Demilitarized Zones

There is a particular player that keeps destroying me while I am in the Demilitarized Zones. I am just sitting there by the gate, not attacking anyone or doing anything, and they are able to attack and destroy me.

I thought the Demilitarized Zones were safe from attack? Does it vary with the particular map or something?

 

What map is this on? If this is on any 4-X map, there are no demilitarized zones.

If you are NOT on a map that belongs to YOUR company, be aware that the demilitarized protection, if any, is only temporary, and will disappear within a few seconds. Once that is lost, you will not regain any demilitarized zone protections, until you are back in your own company's maps.

 

2-1 is my home map, this is occurring at the North East portal in 2-3, so I think it is all on my company's maps?

 

I'm really unsure about it then. Do you have any video evidence of this by chance?

Be aware that there is a bit of a bug where if you merely click to move, it can trigger a "mouse press & hold," where you would continue flying to other people, but not on your screen. This can lead you out of the DMZ & attacked by others. The only way to bypass this is by moving only by the mini-map, and not on screen.

You can tell this is happening when you're sitting still, but you see dots appearing elsewhere on the mini-map, away from your visual position.

There is no cheat method available to force a player out of DMZ

 

Appreciate the replies. I feel like this player has figured out a bug or cheat, since he is able to attack other ships in their own DMZ.

 

If you have your pet out and it shoots you lose demil. Back when the pet first came out I was popped this way by the folks that knew exactly how to get the pet to fire on them and then they would light you up.

You also need to be sure you are actually on the port as the game will sometimes jump you into a map a short distance from the port.

Any time you are shooting you do not have demil.

 

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have a PET and it shows me sitting at the gate. I am not shooting, and typically this happens immediately after I jump, then manually move to the edge of the portal.

Thanks, since you mentioned that I have been clicking only on the mini map, but have still been attacked while in the DMZ.

 

Happened to me also sitting at a gate. Player comes up and dead. There are NO reasons why this should happen!
