Multi-Company Clans - What to do?

  1. Fair enough. You at least put some thought into it.
    It took me a while to get used to seeing enemy co.'s flying together. One simple solution would be to not allow group invites from an enemy co. That could probably be an easy adjustment in window. Just like when you attack a member of your own co. and you get the warning at the top of the screen.Invite would be auto-denied " You cannot invite enemy players into group" They still have the option of flying together ,just not in the same group.

    I have read most of posts on this thread... sorry if I missed it ( if already said), but isnt Dark Orbit a COMPANY game. When you register an account you have to choose a COMPANY to join, then if you want to join a CLAN in that COMPANY. You are not asked if you would like to be in ALL COMPANIES as that is a violation of the game rules.
    So that means MCCs are a violation of the rules.... not to mention an unfair advantage in events that give COMPANY / CLAN rewards as you have to fight several companies and your own company in the event.... when it should be COMPANY against COMPANY.

    If MCCs are going to be allowed, then they should be disqualified from event prizes... but not the mission rewards these are there for all.
    No player should get a same company kill as a count for any event / mission... same as it has always been, you kill same company player you get negative honor / ep and does not count as a kill. If they continue to pop same company they get the RED TARGET and are fair game for all players to pop.. same as it has always been. If they assist an enemy company in a kill on their own company same should apply even if they did not take the first shot.. as this is used a lot ... maybe make it so no one can actually fire on a same company player, like the set up for new players that are under company protection.
    I do not agree with MCCs at all as it is against the basis of the game. You can always ALLIE an enemy company clan ... that has always been there. But a clan should only in 1 company........ as it stands now there are clans in all 3 companies under the same clan name making a joke of the game and impossible to defend against those clans ..
    As mentioned before on discord.. MCCs are meant to be abolished when the servers merge.... I hope this happens for the benefit of the game.

  3. As has been stated many times the MCC has been a part of DO for a very long time. The Same Company Assisted kill has never generated negative honor (and is the benefit from MCC) but should be, as you stated a part of the Game many games do not allow any SAME FACTION FIGHTING, so there are no mis-locks, accidents, assisted killing, or any other excuse for having opened fire on the ship. They fixed the Cargo Drops so they can not be STOLEN (even from enemy killed NPC's) so they should be able to do this.

    The reason MCC has become the problem it is now is that the populations have dropped so low there is no one able to fight these monsters and put them back in their hiding hole.
     
  4. Well I was behind on the Twitch but after I finished watching it I have to say DO is falling into the same problem that killed the game 3 years ago by not FLAT OUT putting an end to Multi- Company clans when the merge takes place.
    Multi-Company clans killed the game( In respect to players quitting;IE dead Server) back then and you are worried about them being mad, Take a stand for all the players that quite when this was allowed, because if you do nothing when the merge takes place this Game is going to Die again and there will be no coming back this time even after the Merge because of Multi-Company Clans.

    All the players quit years ago because of getting killed by their own company so the game died and this is a reason you had to do a merge. If after the merge you allow Multi-Company clans the same thing is going to happen, I cant believe no one see's this.

    Plain and simple; Give the multi-company clans a fast time period of 48-72 hours to switch to the same company and if not then they get automatically kicked by the system from the clan.... Period !!

    If you don't take care of this at the time of the merge , this game will die yet again, mark my words, I called it 3 years ago when Multi-Companies were allowed I even set support emails telling them people are quitting because of this and then Look what happened.

    DO you cant wait 4 -6 months to maybe do something about it because by then it will be to late.

    nothing needs to be done but a tweaking of rules that already exist. The honor system in dark orbit, it determines how much credits you get for ore, it determines rank within the company. DO (company) could also throw in other little perks that are based on honor. maybe a token experience bonus. Let these bonuses apply to bonus boxes as well based on honor. When a pilot signs on with a MCC or other foreign clan (with out first defecting) their Honor is capped at 500 (green crosshairs rank). They LOSE all company honor based rank, perks (no leo buff) (honor based demil zones) and other bonuses and an avoidable ship affecting dmg/shld/hp token penalty that is always applied irregardless of who shot first because in the "companies eyes" they are rogue pilots and Honor is given to the pilot dishing out some justice (Red Crosshairs rank). In the case of a ship that signs with a foreign clan they must use the CLANS HOME BASE for respawn and gets Demil in the CLANS HOME MAPS only. All players would still retain normal experience and honor values for determining server rankings. Heres the best part people. Its all done within the existing rule structure, no-one is FORCED into anything, everybody gets to continue playing the game they wish to play and suffer the consequences accordingly. Please players don't push DarkOrbit into something that doesnt need to be changed.

