To be fair, Im aware this is running flash which in of itself isn't too well optimized in general, and before anyone asks, my specs (The most pertinent at least) are as follows:
    CPU: I7 3820
    GPU: GTX 980
    RAM: 12 GB
To eliminate any other questions, My parts are all overclocked and not overheating (all the parts are getting clean power from the PSU as well), thus I feel like I shouldn't be getting 50 FPS with drops down to 30. I do get 60, but the moment I shoot anything, the frame rate stutters, sometimes significantly (adding support for higher refresh rates such as 120hz and 144 hz would be great).

The problem is that Flash cannot support anything of these and if happens so they make the client which does not use Flash, it might be even possible. Not sure how BSGO is made, but it runs on client and I'm happy about it.

Mind to elaborate a bit what you mean? :p

  3. By 2020 D O is going to have to KNOW Computer stuff as FLASH as we know it will be GONE, many online games took the bull by the horns and switched to HTML5 (from what I have read) when Adobe made the announcement that they were not going to support the FLASH as there were too many bugs/glitches associated with it and all of the different platforms using it.
They have trouble dealing with the CODE of 11 years of Development, do you really think they know Computer Technology? They employ Computer Techs to maintain their servers as they are Software Literate not Hardware, is what I assume `°ƒµll·†Ħгô††lє°´, means with his statement.

  4. I think a downloadable part of the game will be the answerer in the future once the merge happens with lots of players in the maps you think 50 fps is good it will dwindle to 20 if we are lucky. I hope something new comes out sooner than later.

I mean, having a downloadable client would be great, especially if they could convert the assets into something like unrealengine that can leverage the GPU even more. It appears as if the entire team of DO cant do very well with programming seeing as there are still bugs since new client released.

  6. They never got rid of the Original 2005 Code and as such they have GLITCHES when they add stuff, especially since none of the Original Coders work for them.

So its essentially a bandage over a many year old bleeding wound. Greaat. Comically even on 3d mode, my GPU only reaches 10% utilization.

  8. who else is waiting for one of the devs to drop in and use the solution they have for everything " if this happens again clear you're browsers cache and cookies "

You will be surprised, but the truth is clearing you cache solves 80% of the problems users have.

Does the OP have any further issues? If you wish to keep the conversation going I can move it to Speakers Corner for you.

    Thanks

Im just concerned, that even if clearing the cache is a solution, its a temporary one until better code can be implemented. But go ahead and move it so others can still contribute if need be.

  12. Because Flash.

Darkorbit is, I believe, one of the biggest (size wise) Flash games out there. Flash is simply not good enough to run something as massive as Darkorbit, and for you to be able to run it at 50+ FPS, you would need INSANE hardware + software for it to just push a little bit into it.

Thankfully, Darkorbit is ready to move to HTML5 once Flash is gone. I'm just hoping they'll turn the game into a downloaded client base instead of browser. Darkorbit is indeed one of the largest browser games, but now it's too big, and they have to move out to get more space.

And here's a GPU & CPU utilization graph, for those that understand it (thank you ElMeiser from Reddit):

Darkorbit simply cannot utilize much of the computer's GFX card and CPU, which really sucks.
I have a beast of a gaming computer & laptop that cannot get Darkorbit to more than 20 FPS on an EMPTY MAP. Add in any players and farming, I'm always around 15 FPS or less.

I have no idea how gamers like TerrorTheLegend on YouTube manage to get 60+ FPS constantly.

    by clearing the cache...

flash stores data there, and seeing how chrome is an really nice guy *irony* regarding RAM. it's super duper easy to get good FPS...

good thing that Unity's browser extension is a bit optimized, wich explains why 3D is lighter than 2D... such bad optimization after years is a great example to why there is a super popular game out there that is just as terribly optimized.

at least bigpoint is moving on with the times *irony*

  14. I do clear the cache often, but still doesn't do the trick xD

  15. I constantly have 60 fps. I clear cookies/flash each hour, usually.
My computer is approx. 2 yrs old and was a "beast" 2 yrs ago..........

  17. Lately, if I play more than an hour without re logging, my flash has been crashing.
Really is a pain in da butt.................O-o.................

i play on a computer thats aprox 4 years old and i always clear the cookies and all that before i log into the game.i don't have AS MUCH lag as i used to but i'd like to know how to judge my fsp. anyone?. thanks

  19. Computer is Gateway FX-6000 (yes, 10 years old). 9G ram; 1G video card. Still running Vista and using Firefox with a cable modem.
FPS can vary between 30 and 60 - on very busy time periods the fps can drop to 5-15 briefly then it catches up again..
I clear cache every hour or so; if I don't I can see a lot of video stutter on the client and the back page has a tendency to want to be re-logged.
Even with a re-log though, once a week I need to re-boot the system to catch what a cache clear and CCleaner may miss.

  20. My buddy found out that for some reason 2D doesn't work at all on Windows 8+ but it works on Windows 7, I tested it and its true I can't run 2D on windows 8+.

3D works fine in all platforms. Maybe thats your problem not your specs or anything its the actual 2D version of the game that is too crap for your computer.
