[SC] Sync Update kills game play for honest players

My noob account has over 5 million sep on shields, rockets and lasers as well as 5 million prom on speed gens.

My main account has the same exact thing, I have accumulated all of that sep and prom while also playing the game daily so the only people I really see complaining about this new update are the rank chasers and botters.

Well at least used to play daily now I just log in the game for 10 minutes and then log out for Teamspeak because the game is so damn boring.

But in all honesty I think the ore upgrades should just be flat out removed because its completely worthless anyways. If you're good enough you can kill people using prom just as easily as using seprom, and you could obviously just download cheats to do everything for you in a fight anyways so the cheaters weren't affected by this update at all, lol.

I guarantee you there is going to be a new seprom bug which you can bypass the limit anyways because nothing on this game actually "works" so you might as well get rid of it.

 

So if you have over 5 million now - How much did you have before starting the BL missions - Oh right, you obviously haven't done them. If you had you would have NO sep on rockets and lasers.

No it isn't only bots and rank chasers complaining, I actually take offence to being called a botter (or a rank chaser for that matter). All I want to do is play at the same level as those guys who have millions of sep that are able to do a minimum of 30% more damage than me with the same equipment on our ships.

Yes you can kill others using Promi - As long as they don't have 30+ Promi lasers and Millions of Sep so can hit at least 30% harder per volley than you.
Just doing LVL 22 missions in 5-2 you can burn through 100K+ of lasers in a session. An hour guarding or attacking bases/ hunting in a group - 30 to 40K. Daily mission 3 or 4 K. If you actively just "play the game" you will never have 1 million sep on lasers and keep it there. At some point you will run out, where as those with millions stacked up before the change have a lot more breathing space than the rest of us.. Just another very unbalanced change introduced by DO without looking at how it may affect (honest) players. If having over 1 million minerals on upgrades does cause a "stack overflow" then the easiest fix would be to remove everything over 1 million from every account. This would not only "fix" the presumed issue but would also be balanced and fair to everyone.

Why do people who no longer actively play the game comment on changes that don't affect them?

 

Yeah I didn't do the BL missions because I'm not stupid enough to fall for Darkorbit's tricks and get rid of my seprom. They put those missions in for a reason, so if you're going to fall for their tricks and then proceed to complain on the forums then do us all a favor and spare us from your complaining and deal with it because you decided to do the missions not anyone else. I am doing just fine with enhanced LF4s and regular LF4s I really do not care or do not need the new lasers.

I've been playing since 2006 and ever since generator upgrades and ore boosts were introduced I haven't once used promerium nor have I ran out of seprom for many many years of fighting and farming so clearly you're doing something wrong.

Many of my friends who are generals and colonels or just rank chasers have no problem using promerium and are still able to easily kill people so you obviously don't need seprom to fight or compete against others who probably have promerium on their lasers too. So again, you're clearly doing something wrong

The reason why I quit playing this wack game is because it sucks so bad from all of these stupid decisions like the server merges that the players want these stupid things that make no sense (and ended up killing the game even more ironically) so I only play for my clan in Teamspeak 3. And that statement is honestly just so stupid and ignorant because quite honestly the people who no longer play the game generally know whats wrong with this game nowadays and how to fix it but nobody wants to hear it because they think everything is fine when this game is honestly on it's last leg.

Just as I type this by the way there is already a new bug regarding seprom so now you can have more than 1 million again LOL! Like i said want to fix this problem? Remove ore upgrades.

 

I'm afraid you don't seem to know the difference between feedback asking for a level playing field and complaining.

It is sad you believe DO set out to "trick" you - I do believe the change to ore upgrades was planned in conjunction with the new BL maps and missions. Sadly it was not introduced in a more balanced way, with an at least a plausible reason. DO has never been good at communicating with players, they have a long history of ignoring those who play the game and introducing change without looking at the long term affects those changes may have. This is just the next change in a long line of poor decisions on the part of Developers, it was no "trick", it was a well planned but poorly thought out change.

As you have said you no longer actively play the game, how do you know your existing lasers are just fine?

I wonder, you say you quit over the "stupid server merges"? - Is that because you suddenly found there was more competition on your once relatively dead server and could no longer compete at the same level?
I don't believe the server merges were a mistake, the mistake was that DO didn't take into account the amount of purely toxic players they would be cramming into one place.
It doesn't matter what DO try to do to resurrect the game unless it includes dealing with the growing minority of toxic players and groups. The game needs to go back to its roots - Company vs Company - While ever the game has no focus/direction aside from the strongest MCC with the most allies runs the server, the game will continue to lose more players than it can replace with new ones.