    DO said months that they would put an end to MCCs ready for the server merge.. that all MCC players would have a set time ( 2 weeks I think it was) to move company FREE OF CHARGE without loss of rank, etc. So why now are they going back on this when they know how much the majority of players hate the existance and unfairness that having MCCs causes ?

    I see we are at it again. We speak out and DO only has deaf ears. There are 20 pages of comments from 386 replies which I know are from more than one person like me. 24,060 people have review this topic. Now I would think that looking at the numbers it might be important. As an owner, I would like to know what my people/players think. As an owner, I would want my game to be the best, and if there is a problem try to fix it. Well DO I see no fix. In this post there are several people who has ideas that will help the game, but NO you can't read or hear your users. Because the Warrior Wallets pay big bucks to you doesn't make it right. We also pay and we also want the rules to be apply to all. I think this is the largest single post that has been posted that isn't a standard FAQ or something like that.

    DO fix this problem and listen to they people who play. I don't know where to look, but reading some posts' from others it looks like the numbers are not going up but down. That is one of the reasons I think DO is server merging. To have more people in a server and they also don't have to support a little used server, which saves them money too.

  8. Got the solution!!! Got it when i saw Goliath Saturn, finally make the 4th company "SATURN", and for that company disable MCC so that people who doesn't like MCC goes there and problem solved. Isn't this a great idea? :D

  9. In my opinion inter company clans should not be allowed. Clan members should be formed by the same company. This inter company thing is messing up the game. For instance the Damener event when shooting it a MDR member clan began to shoot me from VRU named unstoppable so I shot him back and almost poped him but 3 EIC members from the same clan as him shot me because he was same clan as them. This is messing up the game do something ? On the second thought the support dont care so let the inter company clan be and people quit the game. Merging the server will not fix the issue the game is going down because they allow inter company.

    I do not believe that DO has any intention of getting rid of MCC.They can merge or whatever and it still wont work.Those clans will have just as many players and be in all 3 companies under alliances as before the merge.Yes the MCC's are already planning to still have their MCC,but just have alliances with each branch in each company.The only way to avoid this is to keep all alliances and NAP in the company they are in.This means no alliances or nap with other companies.This will open the game up more and allow more players to participate in everything--especially events that are totally dominated be the MCC.
    Until such time as DO realizes that this is the main cause of the loss of players and very few new players they will continue to loose players.So far they have shown a sense of not caring abut the problem.The best way to get them to do something is to attack their pocketbook and not purchase anything for a few weeks.This might get a response from them.

  11. Yes they do not care nor listen, hence this is why the game died a few years ago and it will die yet again a few months after the merge for the same reason as before MCC's. But it's there choice/ it's there game and they can do what they want.

    I know 12 players that have held on for the merge because they heard some time ago that DO was going to do the merge and at the same time get rid of MCC's. They have said that after the merge if MCC's are not gone they will finally quit, PERIOD.

    I have had it as well with the back and forth, being told one thing and to find out it was a lie from DO so I will also be quitting if the MCC's are not gone; all my 8 ships through out the servers. We can find a better game where the community of players are listened to for the good of the game.

    You are right. The merger will get read of people, but it won't be the MCC. It won't be the wallet warrior either. It be the little guys who are the back bone of the game.

There are many "Wallets" that have left this game over the years and there are many more that will be leaving with the Merge of the servers as long as the MCC are left to their control of the events. The addition of the LF-4 and creation of the extra Galaxy Gates was the first wave of wallet desertion, The Hangar PvP Fiasco had a bunch sitting on the sidelines waiting for over a year to see if the ship kill issue would be fixed so they could complete the "Ship Required" missions.

    The only TRUE fix to the MCC issue is to do nothing with the CLANS, BUT when the MERGE is done they are transferred to a SINGLE server where ALL KNOWN MCC Players are merged together and allow them all to fight for supremacy among the same minded BULLIES that they all are. There are some of the MCC who are not doing anything except friends playing together to complete PvE quests (4-5, Pirate, enemy territory, etc.) and not killing everything in sight just because they can with the assist of same company members, but using the Company Chat to let others know the enemy player is not there as a threat to anyone except NPC's.

