Removed users for illegal software

    Hello spacepilots,

    Over the years we have had to deal with users who choose to exercise cheating (macros, scripts, external programs, scripts, software, or bot use) to "play" our game. We have provided you numbers of banned accounts over the years but in that time our emphasis in wording has resulted in these being summarized as 'bot users' despite other cheat methods being used, caught and banned as well.

    Today we'd like to revamp our thread where we would notify you of these numbers and emphasize that these banned user numbers pertain to any use of illegal third-party software. While we may yet summarize these simply as "bot users", please do not mistake this as if other methods of unfair play aren't being included.

    With that, you can find our past bot announcement (2014-2015) numbers here.

    As for our most recent announced numbers, they were announced in our recent Producer's note regarding bots:
    Please keep in mind that the punishment for using illegal software to "play" the game hasn't changed: accounts detected will be terminated.

    Today we laid about 303 unique accounts to rest for bot usage.

    These accounts have been permanently banned.

    Another 412 accounts were terminated due to illegal programs last week.
