[TI] randomly uncloaking

I cloak and get uncloaked over and over while the only thing around was npc's. My clan mates think its my pet shooting aliens and uncloaking me. I remember this happening several years ago. From my best recollection DO corrected that so the pet would not do that. I have not had this issue in a long time till last night and today. I went thru a 50 cloak chip trying to stay cloaked.

So my two part question. Am I wrong about DO fixing that? And is anyone else having issues with it.

1-6, 2-6, 2-7, 3-7 I hunt alone on a regular basis. This is def. something new. I cloak up am looking for a player to attack, before i find one I realize the aliens are shooting me and I am uncloaked. Once ok i hit a emp mine twice maybe but over and over is not right.

 

So true, if they start once and you don't leave map, they will definitely find you again. NPC are evil that way. Your pet should only start shooting once you are shot at or start shooting. Other than that, I got nothing, sorry....

 

To avoid this from happening, yes I've experienced this same issue over the past week or so, I keep my PET on auto loot until I engage in battle. Once in battle, depending on how far away my PET is I either turn it to guard mode (R) or turn it off and hit (R) right away then it's there right away to assist.

I also thought this was odd, just seems recently this issue has come around again.

must be something new....i've had aliens shoot me while cloaked but it didn't uncloak me.

if you set your pet to guard mode welst flying cloaked it will give an issue sometimes either that or you are maybe playing low graphics and cant see emp mines untill you hit them maybe ? other then that i dont no

 

The only time I have had NPC's attack me when I was cloaked was when I had been in a map killing and cloaked and the NPC's that had a lock on me before cloaking would continue to attack me, usually stop if out of range for 60 seconds. Uncloaking I have seen when warping ships, or changing configs IF you do not have the chip on both configs but you are cloaked again when switching back to the config with the cloak chip. You can also be uncloaked by another player, who is cloaked, if they set off an EMP-01 burst and you are within its range to uncloak you. As stated by ~turnip~ you could be missing the Blue/Brown Ball Mine that looks like the image below (would have supplied the actual image but they have the EMP-01 pictured instead) and that will blow your cloak also, some players hide them under Bonus Boxes and Booty Chests to uncloak botters.

I , myself have had the issue of being un-cloaked upon returning to the game client after logging out. Whenever I log out I turn my cloak on no matter what map I'm in when it's time for me to take my leave. There I do a quick inventory of my ship during the 20 sec [ non premium ] logout account I have.
Knowing I am cloaked in a safe place at my logout point , I may return in several hours or longer just to discover after the game client opened. There is about a 10 second to 1 min pause before I have ship and map loaded before I have any command functions ... I am being attacked by a group of NPC and I am already un-cloaked during this past week.
I let the incident go for the first time and figured it could of been an internet connection speed between the up and download latency ms. Then there was a second time and I got a little disturbed and got popped again by a group of NPC . So I decided to reconfigure my ship on first config to "Tank" with "Ring" to essentially have in my mind enough shielding and firepower to thwart off an attack upon logging into the game client.
I believe DO just did a Major server upgrade to all US and Global America as well as Brazil and Mexico servers this past week in preparation for the migration of servers.
For me when I experience many of the "Issues" DO is having to code the multiple OS and Browser's and stay 2 steps ahead in order of the survival of this MMORPG is a feat all by itself.
