[SC] Power to the P(l)ayers

Dear Darkorbit P(l)ayers,

Today I would be more than pleased if you dare to bare with me and read this entire post (don't worry it won't be long). I would like to make a serious statement about the current development of the game. That's right, no funny anekdotes about how I ended up spending 256,000 uridium to reset my pilot sheet once, or how I wasted over 500,000 uridium on cosmetic designs. Or...oh wait...well...uh...

As I was saying. A statement.

For too long I feel like we do not realize the power we have when it comes to enforcing change in the game. For too long I feel like we have been standing on the sidelines, complaining about a lot of important aspects of the game - from balance to cosmetic updates and from events to lag - without actually realizing how much impact we can have. For actions speak louder than words...

Us the players, and yes especially the paying players (although no payers without a lot of players) have the power to decide what we want for our money. Whether we spend it on a uridium or rebate package, a premium membership or cosmetic designs, for as long as we keep spending it on this game we are sending out a signal that we feel like this game has a future. After all why would anyone ever waste their money on a dying game? Right?

Now, this doesn't mean that we necessarily agree with the choices made by the developers instead it means that we do not disagree enough to stop spending our money.

Take the double galaxy gate rewards for example. Every Sunday I see hordes of people desperately completing gates as fast as they can with the sole purpose of obtaining or maintaining a rank.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying that it is all our fault because let's be honest: Bigpoint has found a clever way to take advantage of our never ending battle for honor. It is not like they tried to reduce the attractiveness of Galaxy Gates. Or attempted to create side grades rather than upgrades (Cyborg). Or...

But in the end the real question that we should ask ourselves is if all of these developments are truly the developers fault. How long do we want to continue the ranking rat race and how long we want to deal with unbalanced game mechanics and lag, inevitably caused by our own choice to all do Galaxy Gates on the same day?

In conclusion no matter in what stage of the game you are, whether you are an absolute beginner, or experienced veteran. I encourage you to let your voice be heard, be it here, or the discord server, on YouTube or even in-game.

You, me, us. We decide in which direction we want the game to go.

But as I stated before, actions speak louder than words. And that counts for my words just as much. I will be signing off from the game for a while. And that is definitely not because I have to wait for seprom because I just reset my pilot sheet for 384,000 uridium...j;alksdjf;lk

I agree, it almost felt like a slap in the face when I saw the announcement this morning.

 

It's sad that DO has little to no respect for themselves let alone honor or discipline followed up with commitment let alone accountability for their actions of culpability for the disarray of the Scripts that the Developers are employing to run the game and drain funding from a User ...

 

Since BigPoint was sold yrs back to some Chines company/Youzu Interactive and with this current staff of Forum Mods , Legal team , Developers as well as the members/users .... OUR MONEY aka the users are planing to default/void/vacate the Terms and Conditions. There are certain members in the employment of BigPoint/Youzu Interactive that will be leaving whether they want to or not or face legal recourse. That is international money and there are many LAWS to protect the consumers I call it 'trimming the fat'. Have a Great Day everyone , Be safe , have fun ... We shall meet in the Stars ... i believe we can have power over our game , (on gb1 before the merge )we got fed up with this obsession of spending money for rank
we demanded changes and stopped buying uri and majority of us kept shouting for the merges d,o said never and wen the revenue dropped dramatically they u turned so there is some power we can use

 

Great example of how we can influence the game in a direction we want it to go!
