[GI] ITS A WHITE OUT

Hi All,

Sometimes I know trouble is coming when the game starts to get jumpy. Then when I see the Boss Kristals turning sliver I know its coming. I try to go to a safe zone, but some times I don't make it.

Sometimes I die and sometimes I don't.

What happen?

My screen (playing screen) will go white completely. In the center is a ! with a circle around it. I have to refresh my screen to get back to the game. I have to start all over like I hit the Green Button "Start" for the game to restart. As I said sometimes I die and sometimes I don't. Well today I died by the Boss Kristillon.

Home page also go white, but just the inside box that is the information section. I have to refresh that area to get it back.

Any ideas why this happens, does anybody else has the same problem?

Hey WarriorAngus,

I assume this is your browser fault, as I never noticed this issue so far. Try to use different browser to see if you have this issue. Updating your drivers and software is important as well to keep game smooth. Let me know if you still experience the issue.

When you say Brower, does that mean msn (I use all the time) to google?

Just for info ,in my case all parts are still except my ship that slowly mows out to death zone and i am dying .
And it is no differens if that is many npc on the screen or in GG or anywhere else mostly it is not just me that have problem
It did never happens before the 3d started .(i do not want to bye 1 new stronger computer for now and i have mac computer
so i can not change parts inside )Well it makes my blodpresser works upp and down . Now it is GN from me .

 

Try using Firefox. I used to get varous issues with google. Clear cache often.

 

The issue you are experiencing is the Shockwave Flash failure with the Chrome version of Flash. I also experience it often and find any time I have been in the Maps a long time, I need to refresh my screen to do anything on the back page. The problem I have is that the Google browser seems to work much better than the Opera, Internet Explorer, or Firefox Browsers as they do not want to accept the Flash Player plug-in. Until D O gets away from Flash based programming we will continue to have these problems.

 

I use Firefox and while I am on the game client and my mini-map is open there is a static flash which tells me that a large amount of data just entered that page which will be above the threshold limitations of the CPU specs. for the Flash Drive memory usage ... Most folks go into system allocations and turn on and off certain aspects of the Flash Drive and Clock Speed of the Flash-Player to speed up data/memory to maximize the Image you are playing in real time ... Chrome was the easiest Browser in tweaking/enhancing the CPU's over-all performance

Wow you guys are way smarter than me. I understood half of what you said. Foxfire is that a free service? I never heard of it. I want to play and not have problems with my computer. I try to keep it updated and clean all the time. It runs well (I think) and my wife always said our computer is a lot better then work computer (cleaner and faster). Thanks guys you are all the greatest.

It's not "Foxfire", it's Firefox and it's a free browser like Google Chrome or IE. I prefer it to Chrome personally.

 

I can confirm I've seen described problem (exclamation mark pops up in the center while the page goes white) while playing DO on Firefox and Chrome, both in 2D and 3D mode.

That is pretty much my experience and sums it up very well. The only difference is that I never had problems with the back page when the game page starts allocating huge amounts of memory and the flash finally snaps. And I also found that fiddling with clearing caches is of little to no help at all, but seems that reducing unnecessary details (like map and minimap background image), closing windows (quests, chat) etc. can alleviate things a bit. But I don't expect the issue to be resolved until the game hopefully gets downloadable client or some other reasonable alternative solution.