    I just realized that my servers General, isnt just flying for a MCC clan but is flying with a foreign Clan. THATS AS BROKEN AS IT GETS. I've tried to be a voice of reason and an advocate for a tweaking of the present honor system to police the issue. THATS WHERE I DRAW THE LINE. I will not support a game that endorses gamemanship over sportsmanship. There is a difference gentleman. Players should always have a chance for success or escape however small that may be. For DO to go along with such play turns the average player into nothing more than clays on a shooting range and the time, effort and the occasional dollar wasted to the veracious appetite of the UFE player and the DO uri banking system. Im a simple fella i found a game i like and i play. DO all i have to do is instead of buying uri everynow and then, buy a console. And my wallet will be happier and heavier for it. I guess ill be paying even closer attention to this issue.

  15. Hi All,

    DO like's us to fight each other, and makes' it a must if you do missions. Most of my missions that are left are attacking players of different companies or type of ships. I have used up most of my missions on aliens, and the ones I do have are on 4-5. That is one sector I normally keep away from. Oh I do go there sometimes, but it is too deadly for me. I usually get into fighting aliens and next thing I know I'm killed by another player because I'm weak from fighting aliens. I try to fight back most of the time if I have some shields and Hit Points left, but other times I just sit there a wait. I'm too weak and it is a waste of ammo. So they get their jollies and I return to base. If I don't go back that day, I go to my normal hunting grounds and hunt for aliens trying to build up experience points hoping to make another level one day for me or my P.E.T..

    Sometimes when I do go back the same day, the same person (or several pilots) are still there waiting for the next victim. They usually find me again, and I'm a goner. If I get killed twice in one day I'm done. I turn off my computer and do something else like read a book.

    I'm not on long about an hour a day. Some of that time is spent on longing on to two different servers so I get the daily bonus for each ship, and then I fight one of the two servers. Right now I'm on the weaker ship to make levels. The rest of the time I use it here to read and write on the forum.

    There are some great guys/gals and smart ones too. Have a nice day and good hunting. I'm done for the day. You all keep writing and I will read you commits and add my two cents too now and then.

    OK... so MCCs have taken all maps that you could possible make some EP/ Honor & Uri on.
    Not only are they controlling EVERY Demaner and shooting all players not in their clan off it... but now ALL X-6 maps are filled with them too. So no chance to get a single cube towards the EPIC missions I have running. With all the level 4 protocols they are collecting from the Demaner and ammo you cant even defend yourself as they are far stronger than all other UFEs . So anyone lower than that is just cannon fodder and FREE kills for them.
    I think its time to say goodbye after 4 years of playing... the enjoyment in this game has gone as there is a massively uneven playing field, where

    Dark Orbit only rewards and supports the MCCs. The rest of us are worthless and not even worth the time to read our posts or comments.

    The fact that MCCs are a violation of the BASIC RULES of this game seems to mean nothing to them. They are free to keep PUSHING any player that may be the slightest threat to their points position. I say this as I was shot off the same demaner 6 times yesterday by 2 MCC players to stop me and anyone else not in their clan from getting a single shot on Demaner. I say 2, it was more that sat waiting and not shooting demaner, but just 2 names in log. Same players every Demaner getting rewards...

    OP32 .. you asked the questions and for our opinions by starting this thread. SO why have you not read, replied or done a single thing about the blatant one sidedness that is now in the game

    So many words to say a simple thing that is not as tough as they profess.

    • Remove MCC. (Simple to do, make clans allegiance only able to be 1 company, not 'all' by removing that option from the list and disable the ability for one company to have a member in another company clan.)
    • Keep company activity relatively balanced. (see above, Those who prefer to be in a clan on another company can move. and limit company membership to within 100 of each other, a simple logarithmic equation in the program can easily achieve this by regulating the mean average between companies.)
    • Allow friends to continue playing together. (allow cross company grouping to remain as it is, problem solved. )
    Finding a solution that meets all 3 requirements is proving to be tough. (In what world?)
     
  18. A multi company clan is basically saying they can and are willing to take everyone on so make this the case.
    Add a 4th factions that you can set a clan to call it Standalone or something like that.

    If a clan is set to eic, vru or mmo make it so only players from that company can join if a player changes company while in a company specific clan they will be removed from it when they click start or instantly if they are already flying around.

    If a clan is set to Standalone anyone can join them and they will be red to all other companies and clans remove there option to have Naps or Packs and freeze the honor of any player in one of these clans they will earn none and lose none.

    Neutral zones(bases and ports) will still depend on the players company.

