They could include a rating to see who has the best ratio of destroyed and killed. For example, I killed 8500 ships and died 2400 times, I can have that information in the rank and classification of ship destruction.

    This means that out of 10,900 battles (8500 + 2400), I won 8500 and lost 2400.
That is, I won 77.98% ((8500 * 100) / 10900) of the battles I fought. This value could be the rating.

Another example, I fought these 10900 battles, and lost 8500 and won 2400
    My rating would be 22.02%.

I am here considering a battle which resulted in death or killing, it is simply the sum of the deaths and destruction that acount has.

I think it would be much more interesting than the ship wreck rating for example, since the playing time would not have so much influence on it, it would really show who is better.

And a minimum battle limit could be set to enter the rankings, I think about 1500 battles would be a good number, otherwise the beginners would end up topping even in a lucky moment.

Below as it would look visually (it is in portuguese):

  2. Everyone would be running v-lightning or spectrum in DO if K/D ratio mattered. . .

. . . which I'll take any day over Cyborg spam, excellent idea! +1

  3. This should be an option for tyrannos designs as well, toggle either all kills on ship or k/d

  4. Problem is who cares? The last event did this for 3 weeks too long, this would be permanently too long. -1

Well, I miss PvP a lot in the game, there's a lot of focus on NPCs, it could be an incentive for anyone who cares about anything other than a patent that shows who can make more GGs.

Yeah the problem is that this only encourages shooting weaker or outnumbered ships whilst staying out of serious PVP. And that is the problem with the entire PVP section of DarkOrbit. It is just the same as someone who killed 1500 players using a Tyrannos design, those 1500 kills mean NOTHING until we get to know how strong the players you killed were, let alone if they were bots or if you were teamed up with your entire clan. In fact I would say that a player's kill count who has made 1 'fair-fight-kill' is better than from someone who farmed thousands of kills simply by shooting new players. It becomes the same as completing GG or shooting NPC's in general: barely any strategy involved.

This is true, but to predict these situations the system would have to be far more complex than just considering the ratio of killed to dead. By contrast, a user who seeks to kill bots will not use bots if they want to maintain a good rank, so this could be a plus point. Or someone looking to kill only newbies will have to spend many hours searching, as they are increasingly rare, and even these are on high maps where there are stronger players.

At the end, I think this would just be another ignored rating that few would worry about, but I see it as normal for a multiplayer game to have a rating like this.

Currently we find in almost all classifications only 'who did more', and for that just play longer.

  8. this idea is usless, for example the top 10-20 players in ship killing are all pusher (ge7) with near 200k ships...
    they will hava a K/D like 95%/5% ....
