    Hello,
I would like to say that the event will accentuate the already existing problems. For relatively new players like me, staying in a map for more than 20 minutes is almost impossible because high level players shot us in less than 10 seconds. Because of the event, I cannot stay in any map for more than 5 minutes without getting destroyed. The problem is that killing a level 10 player is the same as killing a level 20 player if they have the same ship. Why would they attack players at their level where they would spend more ammo and time when they could target low level players like me, basically farming us ?
Since I started playing, I have never killed anyone because everyone seems to be super high level, however I have been killed more than 200 times. It is very discouraging.
This event really shows how deep the problem is and why there are so few new players. It would be great if there were less incentives for high level players to kill low level players in order to let them slowly gain in power. And I'm telling you that I tried to defend myself but I can destroy, at most, 10% of their shield. There is a MASSIVE gap between new players and older players which is not correctly handled.
    Thank you
I'm on server Int14 by the way

  3. bigboi420, I feel your pain however that is the game. Accept it and there is still enjoyment to be had.
Everyone starting out goes through the period you've described and that is how it always has been. There is challenge in your predicament and for me the fun of the challenge was in staying alive during dangerous times such as the galactic strife event.
You must perfect the art of survival, cloak, hug ports, enable a high speed configuration, make use of EMP's and slow down mines when you strain to escape the hunters. There is always satisfaction in denying a hunter a kill, for in a sense you have won by causing him some frustration.
Keep working on strengthening your ship and in time the hunted will become the hunter.
    Gl and safe travels.

  4. Hermes dropping from delta is cool, but what's the drop rate?

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you are having a hard time. The ratio you mention does seem to make sense (which doesn't mean it is fair). DarkOrbit can be very, very, very...

...very hard for beginners. I hope you can find some people who can protect you or find something useful here:

Just be sure that you do not become one of the hunters who farms low level players yourself ;)

  6. Oh and battle pass should be permanent, not just for one event.

Literally can't farm anywhere. Go on my company's x-2/x-3/x-4 and get obliterated in seconds because veterans are doing quests. Can't box on PVP maps because there's people farming reputation points (cloak is useless). Can someone explain to me in which universe is this considered fun? Oh and the best thing about the event is that it's gonna be like this for the next two weeks, if not even longer.

The reputation will be calculated like the following:
    • If the player deals 80% of damage to the player that lost, then the reputation gained will only be 80%

Reputation gained will be 80% of what?
There seems to be no way to calculate whether you will get points for killing someone or how much you should/do get.
Seems to work more like - I kill a player with 640 points (I have 500) I do 100% of damage and get 35 reputation points for a total of 535
The same player then killed me twice and I lost 36 points - His friend who also had over 600 points then helped him kill me again and i lost another 50, leaving me with 449 points.
I killed a player with 140 more points than me and got 35 points - I died 3 times to guys with over 100 points more than me and i lost 86 points.

This too needs to be finished off
    • Player A has reputation 920 and Player B has reputation 900 -> the reputation difference is 20
    • If A wins, A will gain 30 reputation and B will lose 30 reputation.
    • Player C has reputation 1000 and Player D has reputation 500 -> reputation difference is 500
    • If C wins, C will gain only 10 reputation (less reputation compared to A's win) and D will lose 10 reputation.
    * What happens if player B wins the fight, what will/should he get?
    * How much SHOULD player D get if he wins?

So far i have 14 kills and 4 losses at no time did i have more points than those i was fighting yet i only got points from 1 kill and lost over double what i received.
Seems you lose a lot more to those with more reputation per death than is suggested in the FAQ.
It also seems that if you die to multiple enemies, you lose more reputation per death, even if they have well over 100 more reputation than their target

Would it be possible for the FAQ for this event to contain accurate and complete information - So far what the FAQ says is nothing resembling accurate and complete information.

  9. Okay so, well done Bigpoint, you really improved this event and I think this is the only time I'm going to say this. The event is much cleaner, much more easy to play and you don't need to always feel worried about losing points on random maps.

    Now for the negatives:
Just won a fight and low on health but getting attacked? Just don't shoot back and you won't lose points.
Lots of allies and not many enemies? Yeah, good luck gaining any points mate.

