative, as stated above.

    To put it another way.
When you flip a coin there is a 50% chance it will land on heads and 50% chance it will land on tails. (not including the less than 1% chance of landing on its side) Each flip of the coin is an individual occurrence. You can not count the previous outcome in determining the result of the next flip of the coin.
Each upgrade, like flipping the coin, is an individual occurrence. So, when you select 50% you are in essence flipping a coin.

Does the OP have any further questions?

    Thanks,

    EHD

  14. Actually, It was quite glitchy some time back, and DarkOrbit is known for bringing back it's bugs, it's been proven that people have Failed 100% upgrades, and not gotten the actual upgrade itself.

  15. That's surprising to me cause even though i have only played since 2012 and only ever used 100% to upgrade and i am UFE and have never failed an upgrade but i have seen a few times it said the upgrade failed but when i click to check the item has always upgrades. Before 2012 wouldn't know about that. Enjoy

at the end of the day one thing is positive. a game of chance is "GAMBLING"
your taking the "chance" of upgrading. thought this was a "space game"
i know bigpoint don't have a "gaming licence" in my state.
and i know those under the age of 21 can't gamble in this country. (lottery or casino)

  17. Personally I've never had an upgrade fail, I use 100% and it has worked 100% every time.

I think "Chance" was the very worst thing introduced to this game but that's just another topic already expressed by me

    Enjoy the game ;)

  18. I had it once, and showed the proof to support, but they did their usual "What's a bug?" crap, later on they admitted it was an issue, someone else had it from GA1 as well that I knew.

  19. 1 occurrence or 100 occurrences the math should still work out to 50% approximately. I always thought this upgrage system was a joke, same as the gates. If you pay for an upgrade or finish a gate that cost a fair amount of resources you should get the reward. who cares if someone has huge amounts of items you can only use so many on 1 ship at a time. Get rid of the chance, if it was a reasonable cost that had no chance involved then more players would upgrade more equipment to build up more ships. This should be the direction now that all the ship designs are in different hangers.