Rather than simply removing ore upgrades and the skylab, fixing it to be more balanced would be a far better option. Increase the amount of Seprom produced per hour, increase the amount of Seprom storage in the skylab.
Or simply change it so you can only use Seprom on shields and rockets, Promi on lasers and Engines.
Having to take even a week off at a time just so you can compete at the highest level for a day or two is not how a game should be balanced.

*Sure you could stack Seprom daily while playing the game, as long as you aren't doing missions that require you to kill thousands of NPC's Or you don't go into BL maps to shoot enough NPC's to get the Rinusk for a single laser, then go do gates to get the booty boxes. Yes you can use Promi for those things but you're not able to compete with the guys who have millions of Sep and 30+ of the new lasers. PVP in DO is so totally broken right now and the limit on laser upgrades only contributes to the problem because there are players out there who will at least in the short to medium term not be affected by the new limits.

 

I am on USA server now and its just as dead as it was before the merge and probably even worse now. Literally we had a good one month before the server died and its back to where it was where only one or two clans dominate the entire server and everyone else is left out to rot with the only people online being botters and rank chasers just climbing the latter because there is nothing to do and nobody to fight, and nevermind the abysmal cheating going on in PVP. The server merge has gone the exact way I knew and predicted it was going to happen but everyone said "no you're wrong I'm right." Should have listened to the previous dev team and the players with the foresight that knew this would happen from the start, but no you guys wanted it so bad that they replaced that entire dev team with a new one just to spend an entire year doing nothing to the game but merge servers that backfired on us in the end. Mission Accomplished!

And I do know my existing lasers are good enough because I'm capable of killing people without these stupid spartans and prometheus lasers because I am actually decent at the game and I've been doing fine so for the past year with no problems.

If you can't see that Darkorbit intended to trick you to replace your seprom on purpose because of the seprom bugs - and then proceed to suddenly put a seprom limit right after they "fixed" another seprom bug - then you're a lost cause and there's no point in trying to change your mind, if you can't see a connection between that and the Blacklight mission of putting prom on your lasers then buddy I hope you're not a detective IRL because you would get a lot of criminals set free.

It wasn't a "poor" decision on behalf of their lackluster dev team, they took the easy way out because every time they "fixed" the seprom bug everyone found a new one that worked even better than the last one, so they created a new laser with more performance than the enhanced LF4s to get with new quest but here's the catch - remove your seprom. And then they proceed to put a random and sudden seprom cap right after they fixed a seprom bug (that already has a bug that bypasses the cap mind you) only one or two months after Blacklight so you have no chance to get that seprom back.

TLDR They forced you to remove your sep, then they put a seprom cap without warning. You were tricked if you did those missions. End of story.

Funny because the clan I am that has dominated USA East 3 for 6 years+ is allied with the other top clan in the merged USA server and we both rule the server with no competition so yeah, what a competition it only took 2 months for us to kill the server, a record for us lol. I would tell you what clans but it would be deleted because darkorbit is such a great game ran by a great company that I can't even put names in here.

I'm not even going to bother replying to the rest of the post, I didn't bother reading it and that's because its the same thing over and over again from you people. You expect Darkorbit to put out these new stuff in the game but you also have this Reactionary belief in Darkorbit to where you want it "back to where it was before" while also at the same time not wanting to remove ore upgrades (that will solve the bug problem because no ore = no bugs) even though they were added when Darkorbit started "mysteriously" dying because of the unnecessary changes that were put out over the years like the, oh I don't know, buggy ore upgrades?

Seriously lol this game just boggles my mind. One half of the players are sipping the Kool Aid and the other half who are sober and see the state of this game, like myself, have already done the bright idea and left this game or at least stopped spending and stopped taking it seriously. God Bless you and I just hope they give you guys good voucher codes for the next game Bigpoint comes out with after they're done milking this cash cow lol.

 

Interesting, seems we are on the same server and judging by your post I can see why your attitude is the way it is.

If i am correct about which clan you belong to (you did make it pretty clear), I can understand why you feel you don't need Spartans and the new lasers to compete. It also goes some way to explaining why your attitude to change is the way it is.
I'll leave the reason for that presumption for you to work out by reading your last post.

It is quite obvious you didn't bother reading my post before responding - As I suspected from your previous posts, you have an opinion and right or wrong no matter what anyone else says you are always right.
