It's strange that enemies can see each other's rank and even name of pilot. I think that not only it will be more realistic and mysterious, but more fun if this information is hidden from enemies. At least until they exchange fire!

I'm sorry but I doubt this is will ever be implemented as it would make obtaining a rank useless and obtaining a rank is what I think earns Bigpoint the most money.

  3. Really? Having any information being shown does not help or hinder you or the enemy. Have an option where the targeted player has an option to show whatever information they want after first shot. Maybe the attacker will get scared (lol) and run away.
Other than some weak minded players having to have the highest rank (more for their own ego boost) it serves no purpose.
Player name, rank, clan, number of drones and any P.E.T. info should not be displayed unless a player wants to show the data off.
Company logo would be the only 'starting' information displayed.
For the duration of a clan war, then the two warring clans would see the opposing clan names and maybe the player name.

  4. Um... First off, what game doesn't share information like this? Do you even play online games? And yeah I think rank should be visible, so that when you're a newbie, you know to run when you see certain ranks lol. Rank means nothing skill wise or any other matter due to the high levels of cheating done in this game, but it does indicate some levels of strength on a persons ship, and can be used to think up a plan or something.

  5. LOL - Only if rank really meant something. Strength and level may have a link at times, but length of time in game is also a factor. Running can work, but, especially for newbies, running is a near useless tactic unless they stay very close to a port or are lucky enough to have the attacker using a slower connection. But, hey... you sound like most pvp'ers in any game; need to have the fodder to pop because you don't like taking a chance on players your level or higher.

  6. Are you talking to me? Because I blatantly said Rank means nothing, and I've been around a long time, most people here know I'm not a push over and rank means nothing, I eat generals for breakfast lol. Hell, I logged in out of boredom, only reason I'm on the forums. I was cubing and someone uncloaked and thought he could get frisky with me, and he got smashed, guess what? High rank, and far more on his ship then me lol, I don't even have the 3D formations on my main account lol.

  7. For the OP, there is an option to turn off players names if you would like. I am not sure if you would still see the drone color code if you have it off or not, but you would not see the rank either. That being said, good luck on knowing if it is an enemy or friendly player, not to mention at war if in a clan.

  8. Lol I was going to do that for the 3D video contest, but then I wouldn't be able to tell who I was shooting with so many damn people around. Also thought the hidden names looked ugly.

  9. You would still see the drone stat code. I tested it.
