  1. Hi All,

So, I have seen a lot of discussion in Chat, TS and Discord about the ''Mimesis Glitch.''

    First...It is
NOT a glitch and can be easily duplicated by any player... UFE/FE or low level Player.

Before I explain, for those who are not aware, people are complaining about a''glitch'' which allows players in a Memesis to destroy a base with no or little damage to their ship (s). Exclaiming, ''this is impossible and the player(s) are obviously cheating. How can one player take out a level 16 base solo?''

It is actually quite simple and lets take a look at how.

    1. Player Skill Tree aka Pilot Bio
Evasive Maneuvers 1 -- Maxed out gives ''4% reduced chance of an enemy getting a hit''
Evasive Maneuvers 2 -- Maxed out gives ''12% reduced chance of an enemy getting a hit''
Contrary to popular belief, EV1 and EV2 Stack having both maxed out gives 16% reduced chance of an enemy getting a hit.

    2. After the last Balance Patch (Balance Patch 2 Jun 14, 2018 by Deter)

    Star formation-
    • Evasion from none to 10%
    3. Mimesis Passive ability Scramble (New Ship FAQ March 21 2017, by Deter)
    ⦁Effects

⦁Enemies have an 80% chance of missing your ship

    ⦁+25% Laser damage

    ⦁+25% Speed

⦁JAM-X and EMP have no effect on this skill
When you added the affects of the above you get the following:

16% from Pilot Bio + 10% from Star formation + 80% from Mimesis Scamble.
    -or-
    16% + 10% +80% = 106% chance of enemy missing your ship

So, now that you know how they do it, then how do you combat it?
The answer is actually quite simple:

Precession Targeter and Smart Bomb (s)
These will cause enough damage to remove the Mimesis' shields and cause it to change configs. Once it changes configs the Scamble ability it turned off.
Once the Mimesis loses its shields and ability it is easily killed.
The above works. I have tried it several times as both the Mimesis and base defender.

    Good Luck

    Tina <3

ps the title is by design

    Nice post

Btw I tried using precision target on mimesis and it doesn't work, it still give "miss" shoots.

Obviously Devs should change something about mimesis or about star formation, it has no logic that a ship can't be hit and that ship alone can take down a base even against 3-4 player defending it

I honestly think it's brilliant that DO came out with a ship like the Mimesis. If 3-4 people and a base can't take down 1 player, even a Mimesis, then you are doing something wrong.

Try to shoot at a mimesis(with double booster, ability, leech energy, and star formation) that is shooting at a base with sab.
You will see that all the shoot "miss" the mimesis, so it's zero damage.
The only way to kill it, is with mines and cyborg ability

or u could try not to change config and ish to make his tiny shield run out as he cant sab u :p

  6. honestly id get mimesis if you use star formation and memisis ability it melts bases and players just gotta time it right

    Mimesis can easily be countered.
There are various ways to end the ability.

    Two 100% working counters are:
    - spearheads JAM-X ability (FAQ says it doesn't work, but it does)
    - 2-3 smb at the same time (koordination with mates on teamspeak etc)

    Other counters are:
    - slowmines+ kami
    - chevron +big rockets + rocket preci-tech (perfectly working when several players fight the mimesis)
    - citadel with suicide+drawfire(could be several citas, defending bases etc)
-instas, emp+ smb ...anything to stop enemy from sabing/getting back shield.

Very few players can play mimesis well enough to evade most of these counters, as it is the hardest to play ship. Finally there is still JAM-X, which you can't evade.

Please think before complaining about "unbeatable mimesis"

  9. But over all as long as the player has shields and the ability it cant beat hit and it cant take damage making it way to op for the game. theres no ship even close to it.

That is a good answer, I thought (reading mimesis faq) that jmax couldn't work on mimesis. After your post I tried it and it works.
The other way seems good as well but I didn't tried them

Yeah they sneakily changed it so that Jamx worked.

OK so first of all, no.. it is not the "hardest" ship to play, as it requires no knowledge of pvp to be good at it (knowing how/when to ish/emp/pld8/sab.. and other things). It literally gets stronger the more players it fights.

