[UI] 2 ranking systems

  1. we got a ranking rn that supports gate farming all day sunday, and means nothing about the skill of a player. Why not add another ranking that only counts player kills, and would go under the current ingame icon for rank. And to prevent it being boosted by killing bots or noobs, just have the player you killed have to deal x amount of damage back to you for it to count, aka rank determined by fighting skill

    The only real value ranking has is the one you give to it. So if you know that high ranks are achieved by spending thousands of hours doing mindless Galaxy Gates, I feel like that says more about the player in a negative sense than in a positive one. So from my point of view, high rank = bad

    Anyway, as far as I'm away we need to address other problems before we dive into the idea of ranks based on skills. Such as the infamous MCC and ship balance.
     
  3. FooJubRevenge we already have a player kill ranking system. Go to the ranking and go check Ships Destroyed. Look at all the top players who've accumulated thousands of player kills. I used to be in the top #80 on my server a few years ago and prided myself on that.

    Edit: We also have a battle arena ranking system you can go check, the players who came out on top also got titles. There was extraordinary skill on behalf of those players who 1v1'd to the top of the leader boards.
