CITADEL - 2 Rocket Launchers work same as 1. Fix it!

  1. Hello, I've decided to post this in the English forum also. Sorry if my translation is not perfect.

    The Citadel ship has 2 rocket launchers that reload 1 by 1. If you notice, this is exactly same as having 1 rocket launcher.
    1 Rocket Launcher = 5 sec = 5 rockets(10 sec = 10 rockets)
    2 Rocket Launchers = 10 sec = 10 rockets
    Citadel is the most expensive ship in the game, I think it deserves 2 rocket launchers which recharge together(at same time).
    There's no point of having 2 Rocket Launchers since they work same as 1.
    My idea is to adjust the Rocket Launchers so they can recharge/reload together

  2. I don't fly a citadel, prob never will, but I agree with you. It is an expensive ship, and cant hit very hard as it is, so give it the rockets I say...Unless someone has some direct experience with this ship who could say otherwise.

    ..In the end it would add at most 40k extra damage every 5 seconds ?? (I'm estimating, IDK max damage for hellstorms with sep and bio)...but I know thats close.

    That doesn't seem to too overpowering, almost just what it needs from what I've heard before from other citadel flyers.
     
  3. considering it takes another 5 seconds after the first volley of the rocket launcher is fired to recharge, I think it's not necessary after the first volley since the citadel will eventually outdps any other single rocket launcher ship (not including any other dps).

    But the idea has logic in it, they are two separated launchers.

    If you have two guns and one of them is loaded and the other one isn't, it's obvious you're going to shoot with the one that's loaded before reloading.

  4. I've always been thinking about suggesting this, and as an Experienced Citadel player:
    -as a slow moving ship, it's tricky for me to keep up with vengeances or spearheads, and goliaths can even easily outrun me when I'm at full speed(this part doesn't have anything to do with the hellstorm launcher reload, I know).
    -While it can equip a total of only 7 laser cannons aboard the ship, it compensates with the ability to equip itself with TWO hellstorm launchers, which is suppose to make it more powerful in the rocket category.
    -so I have to aggree, reloading for 10 seconds is a real pain and most of the times leaves an easy gap for fast-moving enemies to escape real easier and quick-killing ufe goliaths (for the huge amount of laser cannons they can equip) and aegises (for their quick-repairing abilities, since the laser cannons on your Citadel isn't good enought to outbest it) to finish you off before you get the chance to fire your last resort.:confused:

    So +1 for me! make it reload all 10 rockets in 5 seconds :D

    PS: as a non-ufe with 10 drones (1 havoc and the rest normal), 11 LF-4 and an extra 7 LF-3 lasers (seprom powered and 20% DMG boost) I still managed to win in a 1v1 against a ufe goliath single-handedly whenever they don't add shield configs.:cool:

    I'm not a citadel pilot yet but I completely agree that both launchers should load at the same time

    When the citadel arrived I was very interested. Got one on the test server and never bothered in game. I don't mean to disrespect anyone that flies one but if I did get it in the new auction it would probably be used for sending ore only.

    I really thought the rocket launcher should reload at the same rate, ie. firing 10 rockets every 5 seconds otherwise, as many have pointed out, after the first volley it's no different to having 1 rocket launcher as far as the damage output is considered. Feels a little like a con.

    I agree, citadel should reload each rocket launcher at the same time firing 10 rockets every 5 seconds. Might see a few more of them knocking about then ;)
     
  7. I also use my Citadel to send ore only. Before time I used to be the tank of the group, taking most of the damage while my teammates shoot hard. But now, since much people stopped playing, there's no players to protect anymore - so I started playing the Goliath/Aegis again.

    I'm not planning to hunt with my Citadel anymore, not until they fix the Rocket Launchers.

    Right!!! I wanna see how flying around in one of those ships is like, so far I been in a Lib and a Leo.

    Great idea, but why isn't this implemented already?
    Citadel is crappiest special ship, and at same time most expensive, so it deserves both rocketlauncher's to reload at same time.
     
  11. Well if your ok with me blasting you 53k every 5 seconds then yeah make the change ;D...thats 53,000 with Yellows and 2 lvl 16 launchers.
     
  12. Yes, we're all ok with being hit a "whopping" 50k every 5 seconds. It's better than being hit 200k every 3 seconds eh? I don't know why DO delights in their cheap little schemes, but players are tiring of it. Fix the citadel. Didn't even know the two rocket launchers worked as one...there goes my idea of getting one from the bid.
     
  13. Well the point on my comment was that both launcher loading at the same time, id be popping most golis with my hard config much easier just because the the better hellstorm damage.

    That would be a 193k combo dmg with just rsb,x4 and hellstorms if the citadel has enough upgrades and boost to hit 140k rsb x4..

  14. That's the point. Goli has 200k combo, citadel has 150k combo and 50k hellstorm damage.

    The only way this will happen "according to what I see in forum" is for the goliath ship to add at least 5 more guns before the rocket launchers are made to reload together so that the goliath ship stays the best in the game.

    Or at the very least allow the ship to fire a second R-310 type rocket per volley.

  16. No one shoots R310s and the goliath will never get more guns. I don't see why DO can't just make the two work properly like they should.

    Even with fixing the rocket launchers to work the way they really should work the goliath is still a faster ship than the citadel and costs a lot less. Whether you look at the price in the shop or in auction the cit is more expensive for what is essentially a garage.

    Fix the rocket launchers please...
     
  18. I agree with the owner of that thread. I also wanted so much that fat ship and finally got it but i was disappointed about it. yeah it is strong but i think rocketer should reload 10 rockets in 5 secs!

    P.P I saw this thread in Bulgarian forum and there i wrote the same.

    +1 +1 +1 I really want citadel to repair this stupidity , i really lvoe have 2 rocket launchers but reloading time is horrible, in different ship before die my HSTRMs can safe my live earlier

    I want it really much :):)
