  1. Before server merge, if people were inactive to the point that they just got Basic Space Pilot rank over and over, they were removed from the position in the rank (not like Captain ranks, but actual leaderboard for hall of fame). I looked at my server's top users and if they removed the inactive or banned accounts, my account would more than double it's position up into the top 500.

  2. I think the reason they cant remove players from leaderboards without them being inactive is because they will get a lot of complains from people being removed from the leaderboards who still actually play. It could be that they play but you just don't see them play?

You need to be more considerate of others.

remove bots you would be top 5 player

  4. More considerate of others? 20 of the top 100 on my server have been inactive (with Basic Space Pilot ranking, meaning not even logging in to the game) for over a year now.

You obviously did not read the post. This is about removing actual inactive players from the leaderboard until they return, something we did before the server merge but for some reason disappeared

  5. Yes, and I already said why it probably stopped.

High ranked players shouldn't be removed from leaderboards just because they don't play. They still earned that goal and it deserves to stay. I'm in top 50 on my server, if I stop playing for 1 week I should be removed... really? Even a year? I still earned it.

  6. I see players that stopped playing years ago and they are still in the top ship kills or high postilions still from back in the day.

  7. There's no reason why this should still be a thing. I don't even play the game anymore I just log in a few times a week just to check the forums and it wouldn't be a bad idea for people to lose rank points for being inactive.

Yes if you don't even bother to log in for a year, you should be removed current leader boards - In a real game if you don't actively play you don't appear in the current rankings - DO need to look after ACTIVE players who contribute to the game. Not those who no longer play.

  9. I agree with this, but I also agree with the OP.

I don't think a week of inactivity warrants removing someone from the leaderboard, however. Perhaps they go on vacation, or their ISP goes bust?

The only inactive accounts that could be removed from leaderboards fairly are ones that haven't been accessed in a rather long time, say, a year - it's likely that those players no longer have an interest in the game, or have perhaps passed away (it does happen), but i
f they ever do come back, they'll pop right back to where they should be on the leaderboards. :)

  10. I have read all the posts and I don't see what the big deal is. Since the ranking is fluid depending on amt. of players and activity then inactive players just naturally get passed up as others keep playing and advance.Since they are not playing they will eventually loose there standing in the leader board . Its just a matter of time. There were times when I lost my internet for one reason or another , for months and I WAS disappointed that lost my rank but that's a naturally occurring process of the game. If you just leave it alone inactive players will go the way of the dinosaurs. Focus on what YOU are doing and stop worrying about what others are not.
