    Note before i start: I finally managed it to find some time translating my German idea into English to cover more feedback possibilities. No guarantees given of a typos-free text.

    After a relatively short but meaningful discussion i decided to create an idea again for a new map that covers a challenge for any elite player as well as a way to improve the teamwork of players.

    Also i finally had some time again creating a long idea and here it is, the wastelands!

    please keep in mind: I don't have any graphical content available, i'm not a designer, but i'll try as good as possible to explain the style. Without further talking, let's getting started! :)

    The wastelands - Story
    The wastelands - A graveyard, the doom or as many call it: The home of these who never wanted to show there face. There are many reasons to keep this place a secret, that's why the faction-leaders decided to keep it a secret and suppressing any evidence of the existence of that place - their worst mistake ever. Within the depths of the wastelands a huge fleet is raising which don't mean any harm yet but which surpass the technology level of all existing factions by a high amount. The renegades - that's how the human-like beings are called - were once humans, but due to the bad environmental conditions since the last super-nova they slightly mutated. Not just the look changed but their mind as well. No matter how it happened, we have to end it. Elite pilots, set course to the wastelands!

    The wastelands is the newest map then... designed for all those who think the game is too easy. The wastelands is available at level 19 for everyone and contains besides of very strong enemies also a rich amount of interactive environment. The portal will be at the X-8 between the both portals leading to the wastelands, but be warned: Whoever isn't in a group won't be able to beat this map, mark my words on that!

    The wastelands - the map
    The wastelands is a sector that was burned into ashes by the last super nova and nothing is left but wreckages... Burning debris, wreckages, scrap - from everything something, that's why the map will also have debris-walls like those in the pirate maps (just in the center). The Map-Background will represent a dead star - it's dark, silent, rotten... everything what you would find in a wasteland. On the map itself you'll find besides of enemies some wreckages, often together with cargo boxes for loot, debris which can damage your ship but also asteroids for resources (there's also a new resource).

    The map itself will be 600/600 big and is slightly bigger than our known 4-4 battlemap (basically to fill the environment just perfectly), the portal on this map is located at the bottom center, the wreckages, debris and asteroids are placed randomly everywhere on the map and in the center is a debris-labyrinth, with the fleet-leader within. While you can find weaker enemies in the outer parts of this map, in the center are the strongest. That's for the map, time to get the enemies ready!

    The wastelands - the renegades
    They are no empire, they are no pirates... the renegades are literally the last 'humans' which survived the super-nova. They survived it, but also mutated however and are now their own faction... they see their self as "the former"... they never really were true members of the factions.

    The style of the enemies is a mix between ancient design but also armored ships, similar to pirates, yet different. They have no shields and that's what makes them so special: They have an incredibly strong hull. Fitting weapons, strategy and a class-system makes these enemies vicious! Besides of that, their firing range is the same as ours, so circling makes no sense! :) Also all enemies have a huge amount of uridium reward, so we can finally give the cubicon a small break.

    All enemies have a repair bot installed, when not attacked for 10 seconds they heal 2% of their total HP every second.

    There are 3 AI-Types:
    Normal: Usual retreating at 20% HP
    Heroic: Stays at the players until death
    Distant: Flies away from the player and stays at distance

    Cloak - Stays cloaked till it attacks and cloaks again when not under fire for 10 seconds (undetectable through radar)

    EMP - Uses it after losing 80% HP.

    -(Wastelands Void)-
    "Mysterious prototype using antimatter technology to deal massive damage and teleport to players to raid or to retreat, also is the second strongest enemy in the fleet"

    Speed: 400

    Attacks:
    Antimatter bolts - Dark spheres, similar to black holes, dealing 25.000 Area damage on impact.
    Antimatter missiles - Highly explosive rockets and highly dangerous missiles, dealing 40.000 damage all 4 seconds
    Antimatter nova - Releases a smartbomb-like explosion dealing 30.000 damage to all players (every 6 seconds.

    Abilities
    Antimatter-Field - Reduces the hit-chance of all attackers by 50% for 5 seconds, activates all 20 seconds
    Teleportation - Teleports to the players to attack or teleports away for retreat. The teleport range isn't to long.

