  1. Okay so i have a pretty well gaming PC with a core i5-6600k overclocked to 4.3 GHz constantly. It seems i cant play 2D smooth anymore as i could back 2 years ago. And its weird how people who have older pc's can play 2D crystal clear. Or people who have the latest i7's or Ryzens' can run it. I also have windows 10. It seems 2D may run better on windows 8 and 7? Someone help and make this clear thanks!

  2. I know there have been other threads about the Windows 10 and issues with D O and it. There is a guy in the Forums, ŁÁĞÏ™, is his name but calls himself the tech expert for the forums. Click >THIS< and it will send you to his post and it is about the Windows 10 and WiFi issues. He is the best person to help you with this issue IMHO.

  3. Thanks HelpMeHelpYou for the reference.

    Hello gates324321,

Firstly, when you say "It seems i cant play 2D smooth anymore as i could back 2 years ago", what setup did you have back then, was it the same as the system you have now, or was it older spec back then? Also, in what aspect does the smoothness lack, is it your frame rate or just basically the game runs like poop? A nice detailed report of how your game performs helps me work out a possible cause and also helps me determine any possible fix.

Could you post your full system spec for me please so I can get a better idea of what you have installed in your machine. And if you can, can you grab the current RAM Timings your system is running with, download a copy of CPU-Z to get a better idea of what you have in your system. Also, let me know which browser you are using, and have you tried 3D, or is 2D a personal preference for yourself which you prefer?

    Regards,

    LAGI.

  4. Well im a tech savy guy and this game baffles me. Its the same setup just a different OS. And its wierd i have 61 fps when flying but the minute a cube opens or 3 ppl fight on my screen it drops to about 30-40 fps and i feel it should 100% not be doing that given the i5-6600k i have. I have tried reinstalling adobe, downgrading adobe, and latest adobe, nothing seems to work and at this point im set to think its windows 10.

Specs: Asus z170-A Mobo, 8 gb DDR4 2400mhZ ram, core i5-6600k, gtx 760(old ik but this is for 2d so)

  5. If the post is about system problems I try to direct them to you for assistance. I try when it is a Browser issue as I have dealt with a few of then myself. But as your signature says YOU are the Forum PC Tech Support.

  6. Have you tried experimenting with Flash Player Beta releases, currently adobe labs are popping out beta builds of Flash Player 28. On another note, are you using FireFox? And if so, I am going to assume it is 64bit.

And HelpMeHelpYou, with Darkorbit, as noted by many, it is strange how it performs over so many different systems and different components and operating systems, it will never make its mind up where it will work the best, and as things are changing so much, software and hardware, it is hard to keep up with the way DarkOrbit works nowadays.

I am currently sitting on a Core2Duo Quad Q6600 @ 2.8ghz with a silent GT730 with 4GB and still have stable performance with DarkOrbit, not to mention my browser and system is tweaked to high heaven to accommodate the game.

  7. Well Ive tried a line of browsers like chrome, iron, firefox, comodo, opera, waterfox, comodo icedragon. This has been so frustrating i dont get it. and no i have not tried beta releases. DO 2D just makes no sense in my opinion

  8. Have you ever had a look at Palemoon? It is a complete rebuild of the firefox code from the ground up, and is no where near as intensive as Firefox itself.

From experience and reading several articles and/or forums in several places, Firefox 64bit (Or 64bit browsers in general) seem to have a thing with flash player, as far as I know and have noticed myself, 64bit FireFox is a pain when working with flash player, so I tried Firefox 32bit with DarkOrbit on a 64bit system, and noticed a significant improvement, but like I say, DarkOrbit is such a strange game, that performance will fluctuate so much based on the slightest difference in a system setup.

  9. I'll take a look at 32-bit and palemoon. Im so happy im not the only one having this problem

  10. I am continuously playing with my browsers and system settings to find ways to make DarkOrbit smoother and/or easier to use based on performance.

Like my latest thing i have been playing with is forcing the wmode= of the flash object (DarkOrbit) to direct/gpu, so the gpu does more work compared the default of which darkorbit is set at by the devs or coders, it does make a slight difference, as a little of the load is taken off the CPU and dropped on the GPU, or the GPU just helps out a little.

Also CoreParking is nice thing to research, as when cores become unneeded in your system, they are "parked" or made dorment until a CPU cycle wakes them up if they are needed. Disabling CoreParking causes all cores to be constantly available and share the load compared to 1 or 2 cores taking the beating while the other 2 drink tea and discuss the weather.

  11. Could you explain how to set these two things up? both the wmode and coreparking thanks!

  12. For coreparking, you need a copy of ParkControl, of which can be obtained through a quick search on Google, I can't post the link here because of forum rules. Just load it up, and Disable all the core parking settings, this will make all cores available.

The wmode is a bit more indepth and involves running a UserScript within Palemoon (Which I use, but can also be used with firefox) using a Script Manager like GreaseMonkey for example, I will post up a quick write up in due course, as I work nights and am going to bed very soon.

  13. Alright cool thank you ill keep this in my watches.
