    I used the singularity on Ubercrystallon.
    They did hit and run, but the singularity is slow, unless you were very low on hitpoints, on most maps you can run away from anywhere, emp is now available from assembly, and there was the long cooldown, so they can't prevent you from playing on the map. I believe, it was good for the game, if even week players can time from time chase away much stronger ships, against which they now stand no chance. The balancing update unbalanced and simplified the game. Now it's just get more and bigger guns.

  2. Yeah you're right. In the first place I don't how the devs or the assigned team decided and thought how the reworked skills of venom and sentinel would still be competitive enough on nowadays' darkorbit situation.

    Tartaruas was a crap addition all together. It should be refunded and scrapped.
     
  4. I'll give my opinion about the "balancing" of the Goliath Elite Ability Ships "GEAS" much more appropriate to call it maybe? so it wont be confusing on the other ships, aegis, spearhead and citadel.

    The Spectrum's Ability which consist of reducing incoming laser damage by 80% and has a drawback from your laser power by 50% is already a deadly defense even for an Ultra elite using a surgeon, reducing the cooldown to 2 min and still attain the 30 second duration is stupid, why would u already make the deadliest ability among the "GEAS" more deadlier?

    suggestion: better make it a 10 second duration and swap it for the fortress ability duration.

    The Venom's Ability inflicts huge amount of damage within a matter of seconds before the update, i've looked on the wiki, it says around 460k, now that they "rebalanced" the ability, it only now deals 1/3 of the original damage dealt within the 35 second time frame and only has a 3 minute cooldown.

    It was already considered "Useless" in the past because it can be countered with emp, now its not really that much worth using emp on it if you have atleast 200k more hp when u run even on pirate maps, am i right?

    i've read some of the comments here on the feedback page, i saw someone state that a 5 second time frame for the damage dealt is good, maybe but rather too much OP, make it atleast 10, atleast it can counter the repair of an aegis.

    Maybe give it a chance to resist an EMP effect? around 60% chance to resist the emp of an enemy in effect of the singularity ability.

    The Sentinel's Ability is not only called "Fortress" for show, if used by a skilled pilot, he/she can dish out a lot of damage even 10 enemies at once that uses x4 and rsb, or even more, but the duration and cooldown of the ability isnt really balanced, the 10 second duration is really not helpful! even if it has a 30 second cooldown, the duration that needed isnt really effective against a 1v1, the 30 second gap between the time of fight, if its a 1v1 that has same equipments, same upgrades but different kind of ships, the sentinel would lose before the ability cools down.

    i would say give it an increase on duration, make it 30 seconds, the cooldown of ability should be atleast 1 min 30 sec so it can atleast last on the diminisher's ability.

    I wouldnt say that the Solace would be too much over powering but maybe reduce the hp repair from 75% to 25% so that they wouldn't be too overpowering when in a group of 8, its unfair.

    The diminisher? i dont have anythng to say to the ability, im good with it.
     
  5. Just to correct the Spectrum's ability cooldown was changed recently from 90 seconds to 3
    mins while Sentinel's ability cooldown is just 20 seconds not 30 and the Venom's ability deals 180k hull damage and its cooldown is just 2 mins and not 3 mins. Also the Solace's hp heal is just 50% for itself and not 75%. For the Diminisher's ability, it deals 50% more damage to the target's shield for 15 secs but after that your current shield will decrease by 30%.

    I've got a suggestion for you guys for a Venom and Spectrum remodel. The reason I believe these ships need a remodel is because one (Spectrum) is very over powered and the most used ship (at least on my server) which takes away from other skill designs because there is little to no counter for this ship. The Venom on the other hand is the least used, most under powered skill design. I suggest for the spectrum two things you could do. #1 make the duration lower; I think 15 seconds would be a good amount of time, 30 is to much time for someone to kill any ship and still make to portal alive and is exceedingly more powerful then any other ship. #2 change the damage received and damage output %'s. I think the damage received is too little, I suggest a 60% damage received and 40% damage output (or 70%/30%). This would be good because groups could kill an spectrum sooner but they will do better in group fights if they use their ability instead of rendering them useless for 30 seconds. Now for the Venom. The Venom ability is very useless in PvP and PvE because its new total damage is around 200k. I think the Venom should do what the name is... poison the enemy. Put a singularity on them poisoning the target making it take 10%-20% increased hull damage, but your ship's shields drain while the ability is active. Or while the ability is in use the Venom takes 10%-20% increased damage overall. Thanks for giving your time for reading this and tell me your opinions on this idea.


    Another suggestion for the venom is for it to still deal its 200k damage, but to deal 10,000 damage in 1 second pulses making the ability last for 20 seconds, instead of building up its damage by 100 each second with its low DPS amount. This would make the ability more useful especially against those spectrum players who wait last second to use it to conserve their hull.

