[SC] I am an AM Player

Hi All and AM Players

Kind of long, sorry, but my main point is in the first and second to the last paragraphs.

This isn’t the first time I’m writing this, and it might not be the last time either. I hope someone in DO will hear my plea and do something to help us. Maybe others will add their voices. I writing this to ask for help from other AM Players. I play in morning around 6-7am. I am on sometimes earlier or stay on later. My time is split up though. I am on two servers USA (East Coast), and USA 2 (East Coast). I got on the second server because I was locked out from my first server. I wanted to play, but I couldn’t. So I started the second server. It took a while for DO to fix the problem. Once they did, I kept both going. I am on everyday mainly to collect the daily bonuses. I will use one of my servers to play as the other sits and collects. I swap back and forth between the two to play.

My normal daily routine is: long on, get bonus, transfer my stuff from Sky Lab, Auction House (sometimes), and do Forum. During the time I’m off fighting a few aliens in between. Then I’m off to do other things around the house or out of the house. Also during my off time Sky Lab is sending my stuff to my ship and I don’t have to pay for quick shipment. I enjoy being out in the game, but it is the same old thing every day. Well I do the same thing every day.
I’m not the only ones that play during the AM hours. I see other pilots out there too, and in the Auction House it is full of people bibbing on the same items I am. So we are out there, and we are forgotten. I don’t know if they are AM Players only like me, but they are here at the same hours as I am.

The only time I’m on at night is for one event. That is the mega sale, but I rarely have the money to buy any so I'm not on at night for it. I hit the event and off usually less than a minute.

As for the games and events, I can’t play or participate in them at night. I’m not around to help my company or clan (first server only). Why can’t we have what nightshift has? Why does DO leaves us out of the game? Are we the dark sheep of the family? Due we not count in the game? Why oh Why …? I could go on, but you can fill in the WHY. There are too many questions to ask. But there are never reasons why not. DO just doesn’t care it seems.

All they care is give me the money, shut up, and it is at night if you want to play. I play in the early morning.

Yeah, I hear you. Unfortunately, demographics show most players are on in the evenings. I can see why, too... That is when the events and special activities happen. Its funny how when there is an event that has stuff to do all day, you see tons of players on anytime you log on but if the event activities don't start until 4 pm, that is when the mega logins happen. Players logon and say, "when does Hitac start? Oh, I will be back then." I play in the morning and late night after work. Unfortunately, for me all those special activities are either done or wrapping up when I get home and have not clicked off yet when I leave for work. In a way I don't care as things get too crazy when the freighters come around. I don't even like being in lowers then. During the pirate event, pirate maps was not the place to be either unless you had a lot of allies there at the same time. I play alone for the most part, always will. But I understand where you are coming from.

 

I'm with ya... the only time available for me to play anymore is the same hours as you... and, as such, I often miss out on being a part of any special events... sigh

The good old days. Sometimes modern updates are not always good. I still like events in the morning hours. How hard would to activate games in the morning. To me it is just activing a bit or two. Changing 7pm to 7am so morning could play too.

A global server merge springs to mind. Events would be 24/7 then...

That would be great having 24/7 games then you could play anytime, but I just be happy if they did something for us AM players now and then. I feel like the Red Headed Step-child here. DO forgets us who play in the day time, and only thinks about the nights.

Regrettably they are a business and as such they want to target the highest number of people when they run the Events. The items that were seen monthly (Invasion Gate, Spaceball, T D M, etc) were almost always scheduled during the server Prime Time hours. The bigger events used to be an all day thing but that was before ReLoaded was loaded. It has nothing to so with the difficulty of the action but the desire to have the most people participate in the event, even though only the strongest on the servers can participate at the present time.

As stated earlier, most players chose a server for the TIME they play so they could enjoy the events, HOWEVER, with the pending mergers they may have to return to the ALL day event model to keep ALL of their MCC players happy, but then they may just be upsetting another major group of players to further reduce the populations they are trying to create.

Yea, I know there are many at night. There are still leaving us out. It is a computer game. The computer doesn't care what time it is. Switch a switch and it on. The computer runs by its self.

One more thing, because I'm an AM Player, I don't know what the games are because I haven't experience them. The only one I have played (3 times) is Beacon. The others I haven't, I don't know the rules, I don't know were they played at and so on. If they were played at the time I'm on like, maybe I know what the games are.

Find a server that has your local time as the evening so you can enjoy the events if it is that important to you. I am sorry you can not play at the time most people do and as such is why many made an additional account on a server that they could enjoy some of the extra incentives of playing the game.

I'm not starting over again. I wish I knew this when I did start a second server because my first was down for a week or more. I don't have the funds to do that, and I'm trying to build up levels on both servers. Now it is taken me twice as long. I really don't mind because I'm having fun.

Although I am sure it has been done a few times already, why not put a suggestion in for a one-time switch from the server you are on to a server that has a more convenient playing time for you (after the merge of course).

How do I do that? I wouldn't mind switching my second server to on that is a night time game when I'm on in the morning. I just don't want to start over again and I don't want to lose everything either.
