I totally disagree. For the last year, just for logging in every day you could have had 12 LF4s and 12 of the New LF4s. That's 24 pretty good lasers without even trying. Throw in some zeta and kappa gates and a person could easily get to full LF4 and full BO3 with hercs and havocs. That doesn't do so well in PVP anymore, but its good enough to get in the BL map and add 10 prom lasers to the account. Now it appears they will be giving away BO4s. I have 5 just for logging in.

Takes one year just to get 24 lasers from calendar but the BSGO code gave out 15 unstable lf4s lasers with one code. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure they only introduced the free laser giveaway idea only starting late 2018 which by then there aren't a lot of players left. They took too long even though it's a good start for noobs.

The whole purpose for DO is joining a top clan, being in a gang of uber UFEs and killing everything that moves nowadays. You're not ever gonna be able to join a top clan with the free lasers and generators they give you not to mention the sole purpose of DO is always been about PVP. Yea I guess if you're a solo player on DO this is going to work but in the long run, it's still really weak compared to any uber UFE players who rule the upper maps. Most of the time it's always uber ships that hunt the upper maps, sometimes you have noobs with the same "BSGO code" ship trying to pvp, but you won't 1v1 opponents regularly. Btw, just because DO gives out handouts making it a good headstart for a noob doesn't fix the whole MCC situation that's been in this game for years and has gotten worse over time. This is one of the key reasons it discourages new players from even continuing to play when you get popped from your own company because of their MCC. There's still a grind to farm extra energy for galaxy gate with the pirate maps or bonus boxes from pvp maps, again, another reason why people just buy some botting engine. DO isn't really giving any handouts besides the ones they sometimes throw like 25-50 EE in the calendar (not a single one in this months calendar) which is nothing when you need around avg 2k EE for a single zeta. There's still many problems and free lasers and generators don't solve those two issues.

BTW, I read on Kongregate a comment from this year a player bought the $20 "starter kit" that gives you a goliath, 4 irises and 10 lf4s and b02s and when they realized they couldn't fight back against a uber UFE, they were just wasted their money. They should've done more research in what they were buying, but the fact that DO even has those kits available for noobs to buy is pretty sad.

  3. OK , need some clarification . Is it better to equip your ship first with the Proms. or put them on the drones?

  4. Drones ofc, any effects your drone designs (stat bonus, not cosmetic) benefits the drones alone, some drone designs gives a set bonus that affects the entirety of your ship's stats (Mainly HP, cooldowns and other non-specific factors like rockets and rocket launcher and missile cooldown) Also, drones passively gives a bonus to any lasers or shields you equip on them at level 6 (further more at level upgrades) and, with the new addition to ship modules, it affects everything that your ship has from laser damage to shields to hp.

Your best configuration would be equipping your drones with your best Lasers available and putting the rest of your best available lasers (Prom lasers on drones, LF-4s or maybe the rest of your Prom lasers) That is why players tend to upgrade drones first, because it naturally enhances everything you equip on drones, rather than upgrading your lasers or shields first because the upgrade count of the drones are limited to 8,9 or 10 (10 including apis and zeus drones)

If your ship however is fully equipped with Prom lasers, every 5th salvo of laser you shoot at a target will show a visual effect of a purple laser, 3 small lasers stacked.

  5. All ships, best guns or shields on drones accept for the Leonov. The Leonov ship gives the best bonus, so best guns, shields to the ship first then drones.

That only applies to the Leonov ship if the ship is on its own Home Map, since it has the "Home Map" advantage to where as everything from damage to shields are doubled in effect, so every lasers and shields you equip on your ship is more effective than when its on your drones.

Leonov are basically an elite ship on lower maps, even if brought to bear an elite cyborg, it could still put up a fight, considering all of its rockets are double in damage, it has a big advantage of devastatingly deal atleast 30,000 damage on a PLT-3030 with Chevron Drone Formation in use and could be more if other rocket damage effect is applied such as the Silver Demon Drone Design.

  7. Pretty much what I was thinking and it is how I currently have my configs. set up. I just needed to hear it from someone else with possibly more experience than me. TY.

You don't really need any Experience with the game if you get to read, and analyze the situation from the get-go, but because of how D.O laid up the descriptions and incomplete details, it's gonna be difficult to determine its real effects.

I wasn't suggesting that someone attempt to build an account through the calendar. I am just saying that it is much easier to build an account now without cheating than it was when I started 6 years ago. I have a life and a job so I don't play all day and i don't have bots play for me. It took me 3 years just to get to full LF4 with hercs and havocs. It can be done well inside a year now. I still think Kappa is very stingy when it comes to giving out hercs. So if your unlucky that may take some time. Yes, its true they aren't giving away a laser this month. They are giving away 6000 rinusk (or whatever its called) so you can build a prom laser. How long should it take for a new play to become UFE? I don't think a year is that long.

  10. Just find a clan and play with them if you are into Prometheus, but even if you aren't, just get another laser. Seriously, there's so many lasers now including Enhanced LF-4s, there's no need to make a big deal about this one. If you aren't interested in Blacklight it shouldn't be an issue anyway.