    -(Wastelands Vindicator)-
    "The dreadnought of the fleet and the leader, it fights just unfair enough to win most competitions."
    AI: Heroic
    HP: 20.000.000
    Speed: 200

    Attacks:
    Multi-targeting laser - attacks all players in range with 15.000 damage each per second.
    Singularity projectiles - Fires a charged bolt that deals 30.000 damage on impact and leaves an anomaly that additionally deals 15.000 damage per second every 5 seconds. This attack is being used every 5 seconds.
    Firestorm missiles - Fires a rocket at all players in range which deals 2.000 impact damage but leaves a DoT that deals 3.000 damage each second over 10 seconds (all 8 seconds, can miss)

    Abilities
    Nanobot-disruptor - Releases an energy wave that doesn't deal damage but prevents healing for 10 seconds (all 15 seconds)
    Tempest-Missiles - Fires a huge barrage of missiles over 5 seconds at the top 3 contibutors of dealing the most damage, dealing 12.000 damage each missile every second.
    Frost-nova - Freezes all player in place for 5 seconds and acts like a buffed EMP. Players can't do anything. (Uses it after 30% HP loss)

    50.000 Honor

    Cargo drop:
    10 cargo boxes with 200 seprom each

    100% chance of dropping "nanomatix hull-part"
    100% chance of dropping "Wasteland goliath" blueprint

    These were the enemies... yes, they are beatable ... ... ... in a group :)

    The wastelands - the missions
    of course there should be no map without new missions. All missions are based on the wastelands and usually ask for destroying an enemy. This time not a chain mission (suggested in german forum before). All missions are available at level 19 with the exception of one which is available at level 24 :)

    The wastelands
    "We never wanted to tell our pilots about this, but it has to be told. Pilot, we need you, immediately! As you probably noticed already a portal appeared on the x-8 map leading to the wastelands. What the wastelands are? Call it as you want... hell, graveyard... an unknown force is raising... till now they always were peaceful but we have to make sure it stays this way. the renegades are the inhabitants of this sector and incredibly dangerous. Collect the best pilots you can find and show your skills! We count on you, if we lose, we lose everything."

    Task: destroy 10 wastelands inhabitants

    Nerves like steel
    "What is this? A Battlecruiser? But it only has a low weaponry. I place a bet on a ship like out citadel. Not even our scans can bypass the thick plating of this hull. This thing must be out of pure steel. We have to face it. Even if it has a low weaponry it is still dangerous if it is nearly invulnerable."

    "Heavy cruisers incoming! As if the artillery wasn't enough... You know the task: Take them out!"

    Unknown technology
    "Pilot, very bad news! A new enemy is incoming and it seems to use the best technology ever seen. We gave him the code name 'void'. He uses the till now unresearched antimatter and he is even able to use it without failure! This is incredible and horrifying at the same time! Kill 2 of them!!! As reward we give you a free zeta gate!"

    Task: destroy 2 wastelands void

    Final frontier (lvl 24 Mission)
    "Pilot, you have proven yourself, you served the faction well and you reached and extraordinarily high level, it's time to give you the last mission. We discovered a huge dreadnought. It seems to be incredibly large and it serves a huge firepower. If we manage it to destroy this monster then we might have a chance to capture the wastelands!"

    Task: destroy 1 wasteland vindicator
    rewards:
    - 50.000 Uridium
    - 100.000 honor
    - 225.000.000 EXP
    - 10.000 UCB-100
    - 5.000 RSB-75
    - 1 month of premium

    The wastelands - The debris, asteroids and wreckages
    As the first map with a huge, interactive environment i want to give you a closer look on these and what they do.

    The debris
    The debris are similar to the palladium-nebula and deals 1% Direct hull damage. They are supposed to make the map more tactical, also... in there are the most wreckages :)

    The wreckages
    Wreckages are rare but valuable places on this map. They do not just fill this map but also give out precious loot. The loot can be:
    -> 40 - 100 Seprom
    -> 50 - 100 UBR-100
    -> 100 - 500 UCB-100
    -> 1 Part of Steelplates
    -> 1 - 3 Parts like mucosmium, prismatium, scrap etc.