  7. yes i have posted it wrong because i did not know about the changes since my last log in a month ago, now i know all the duration and cooldowns of the abilities because i crafted and own them all now.


    i agree to GazerBeam to remodel the looks of both venom and spectrum, venom looks really cool at first time the goliath ability ships were released, but now its just ugly looking unlike diminisher and sentinel, which is in terms of style, it is futuristic and fits the "Dark Orbit" title of the game.

    IMO the venom should look like a bit similar to a scorpion (it is with its small laser slot on its fore front) but the 2 flapped side wings doesn't look too appealing for it's ability, maybe make it look like similar to the sentinel but make the end part of the tip of the wings to be bigger claw like, then the body itself should be a bit smaller than the sentinel.

    The spectrum design looks pretty normal to me, its unique and actually pretty good IMO.

    aaaaaand i think they wont do that because it is a lot of work to do, they already have released some new colored design of the venom and spectrum ships and the arctic one, i doubt they would have the will to even implement a change in its designs.

  8. The best well-modeled design is IMO Sentinel, which style looks like these films with the transforming cars. Notwithstanding, it's now one of the worst and most useless designs in the game.
    Venom looks more like a bird/bat than a scorpion. The claws are rather bird/bat wings.

  10. Everyone keeps discussing the Goliath skill designs, but not the Lightning, so let me give my 2 cents.

    The Lightning has the shortest duration and the longest recharge rate compared to every other 'special' ability. It needs a better enhancement.

    The Lightning has a 3 minute cool down - it ought to be lessened to 2 minutes or even 1 minute and 30 seconds.

    The Lightning's duration is only 5 seconds, every other ability seems to last over 10 seconds - the afterburner ability ought to be increased to an 8 or 10 second duration, or simply increase the speed boost from 30%, to 40% or 50%. The afterburner ability is obsolete now because the Tartarus can easily catch up to a Lightning.

    It is also strange that the wheel formation does not stack with the Lightning's boost either.

    well after this updates the tartarus will be limited to 577 speed even with the ability wich is the same basic speed of the vengeance so won't be a problem for that ship anymore :).

    otherwise the weel does increase the ability effect.

    i can found the topic, but they talked about that and modifications on abilities (all abilites) not just goliath and one drons formations too.

    Ok, so the new updates have been applied to the ships and I have to say, I am dissatisfied.
    Moth was nerfed, and that was good. Same goes for the Tartaurus; however, ring and solace have been nerfed too far. Here's why:
    Ring having a nerf on the shields was the good part, but to compensate, the amount of damage loss should be reduced.
    Solace ability was fine the way it was. The only reason it was a problem was because of ring's shield boost. The solace is useless now. Make it 40% and group 20% at the very least.

    Spectrum ability could be boosted up to 20 seconds. 15 is a little short.
     
  15. The game is now all about how many lasers you have. I have always been a speed freak - that gave a different dimension to the game, tricky to kill and different skill set to fighting. Well that was in the past, first they messed with the Vengi and now the Tartarus. These ships are effectively obsolete and the game has lost one of the few remaining dimensions it had.

    Sad day for all us speed freaks - good day for the BIG SPENDERS with big guns. Wont be long before everyone is in the same ship - guess that is what they mean about BALANCE!

    Now with the patch, Cyborg officially became OP. It's boring. Spectrum and Solace could have a chance against it but now it's clearly impossible to fight a Cyborg with abilities.

    I still use Sentinel. I switched from Solace. Only problem I have now is everyone hitting 300k+ combos and my ship can't withstand that damage.

    Regarding Tartarus : Captain Morgans post above..
    That ship offers hit and run capabilities but slowing it down etc takes away its individuality from other ships here.

    Your well aware Devs its not a strong stand and fight ship but your forcing it to linger longer than its capabilities allow, By allowing it to get caught your taking away the one thing that makes it attractive.

    *SPEED* & * GETAWAY * Putting experienced players aside new players who lack confidence and equipment rely on ships with speed to get themselves out of trouble . The rebalance im sure is in good faith but that ship is noted for speed and benefits less well off
    players and disadvantages experienced and less experienced alike.

    Please rethink this as Captain Morgan has said your taking away a dimension of the game and a genuine difference of choice of gameplay.

    The strength/speed ratio was too high for the tart and it is an eye sore. The less I see it, the better. Buff the pusat.

    Lets take your 2 points into consideration the goliath has 15 lazers -15 generators and virtually endless designs to boost it .Tartarus 14 lazers 15 generators with limited options to boost it. Strength 1-0 to goliath in basic form.

    Those experienced players that choose speed rather than toe to toe fighting quite rightly feel disenfranchised by reducing its speed
    for the reasons given above.
    If the strength and speed ratio is too high why arent the majority using them ? . Its obvious speed is its only saving grace .

    As for eyesore i agree it looks like a Moth chewed by a Bulldog .
