Tech Item Updates

  1. Re-posting an old idea that hasn't come up for awhile :).

    3 tech items need an update to once again make them useful in-game, as it stands, they are worthless because of the massive damage one can deal.

    1-Chain impulse: This one should do between 25-50k shield damage or just damage. This one has always been kind of useless.

    2-Backup shields: 150K shields instead of 75k.

    3-Battle repair bot: 15k HP per second for 10 seconds, or 10k for 20 seconds, 20k for 10 seconds maybe, this one is iffy.

    The precision targeter and energy leach seem fine to me though suggestions are welcomed.
     
  2. Sure, I don't see a problem with this idea. I know a lot of players that will never open that third tech slow because it's fairly useless. Changing things up slightly may change that.

    2. There isn't a pet function that gives you shields, only the combo gear that gives your pet a temporary insta-shield. Even if there was, the tech items certainly still need an update.

    3. The tech items were here before the pet and they are lacking anyways, the pet shouldn't be a replacement for the tech items, not everyone has a pet or the necessary gears or they would want to use both the repair bot and gear concurrently.
     
  5. +1 for me. The Techs are kinda getting useless since people can do a lot more damage now. Battle repair bot 15,000 for 10 sec would be the best. 10,000 for 20 sec is a little to overpowered and 20,000 hp for 10 sec is a little to much. Overall this is a great idea and would bring more strategic play into the game instead of pow pow your dead.

    Hell yea!!!
    1) 50k shield damage is cool.
    2) It's gotta b full shields.
    3)20k a second for 5 seconds.

    i like 50k shield damage to not make it op.
    full shields bcuz anything less is a waste.
    20k healing a second for 5 seconds just makes sense bcuz insta popping is possible even with this upgrade. does the precision targeter also work with eco type rockets? if not make it work with em.
    that energy leach looks op as it is.
     
  7. 15k for 10 seconds it is on the battle repair bot.

    1. 50k does seem best.
    2. Way to overpowered.
    3. That's the same HP as before, just twice as fast, 15k for 10 seconds is best.

  8. I think your 2., and 3. are really bad reasoning, since we have Aegis. o_O Besides your 2. is anyways in valid like (BOSS)Adam[FFK] stated already.

    I think it's good to have alternative ways to perform different actions, and tec-items are outdated anyways, witch makes this idea excellent. :cool:

    1) Whoa....It's 50k SHIELD damage. <<<<<<SHIELD DAMAGE!!!
    2) overpowered how? it's called "backup shield", not backup partial or sorta shield. return of full shield should be the focus of that idea.
    3) 20k a second for 5 seconds is just rite, how would slower repair b of any use other than a waste of resources to get since u'll still pop while waiting for the healing to b completed.

    ur almost there, stop waterin these ideas of ur's down so much.
     
  10. 1. 50k isn't much to begin with but only shield damage, meh...I don't like that lol.
    2. Its a ''backup shield'', not a super shield, I just feel like 150k is best.
    3. 20k is the same as what we have now, though it is quicker which can be better, a balance should be struck, 15k for 10 seconds is that balance.
     
  11. Hold on Adam, you said no to my idea but yet you run up and bring this back up? I dont see how you can say no to my idea of allowing the pet to heal you during a battle but yet you wanna increase the shield back up and the hp rep? this gets a NO from me just on principle. Nah just kidding, i think 150k is not a good amound, that is too much, that should be tempered to maybe 100k, 150k would be too much especially for people trying to fend off a UFE who has that tech.
    15k per sec for 10 secs allows you to get 150k HP, NO way, 10k for 20 equal 200k hp and the same applies for 20k for 10 secs. Thats way to much, these items are meant to get you almost full HP, they are designed to provide you with a small edge during battles and npcs. Thats like having almost 3 configs bud. Im sorry that Part I am not in agreement with.
    I do agree with chain impulse, it really is useless, so adding damage makes more sense.
     
  12. Letting the pet heal in battle is OP. The battle repair bot and back-up shields on the other hand just aren't to useful against the massive damage players can put out nowadays's, this is an update for an item that was intended for battle. 150k for the backup shield was just me doubling what it originally gave, I feel like that number is balanced for everyone involved. 15k for 10 seconds is 150k HP, most players can have 5x that and deal that much damage in a few seconds, in retrospect it is only a small advantage because of the massive damage that is thrown around. The chain impulse is certainly useless as it stands.

    1. I think they should remove the chain one entirely. What useful purpose does it serve?

    2. 100k shields or 200k but change the cost of making it then? sticking to bps multiples isn't something I would agree to.

    3. figure it ought to remain as is. Coupled with the aegis repair abilities and cooldown boosters this ability would become a hindrance..
    Just look how enjoyable the game was before RSB and the jump chip..and how desolate it is now.

    well why not make chain deal the 10k damage for each targeted npc until they are destroyed.
    when activated, it targets up to 7 npc's firing on u and draws them in so they don't run during the volleys. upgrade the cool down to 4 min. oh and make the visual effect be the ship spinning in a 360 degree continuous volley of lasers and rockets. and the ships speed is dropped by 10% during cool down.

    2. After thinking through this, I felt that it was balanced so ya, 150k shields!

    3. Not everyone has an Aegis, its even less likely that someone with an Aegis would spend excess uridium for this though I do agree, a double cool-down booster woud be a better investment lol.

    You lost me at spinning ships and lasers, this sounds scary as hell to.
     
  19. So how about people like me or others who can have up to 1,500,000 shields per configuration and do decent damage? Gilgalad on east 1 has a spearhead doing 30k x4 with 900k shields. No. Full shield regen is a bad, bad idea. 175k or so would be much better

    1. The colours aren't pretty enough :p so no.

    2. 100k is better than 75k. 200k with an increase in cost is even better. 150k isn't a multiple of a hundred so chances of BP messing that bit up are close to 100%.

    3. I'm an FE and I have an aegis.. I don't even use the repair tech and neither do the other 99% of FEs on my server. It's almost inevitable that by the time the tech becomes a regular weapon, the owner will own an Aegis. also 10k urid for a cooldown booster (don't forget the super cooldown booster during mhh), is pretty cheap. I say with certainty, every player can afford one or at least make that amount within a short time.