    Asteroids
    These asteroids can contain valuable resources and are respawning stones you can shot at like real enemies and usually have around 200.000 - 1.000 health. They can contain promerium, seprom but also the new "Prestium". Prestium is a resource used in the assembly feature to create wasteland technology. They usually drop in numbers of up to 20.

    The wasteland - the blueprints increase!
    The wasteland not only offers a challenge, but also new technology. For now there is only 1 part... the assembly parts are:

    Wasteland-Goliath
    The wasteland goliath is a special goliath that gives +5% damage but also +10% damage against any wastelands enemy. It's active skill "Wastelands drone" is a special ability that spawns a drone that deals 8.000 damage and has 400.000 HP and stays for 30 seconds. Has a 60 second cooldown.

    Requires:
    420 Prestium
    240 Steel plating (maybe to much?)
    28 laser crystals
    1 nanomatrix hull part
    1 hour build time.

    Possible ideas/suggestions:
    Adding daily mission-station
    Yeah, pretty much what the name says, a special station for missions dedicated to the wastelands. They could give out a decent reward and be hard. Randomly generated missions would be even better.

    Chain mission
    Adding a whole story-like dedicated to this map with a high completion-reward. This is a good idea because more missions = more rewards = more fun :)

    they might actually do this. you pretty much did all their work for them. i dont dislike the idea, some of them seem harder than theyre worth though. for instance you got a few in there with a million or so hp, which should be worth like 1k uri or more since the only things in the game that have that much hp are worth that much in the game. be nice to have npcs a bit more worth shooting at.

    also the one that has 20mil hp and requires a group sounds like a fun challenge lol

    Wow, amazing and high quality idea. Couple suggestions:

    Just an idea to possibly add, a special small base that gives random mini missions each day?
    Basically just the daily quests, but harder, and you get one each day at only a quest place in the wasteland?

    Maybe eventually also make a quest chain? Because having regular quests + chain would be interesting, as a storyline can be very interesting. (Definitely a not-needed thing though)

    Only thing I don't like is the quest to kill a vindicator, very good quest except the premium, knowing bigpoint they probably won't want to give out free loot like that
    :p

    Quest itself is nice, but premium might make it null.

    Anyway, nice idea, good backstory, very much hope it gets added. Would be a very fun place to gain new items/grind.

    Also, I could understand all of it. German to english was good.

    A well thought out and presented idea. Even without the generous quest rewards (I doubt BP would be that generous), I would very much like to see this implemented in the game.

    Yeah, maybe i should raise the rewards of some NPC's by a little amount. Maybe 110% Of what they currently are. Will think about it :)

    Yeah, daily missions which are randomly generated is a great idea and i did that before on another idea of mine (can translate it too). Such like "Kill 25 Soldiers" Or "Deal 10.000.000 Damage to Vindicator", great idea, definitely add this one as "Possible ideas", thanks :)

    Therefor, a mission chain was also suggested by me already, the same as the daily mission one... I can link the German post, google translate can help so far slightly understanding it, maybe i will translate this one too. SO yeah, chain mission is a good idea. Here is the German idea: Click

    The premium is just a possible reward and so far only a suggestion^^ But yes, gotta agree with that, this probably won't happen, but honestly would be nice as reaching level 24 is already a hard task and should get rewarded.

    I'm glad you like it, and yeah, i'm also satisfied with the translation... maybe some grammar misspellings^^

    Thanks, i'm glad you like it :D Also, it's not an event but a regular and permanent map as challenge for everyone who reaches level 19... I felt like we don't really have challenges so far which require both a good group and a high level... Hitac is also solo-able as far as i know, never done it so far though^^ Vindicator might come in handy at this point especially with the healing-disabling skill which will definitely make to much aegises useless or not as effective anymore.

    Same^^ Also would love to see this ingame, finally a challenge and a map to work for. Darkorbit lacks at cooperative content and this would fix it. Glad you like it :D