I think what should happen is if you die too many times on PvP you should be banned from the maps for a timer, to stop people from feeding points and to make the system much more interesting in general.

Again though, HUGE improvement and I gotta say, it's a million times better. Still wondering if 2 weeks is too long, but since it's just PvP; anyone who wants to ignore it can now.

  10. (Removed reference to deleted post)

Get better at the game for starters botters will go away during this event same as they did last time, i have been only on for a couple hours and finished many objectives and haven't been killed once.

Just do what I do, the 2 or 3 easy dailys then log off and go and do something more interesting instead.

Thank you for this. Now I may consider buying the wheel formation because I though that buying the heart one would actually help me survive. Well I guess that it doesn't work like that. What's interesting is that lately more and more people (strong players) have asked me to join them in groups, which is quite nice to be fair. However I am level 15 so all my uber quests are basically not doable at the moment, specifically because of the event. Oh well, hopefully it'll get better.
    Regards

  13. I don't have the ship, or equipment to even try and take part in the event, but if I try and run missions to gain uri, ex, credits and the like, I can't! Keep getting killed by farmers after a few cheap rep points, just not fair.

A better system would be to set it up so only the battle maps can be used at all for the event, not any map, that way, if you don't want to be involved in the event, you don't have to be, and you can still play the game and have fun killing npc's.

As is, I'm not playing again until the event it over,, simply impossible to get anything done, no fun, and every death costs me points for something.

I must say that the removal of the ability to gain reputation on non-battle-maps (i.e. you can only earn reputation on battle maps) is already a major game changer. This not only forces people who want to have the highest reputation to go to PvP maps but also punishes them for destroying ships that aren't on PvP maps as their reputation per kill will drastically decrease by doing so.

Furthermore: while there is definitely more enemy activity going on I also notice a significant increase in friendly activity. A few months ago there weren't so many 'portal guards' as now.

Lastly do not underestimate the power of a different ship over equipment. Just some examples: Spectrum (prismatic shielding), Citadel (travel), Sentinel (fortress), Lightning (afterburner), Tartarus (relatively high HP and speed) and so on. The Aegis is also an excellent option as it increases your chances of getting invited in an outfit.

And of course don't forget to check out the link below

  15. Of course the problem is I DON'T OWN ANY OF THOSE I'm using the best I have (Goliath) and don't stand a chance. Portal guards are no help, killed 3 times in 5 minutes on 2 maps. Can't, won't play until this is over.

I'm sorry to hear that, it is hard indeed. Perhaps taking a break isn't such a bad idea. A huge advantage of doing so is that the stronger players may run out of seprom at the end which will decrease the amount of them that continue playing even further (for a while).

Hello, during the event I noticed that some of the players hunt the players in the same company in 4-x maps for their points. Just yesterday in 4-5 when a player from the same company as me started to shoot me down, i lost 20 points. I didn't shoot the first one and I wasn't at war with that player. From my point of view in the absence of enemies in 4-x, the players shoot their own company players in order to collect their points. This is not right in this event, you can no longer trust comrades in battle maps during the event.

whats the point of a pvp event when certain players just cheat, and get all the rewards. insta shield , pft shot straight through it, emp, instant re-lock. why don't you actually do something about the cheats. because at the minute this game is just pointless.

Biggest issue I have noticed with the event this time is how the top players get and keep gaining points.
Get 2 or 3 players with similar points (top ranked) - 1 kills another, winner gets 100 points, loser loses 50. Rinse and repeat you have a few players with way more rep points than anyone else can possibly hope to get.

But then this is DO, no-one should expect an event to be balanced and fair for all.,.
You do know you can craft endless amounts of Sep with Rinusk, you get Sep from completing Qz, certain gates give it through the week as a bonus reward?
If you want to have Sep at all times it is possible.

You don't have to any of the hard work.
    It's free repair +
    no damage to drones +
There are times where you don't loose points when you get shot.

so, find a friend. You shoot him. He shoots you.
    Both your points go up.
    Nobody looses any.
And since you can keep points pretty level, you gain points faster than a fair player can.

DO does nothing against cheaters, so you will probably get away with it too.