    Add some unique Battle Station options for a standalone clan So there Battle Station is more like a Home Base
    Add the option to sell cargo and repair on there nearest Battle Station for free(Not instant repair) Give them a neutral zone on it like the neutral zones in Refraction they'll be protected if they ain't shooting or being shot at.
    If a player is protected by the neutral zone then other players(not in there clan) can click the base under them to stop people stacking on top of modules to keep the modules from being destroyed.

    This would give the people who want to take on the world the option to try they could set up a Home Base(Battle Station) in any map they want to claim and will make it clear to all other players they are a enemy just like the other 2 factions so there shouldn't be no complaints.

    THIS IS HOW YOU FIGHT THEM.

    OK guys. Im a sportsman, i play the game for the fun and enjoyment of the Game. Players that play in such a fashion are nothing more than petty gamers and can be dealt with. THIS IS HOW YOU FIGHT THEM. At least for this event. Its a microscopic moral victory at best sometimes and a costly one. BUT ITS A VICTORY YOU CAN WALK AWAY WITH EVERY TIME.

    Redefine your meaning of win/lose. Play a delaying game. Saturate the Demaner path with mines. youve got to use some SAB mines especially the exit gates for each map. The X-4 maps are probably best affording the most cover. If they want Demaner they MUST fly through your mines. Some of them are going to be so weakened that their baby sister could pop em off. there will be shipps lagging behind repping because they cant take the combined heat of demaner and the mines. take a couple of ships cloaked fly in behind and take them out. Maximize your shields/HP. Be a noob gate monkey. Utilize and take advantage of the demil zones and jump gates (the Demaner flies through the 4-x demil zone), same company ships wont be able to fire at all enemy have to wait. that will give you critical first shot. Group with as many players as possible. RELY ON THE CONCENTRATED FIREPOWER OF YOUR GROUP CHOoSING THE WEAKEST TARGET YOU CAN FIND. If you start getting hit, jump rep and wait for weak escaping ships to jump on the other side (EMP's will not fire in DEMIL zones).
    EVERY MINUTE THEY SPEND DEALING WITH THE CRAP YOU THROW IN THEIR WAY IS ANOTHER MINUTE THEY ARENT GETTING PAID FOR THAT MAP. Do whatever you can to try and keep these ships off the map till the Demaner jumps or dies. If a ship isnt on the map when this takes place they DO NOT GET PAYED for that map.

    I guess some are asking wheres the WIN. The WIN comes from you depriving them of their prize. every minute they spend shooting off players or repping because they hit mines is a few minutes they arent getting paid for that map and they LOSE. Through accumulated time you actually take a demaner or two from them. Granted its only a bite at a time. I have read where people complain of the Demaner popping too quick, I have single handedly delayed that kill time so that the demaner can jump 2-3 maps and even had the demaner last until the next respawn time. ONE THING ELISTIST never really understand is that there are always more of us than there are of them, and when the BS gets too thick WE WILL ALWAYS RISE UP AND TAKE OUR FREEDOM BACK. IF there is enough people playing this delaying game you CAN take this event from them and youll see these coalitions drift apart. One thing you can count on from a petty gamer is there desire for advantage. If there is no advantage these trolling low-lifes will find something else.

    I have had marginal success using this strategy. But im just a single ship on a single server taking the fight to them on a map or two.
    THIS CAN BE DONE. YOU CAN TAKE THIS EVENT AWAY FROM THEM, BUT ITS GOING TO TAKE ALOT OF PEOPLE AND EFFORT TO DO SO. THEORETICALLY IT CAN BE DONE. REMEMBER THEY ARE NARROW MINDED PETTY GAMERS. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO UNDERSTAND THE WAR YOUR BRINGING TO THEIR DOORSTEP.

    i am obviously behind. wayyyy behind. botters???? is cheating that bad???? my understanding to date was that they had methods to deal with the bulk issues. Even still, if thats the case then itll be easier to slow them down and possibly take away a little. Like i said man. to get the demaner they HAVE to fly through your mines, sit wait and try and pick off as many as possible and try and keep them dead. IF THEY ARENT ON THE MAP WHEN IT JUMPS OR DIES THEY DONT GET PAID. If thats what they want take it away from em. Im doing it on one lil corner of one little map. i can take down one or two, if enough people do it at enough gates then maybe just maybe shut them down. If only this once. If DO doesnt do anything then I call BROKE GAME and walk. Players treating company rank like trophies, breaking the spirit of the game for their own selfish persuits. When the players ceases to have a chance then the game ceases to be a game.
