[SC] new setup thought and rant

I used to play a long time ago and it was fun then they go and change the game and ruined it for me so i quit for several years now i came back and now i remember why i quit they need to change this game to this instead of all maps being pvp make only 4-4 4-3 map pvp only and all other maps pve and then theres 5-3 5-2 5-1 every time i go there i get poped by mines that people set becacues they dont want anyone else to come there and im tired of wasting my time trying to go there need to make those maps pve only and no mines allowed this game was great at one time now its just 1 star out of 10 star to me and alot of people that im friends with real life used to play this game and they payed for uri just like i have and they also have quit this game because of the changes that is why this game is failing and losing it base because if you dont pay to play then you cant defend yourself from others like if im hitting for 20k with 4x ammo but get hit by someone hitting 120k on 4x ammo thats not an even macth 2hit and my sip is done i dont even have a chance to run and that pisses me off im so upset that i even ever wasted money on this game maybe make new servers for people that are only pve then other servers that are only pvp

You haven't seen the worst of it. Wait till you meet MCC (all company members as one team) and your own company kills you. This game has change and the Wallet Warriors are in charge. Then there are bots and cheats too.

There are two post you should read Multi-Company Clans-what to do, and Bots and Cheats. MCC has been views 34,251 times and 514 have reply. Bots and Cheats have 83,951 views and 72 reply. They are long post and have been view a lot of times. Member have complain as well as given good advice in how to change this, but DO have deaf ears. It is like the 3 monkeys (see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil), but give me you money.

Why would you play a PVP game if you are not interested in PVP? Instead of the game changing to please you, maybe you should find a game that is not PVP based. Its just a suggestion, you can do what you want. Just makes no sense to me, for you to expect the game to change for you when most people that play DO, play because it is a PVP based game. Its just like the people that want to play for free, yet they complain about the players that spend $, yet it is these players that keep the game alive. Without people spending $ there is no DO.

 

im not saying to change it just put more maps in it that arnt pvp i like pvp when i can be equal and its based on skill not power

AND there are way more aliens in game than players so it is also PVE and should be for those that want it to be!

This game changed drastically from Dec 2007 when I started over the following 3-5 years. The community feeling of the game eroded. Botters emerged. MCC clans were always around except early on in the game, the players themselves enforced the no-MCC 'rule' by warring them. The common mentoring of newer players and cooperation even between enemies eroded as this game lost many quality players. PVP was only ONE way to play and PVE was always a valid path.

BP was slow to respond to the growing issue of botting and it got out of hand. It's still that way. The PVP crowd wants to run the game, many of them got their gear botting. Or buying. Or both.

What the current population of my server never got to see was massive 100 ship battles and raids of the lowers. Jump into a battle map and be instapopped by 30 ships. It was awesome. People mentored noobs. Clans were not the malignant mess of cheaters some have become. There were always bad actors but the players were mostly worthy opponents or surprising allies. I can remember a top player from an enemy company spending an hour helping me with noob quests.

You could call "enemy in 2-2" on company chat and 10 players would come to drive them out. Chat was fun, not the neverending taunting and insults, not to mention the deliberately misspelled profanities. Staying alive and learning to dodge trouble was a fun challenge. Instead, the sour grapes PVP addicts begrudge that skill. Too bad for you.

We all know this game is on its last legs. And those of you who insist it's just a pvp game don't realize the depth this game once had where you could carve out a variety of paths. You missed the complex community and some truly great people. But that's ok, just go back to your "farming" npcs all hours of the day (cough cough) then Hades all day Sunday. I miss the old D.O. May it rest it peace.

This game is for fun.

Some like the game for PVP.

Others like the game for PVE.

Most of us like the friendships that had started here. All in all each their own.

The game has changed, but the people has not. The DO Team is sitting there and that is the problem. People and I mean a lot of them has put forth good ideas in how to help. Those ideas had fallen on death ears.

Play or not to play is the question. I hear that more people are not playing the game and leaving. Maybe one day the Team will realize that they are the only ones here. Then it would be too late. That is why there are all these Mergers to make the game have more people to play against or with. To me it means that the game is dying. To have so many different Servers at one time must had people playing in them to have them. If there were then why so many Servers. You wouldn't add a Server if one wasn't full already.

Dark Orbit wake up and smell the coffee. Are you flying alone. If you are there is a problem. If not you might be in the near future.

SAVE OUR GAME AND FIX IT RIGHT.

They added a lot of servers in the past because it made them a lot of money, not because the existing servers were full.

Where do you think the players on those new servers came from?
Most of them came from older servers, and already had fe ships on their home servers, but they want to chase rank/top on a new server, so they need to buy a lot of uridium to build up their ships fast and do gates.


If they want new/more players, they need to advertise their game more.

 

Well just to clear things up, I have a quest to kill 10,000 players so what this post means is if i am killing aliens and i see another player killing aliens i should just leave him be and forget about finishing my quest? Or maybe you all should learn to group with others to help with pve and also to protect each other against pvpers. If your getting destroyed by players on a map you all know there are other maps right? Also if you can't win and you start to rage there is always logging out to take a break. I am UFE and i fight up to 5v1 and i don't always win so when i loose i find something else to do instead of raging on a post and ask simply for protection in a pvp game lol . Enjoy

Funny I also have a noob ship spend no money on except premium and box doubler in just over a month of playing am lvl 18 and have around 7 lf4s and i have no problems with enemy's, I mean of course i have been killed even by Generals when i was a very noob ship but i just laugh it off cause it means nothing. The players that have a problem with this game usually are the players that spend nothing but expect to be able to do anything others can but it will never be that way in DO sorry to say.

 

I used to get just premium and rebate and did fine with that. Was able to get pretty much what I wanted. Got doubler also for awhile and that was sweet on top of it. If you work hard with those you can ramp up pretty quick. Key is to be active and learn from your mistakes.

 

SERVERS WERE DEAD .so needed to be adressed .. THE devs have certainly messed up tho or bigpoint has as many people will now quit in there droves since merges as its unplayable with aLAG

As you said people are on other servers, well I am on two others servers too and play on three. If everyone is doing that and that is why we have the extra servers so players can play on them. Why are they (DO) closing them down. It should be full of people playing. If not where did those people go? Did they leave the server or the GAME? I would be mad if they closed down a server that I built up a ship fast as do gates just to loose it. I don't think they would put two of my ships on the same server.

They are merging servers, not closing them.

You will keep all you ships on different servers, you will lose nothing.

I was worried because I have a ship on USA (East Coast) and USA 2 (East Coast). If they merge will I have 2 ships on one server?
