[SC] DAMAGE REPORT

  1. Hi All and DO,

    Well its me again. I was out fighting aliens. I was in my Citadel this morning and I noticed something. When I used my Rocket Launcher, it was giving out 100,000 to 125,000 points of damage. I was watching the Alien's hit point and shield bar. It barely moved showing little damage. The damage showing up on the hit points/shield bar using the rocket Launcher was the same movement of damage as laser and single rocket. They move about the same. The damage bar should move more than 4 time more then with Laser and single rocket which was doing 15,000 and 2,000 total of 17,000 points of damage.

    I noticed this on Blighted Gygerthrall and Kristallon as well as other after I used my Launcher for the first time this morning. Mostly on these because I wanted to watch a salvo of my launcher. That is the first time I realized that my launcher did so much damage, but it didn't show on the damage bar. It took just about the same amount of time to kill with laser and single rocket.

    The damage bars were move differently. Rocket Launcher should have dropped the bar much more than the Lasers and single rocket, but it wasn't. Is there a problem here?

    Don't know about this but shouldn't be even possible. Tried with two lvl 16 and got around 80-90k damage with both equipped UBR-100 rockets.
     
  3. Pilot Bio, Damage Boosters, Targeting, all effect the "HIT" ratio of the rockets and as the description;

    Your rocket launcher will fire salvos of UBR-100 rockets. Their optimized warheads are at least 80% more effective against aliens, and they also utilize the multi-angle damage feature of conventional Hellstorm rockets.

    Looked at D O Bible and it is 4000/7200 damage points per rocket.


    This is telling you you will get at least 80% more damage against NPC over PvP battle not the actual damage caused. The only real way to find out the actual damage is to Launch 100 of these rockets INDIVIDUALLY, average the results then multiply by 10 and this should be the damage seen, or take the highest and lowest results and have the RANGE you could see, but then you are not 100% guaranteed all rocket will "HIT" without the Targeter also.

    There are several visual glitches being reported in the ORBIT lately and this could be one of them. What I would do is Fire the Rockets only, "Spacebar" or the loaded Launcher icon (5 colored dots, seen in ammo selection area) and verify the damage, remember the individual rocket may be seen in this damage report also. I am not sure if the Citadel shows 2 of these or just the one for 10 shots, but you could fire it as the first rocket is loaded and get all individual results for every rocket fired, but the damage reports are not complete unless we know what other variants are added to the points displayed.

    Using the information provided by D O you should only see 72000 damage from the Rockets ONLY so we need to know the added BOOSTS you have to be able to compare the 2 results.

    This is what I was flying and had and at the ready/on:

    1. Citadel Elite: Bonus 5% Damage
    2. Hellstorm Launcher 2 Level 16th both: Fires 10 Missiles was loaded with UBR-100
    3. Use Seprom for rockets: Bonus +60% Fire Power
    4. Precision Targeter: Bonus Increase Normal Rockets by 100%
    5. 10 Drones all 16th Level: 1 with Epic Demon and 1 with Silver Demon others 6. had Hercules and Havoc mixed.
    7. Skill Tree: Heat-Seeking Missile: Increase Hit Points 10%
    8. Rocket Fusion: 15% more damage
    9. Damage Boosters: Bonus +20%

    I think this is all I have going on at the time of firing. I am pretty sure I read the numbers right. I was shocked too seeing 100,000 damage points.

    As I was replying back to you, I was just out and tried again only firing my 10 rockets only at a Kristallin. 101,000+ instance kill., and I didn't have Precision Targeter on. Tried another Kristallin 113,000+ instant kill.

    Boss Kristallin 4 salvos to kill with the 1st salvo the most 123,00+, all the other salvos were over 100,000 now this was fired with config 2. All Drones are 16th Level and All have Silver Demon.

    1. Elite Bonus 3600
    2. Upgrade 4320
    3. Seprom 43200
    4. no misses all damage counts
    5. Correct me if wrong but this is laser damages increased right
    6. your HP increased
    7. Fusion 10800
    8. Boosters 14400
    Total should be 148320 unless I missed a calculation somewhere.

    No you don't miss anything.

    5. Yes and No.
    a. I have two Drones that have Demons and they give 1% bonus to Rocket Damage per Drone. The rest have Hercules and Havoc.
    b. Configuration 2 has all 10 Drones with Demons which is 10% Damage Bonus plus 5% Rocket cool Down Reduction having all drones with Demons.

  7. Well you got the point that you could/should be getting higher than seen damages if using the UBR-100 Rockets with Precision Targeter causing 100% hit.

    Except that Precision Targeter does not work on hellstorms, as well as not on special rockets such as DCR, ICR and PLD.
     
  9. Might want to double check this as I see the Hellstorms with the red bubble just like the regular rockets and the FAQ does not specify anything except "Rockets".

    Dunno what you talking about, but regularly you shoot normal rocket and hellstorms at the same time, looks confusing.

    When the string was started, it was about how much damage my ship gave. I was shocked. I don't normally use this ship, and when I did wow. I was looking at the damage bar on the aliens I was attacking. It didn't move very much firing lasers with single rocket. I added my Rocket Launcher to the mix. That is when I notice all this damage popping up (6 figures), but the damage bar didn't move like I thought. It moved just as much as my laser and single rocket damage did. My rocket launcher was giving 4 to 5 times more damage as my laser and single rocket was. Then why wasn't the damage bar move likewise. I wanted to know if this was a DO program fault or something else and to let DO know what I noticed too.

    Then we started to talk about my damage report. Help, looked at what I have and what I should have. I don't know how he does that, but he knows a lot about this game. So I'm impress with his knowledge. With his figures, I should have done more damage. I'm all for killing aliens faster.

    I hope I answer your question and you understand where I'm coming from.

  12. HSTs are always 100% hit, they do not miss.
    And I believe upgrading with Seprom does not increase HST damage, but I will include anyway.

    Damage Breakdown
    Damage tends to scale within 80% of your maximum potential damage.

    Each UBR rocket deals 7,200 DMG pts (NPCs)
    A single UBR rocket will deal a minimum of 5,760 (80%) to 7,200 (100%) pts of damage.
    Factor in the 10 shots the Cit can do, that's 57,60 to 72,000 pts of damage.
    With the launcher at level 16, that would be 61,056 to 76,320
    Elite Cit's 5% damage boost takes it to 64,108 to 80,136.
    Seprom's +60%: 102,574 to 128,217.
    +20% Damage Booster (01 & 02): 123,088 to 153,861.

    Hopefully, my calculations are correct.

  14. well they are wrong as seprom doesn't count to rocketlauncher, it never did and never will.
    If you don't believe test it by firing hst only and you will see no rocket updates being used

    So I'm wasting my Seprom in Rockets? If it is a waste then why can I put it there. The only place I can't put Seprom is Speed Generators. I have tried.

    actually, even drone designs don't work with it. only a formation that increases damage for it (were it to be added) as the damage from the rocket launcher is a diferent one from the regular rockets (within the client that is).

    so yeah, waiting for bp to release a 100K uri formation that does 5% extra rocket launcher damage someday.