So, right now think about it.. its working like a diamond bugged aegis ( you take no dmg at all) i dont think thats fair, and i think no ship should be able to make the average Joe go into a 5v1 and whoop everyone, i think 2v1s 3v1s even 5v1s should be fought with skill and pvp knowledge ( how most good players do) not with a ship that allows you to become "good" instantly.

    as for the "counters"

1- yes spearhead counters it on group fights, and citadel-suicide counters it on 1v1, but really? the only 100% way to counter it, is to fly another ship? imo any ship should be able to kill any ship; as in how a bastion can 1 fig a cyborg. If i get cube jumped by a mimesis noob i SHOULD be able to 1 fig him by the simple fact of knowing how to fight better than him/her.. sadly thats not how it works rn(unless they are not smart at all)

2- slow mine + kami? LOL if the mimesis is half decent they will ish the kami.
-chevron+rockets and tech; its decent sure if its a 8v1 lmao.. in a group fight the mimesis will also have group boost.. its actually better to use DCR + tech and group kami.

3- ish/emp/pld8 works, only in a 1v1 on 4-4.. lmao look, otherwise if you emp they will sab another player/alien/pet (thats why the more players, the harder it is to make them mess up)..and smartbombs really barely do dmg... plus they can always jump with the skill or use back up shield.

4- cyborg/venom could work(if you make them emp somehow).. assuming they dont have rep bot or energy leech.

"very few players can play mimesis" "hardest ship" .. its just sabbing lol, i mean think about it; takes more skill to fight a mimesis than to fly it, you literally have to use every trick on the book to be good against it. Hell if im low hp i cant even use my heavy side to sab it lol.

True, but Mimesis is probably the only ship that can stand up against many people bullying you at once. So in a way it helps the solo player against a load of invaders on the map etc. What I find annoying is that I would fight one player then all of a sudden (usually when they are almost dead) he starts running away and calls another buddy to help him out and I end up dying. Since they don't fight fair, why should I fight in a goliath and end up getting popped when I could just jump into my mimesis and kill both easy.

Ok so.. remember its a double standard, in my server my clan fights the top clans.. usually 1 of us can fight outnumbered and its always us vs many more, and its usually the enemies who come back in mimesis, i think its annoying when you own a whole team on 2v5 for example and then they all come on mimesis ships. I think any pvp game should take skill to fight outnumbered, yes its nice to come back and fight an easy 1v2,3,4,5 but are you really getting better? Ik how you feel, but think about it.. at that point you are not really fighting but rather letting something fight for you. Remember any ship can fight outnumbered if you know the tricks of pvp, (although this new group booster doesnt help at all -.-*).

At the end of the day the ship is working like a diamond bug (no one can deny it) , and needs some fixing. I love the concept tho, just needs a little work.

  15. Have more than one cyborg or venom with you to take out one mimesis. and be ready to use smartbombs.

Man I feel ashamed, I am probably the biggest Spearhead fan ever yet I did not know this xD. Thanks for the info btw <3

I agree with you but for a different reason. First of all I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing that you have to change your ship type to take out another ship type. After all, I feel like that is the idea of different ship types. Each ship has its own advantages and disadvantages. However in my opinion Darkorbit isn't known for its great balance between different classes (like with TF2 or Overwatch). So in that regard I agree with you.

Yes there might be some solid ship counters to the Mimesis but the problem is that those counters are by far not good enough themselves to be played. Take the Spearhead for example, even though it might be a great counter against the Mimesis (and previously Tartarus) it rarely sees play in combat situations because it lacks on too much on almost every other aspect of the game (low dmg, low HP, low shields, and inefficient abilities). Another thing to take into account here is the fact that we still cannot save our configs. This makes switching to a different ship very unpractical and as such we are forced to play it safe and just stick to one or two ships.

And how about the suicide Citadel? Once more it just lacks too much on other aspects of the game - albeit less severe - low dmg, low speed, slow repairs, inefficient abilities).

Taking all this in to account rather than nerfing the Mimesis, it may be a better option to buff its counters.

    @Bakjam.
Well, yes you have a point. I think the counters should be more effective rather than just nerfing the ship, but i also think that mimesis shouldn't counter 99% of all the ships. I wouldn't want it to be nerfed, but it can get some slight chances IMO.
