[UI] try this for an idea

    given the situation with mcc.s how about making all the lower maps ie x1 x2 x3 x4 do the same as x1 does at moment( nme cant shoot till you do in x1) then have all other maps pvp this enables noobs to get strong enough to get pvp ready. if you take away uri from bonus boxes in the lowers and put extra in uppers and gg spins are got in 4x maps and pirates, this will make it so hard for auto scripts to gain an advantage and gives the newbies a helping hand this is only a thought i put up this post either for someone to expand on it or someone to get another idea to put forward please do not shoot this down but try to use it to start some one thinking ....(thought of the day.. if you get popped dont get mad get even ...)

  2. how about we change it and get rid of mccs all together. that seems like a smart idea instead of having clans that are listed as mmo while the majority of their members are vru make it so the clan you make has only one affiliation and shooting those players with the same affiliation as the clan takes away 1 clan rank for everry player of the same affiliation they attack.

    The basic concept is good, except the NEW player needs EE and Uridium to grow also. The fact that you are trying to get even with the MCC this way is another bad part, again implementing a "Same Company No Lock" safety device is a better option as then they could not help their "Mates" kill you. Then you also have the issue of the enemy NEW players who need to be able to get PvP practice and the lowers is the place to do that.

    I might add that a RANK based protection might work in the lowers, this means you can not attack anyone of a lower RANK than you, unless they are dumb enough to attack first.

    its not so much against the mccs ,im trying to find a way noobs have more protection without autos benifiting but i appreiciate all ideas ill just have to keep on thinking :))

  6. im a new player on DO, but im allrdy darn tired of gettin farmed, they should make some better pvp rules imo, gettin farmed at gate, take gate and get farmed at new map, nowhere to go exept start place, imo its rly too bad when u think how old DO is, makes alot of ppl quit due to camp.

    i did ask for the trolls not to comment but theres al ways one ,im a full ufe and i dont get smacked in maps .i am trying to help other ppl by trying to think of new ways to attract more ppl and keep them if this is not to your taste please just ignore this post thanks

    hi chill yes all of us can understand that in 2010 wen i was a noob i died 200 odd times in a month, but then we worked as companys and weall helped our own comp wen it went into recession shall we say they lost lots a ppl sothe same ppl would get popped som regularly that caused a second decline so untill we get more players it will be hard to progress but with the game so advanced now its an uphill struggle but i wish you luck and stick with it
     
  9. PvP and PvE are two player suited groups that simply are difficult to "equalize" for lack of a better word'...

    Anyway I too believe certain situations and areas should be safe havens for weaker/ newer players, so they can build their ships and abilities up! on the other hand' for many players they like the confrontation of battling others, rather than just NPCs...me as well at times.
    D.O. has already built in restricted areas (safe havens) from combat (portals for example), but perhaps automatically limit of kills permited of the same player within a 24 hour window?!...
    IDK if that's even possible but if it is, if so perhaps limit same person kills to once or twice every 24 hours...I know that players can already contact support for bulling...but if limited kills were auto, I believe that could help ease fustration.
    Or perhaps
    Give lower level players who venture in the X1 thru X4 maps, boosted shield/ damage strength! like the Leonov...regardless of the ship they have?!
    I know that these are not save all answers, I'm just trying to help keep new blood coming into D.O. Thx...

    ty for your input coral sea ,i diont think it will ever be equal but the booster idea may be a good way of helpin them too survive the first year however i can understand ppl hunt newbies for there quests but continually poppin of them is a bit much ,i suppose if they were under a certain level once popped they get a 5 min protection shield, anyone else have a thought

    not bad idea but can be easily got round : ie if a pilot is popped by npcs he doesnt lose points but gets a free 5 min protection all he has to do is keep getting popped by npcs , but ty for thinkin bout it :))

    i wonder if low level players would benifit with new smaller gates designed to give some equip (up to a certain level that is )rather than lots of ep and hon any suggestions
     
  14. Not trolling, just pointing out you're probably trash and are making excuses, I know a lot of UFE's that couldn't pop a flax goli if they tried, because most of you blow loads.

    I'm sorry but PVP is NOT a strong player sneaking up on a much weaker one (who has no choice in this), while cloaked, then blowing them up - usually by just one or two shots! No-one will ever convince me that this is PVP.

    In an ideal world, PVP is two or more players who mutually CHOOSE and agree to go up against each other. Failing that, at the very least players who are decent and attack others who actually have a chance of fighting back. This game could encourage this and make proper use of the PVP maps by doing so thereby freeing up the home maps so others can enjoy the PVE side of the game if they wish.

    There is a big difference in the above and it's part of the reason, in my honest opinion, that the player base is shrinking the way it is. New/weaker/non-paying members (however you want to class them) may well be leaving because of the 'bullying' (for want of a better word) that goes on by the stronger players. That, and the stupid in-company fighting that goes on and yes, I do believe MCCs should be abolished. If these changes were made I might just come back myself but all the while this stuff still goes on, I'll stick to other games.

    does it matter ?were tring to have a go at some ideas because everyone wants to have fun so if we could find a way to even things up a bit might make it even more fun :)

    ooh how bout if there was an hour long booster available with uri say 5000 that gives you protection from nme but also stops you firing on anyone , this will enable players who 1v1 say in 4-4 to have players ring side watching without shooting each other. grudges could be settled in public then or people who want to video can in safety

  18. Bots could abuse that no problem, they make well over 10,000 an hour just from boxing. Giving up half of their collection to not die a billion times is worth it to them.

    its so hard to come up with a way that company fighting is brought back i always enjoyed fighting as a company the team spirit was immense but theres no way at moment to bring this back the infrastructure is there ie spaceball and ctb etc but mccs make it not worth playing anymore is there someway we could make an event thats not clan based but aims to get companys fighting as such again

  20. To balance the companies, Dark Orbit needs to do one simple thing . . .


    Disable the ability of the Advanced Jump CPU to access enemy company maps. Of course it can still be used to jump to your own company's maps.


    This would achieve two major things:

    • I. Invaders within hunting groups that are destroyed will no longer be able to jump directly back to the map they were killed at, therefore their buddies will be left 'high and dry'; they'll slowly be picked off one by one. If invaders want to relaunch another coordinated attack, then they'll be forced to exit enemy maps to regroup in the nearest map that their jump chip allows them to teleport to.
    • II. Since invaders can no longer teleport randomly into any map, they'll be required to use portals, where they can be sighted, chased, and destroyed. Remember back in old Dark Orbit when 30 players would camp portals to keep their company's maps safe? Those were the golden days of Dark Orbit PvP, when invaders had a difficult time sneaking past players on their home maps.
