[GI] I`m confused

Just got dead,again. Only this time it was my own doing,in the radiation zone.
Some Leg-end in 2x system was chasing kills,I wanted to get to the home gate so I targeted the guy so I knew where he was. I watched him wizz all around the system before I made a move,but this guy could see me,somehow,from across the system,and he came for me.
This guy actually started chasing me from,at the very least,halfway across the system.
How is that possible ???

Yeah,he could of targeted me too,but I dont think he did.
Besides,I watched this guy for a couple of minutes and he looked like he was chasing someone else,which would mean that they were being targeted.

He covered distance PDQ,too. The differences between ships,in stats,goliath and venom,are not that massive. Osmium could of given a 10 % speed advantage,but thats it.
Judging by the way he crossed the map,he had a couple of rockets up his ass.

So I went into the radiation zone to try and keep the distance and avoid his attention,but this guy knew exactly where I was long before he should have.
I`d never of made it to the gate,thats for sure.

So,I ended up radiated. Nil points MMO banditto

Is there a speed booster ?? Is there a radar booster (apart from the chip) ??
Can I upgrade my speed generators ?? Or my radar ??
Does a premium account give that sort of extra benefits ??
Or...is something just amiss ??

When you target someone, it works both ways. You see them, they see you, too. You can put on ore on your speed generators that will give you a boost.

 

Besides ore to put on gens, can use a drone config, or other than a goli use a lightning or tart for ship speed boost.
Pet can have more than one radar installed, and this gives more radar range.
Also, if your opponent does not have a lock on you, if you switched to another target, like an npc, then both you and the other ship will lose 'sight'. Now, if the other ship locked you as well, then your opponent and you will still see each other.

The last thing to consider is the connection lag. This does not always come from the game itself, but can accumulate over the various connections/routers your speicif connection is using.

First off, PSK~SUNDANCE & ]Coldheart[ are correct. If you can see the other ship then the other ship can see you.

The mini map tells all.

With promi on speed gens a Cyborg can travel at a rate of 552 that is relatively quick add the drone formation "Wheel" and now the Cyborg is running at 579 this is very fast. If you want to out run a Cyborg you will need to be in a Lightening Vengy and be a good pilot.

As you see not all Lightening pilots do well..Vengeance Lightning 2,672 caught and killed Yes I use the Cyborg. For my type of game play I find it to best over all. Other pilots have their own preferences.

Make a habit of looking at the mini map. If you see a red dot on a map, that red dot can also see you. So if you have a lock on an enemy ship but want to move around lock and NPC or your PET then restart your PET. Once you lock something other than the enemy that enemy can no longer "Track" you unless of course the enemy has you locked. Jump a port then return to the map or use an EMP to cancel the enemy lock.​

Vengeance Lightning with promi on speed gens with all speed gens base speed is 576, with "Wheel" formation 604, With afterburner in "Wheel" formation 748. This top speed is also the same without "Wheel" formation so is best to stay in "Heart" or "Standard" formation to keep your shields up on the run or chase

I did watch that guy on the map and thought he was chasing someone else. I made an Ass-umption. Huh....go figure.
It was the first time someone came after me from across the system. Now I know why !!
