+++ Unity Open Beta Test +++ -updates??

i'm currently looking forward to get into the test server you all been aware of issues with unity i totally understand . Also feels there is a bit of miscomunications about the test Server issues as the last announcement was today at 01:16 and is litterally been 15 hours without any news or further updates . Currently on discord chat nobody knows what is happening. Could you guys keep us updated ? thank you

discord is not really a official channel though it annoys me that there is no forum thread related to giving feedback about the beta test.
something is wrong with the login because i tried to login and got logged on any servers i've been playing previously, be it global or US2, last i checked discord the team is aware of the issue but what they didn't account for was the login systems they put in place a while back and wanted people using the client to login to test server specifically without showing it up on server browser, causing issues that both mod and user said that a few hours ago and i second them, i often forget which server i play so it's always a gamble when i type in my login and password and to be dead honest i'm tired of playing in US2 because it's so dead, global at least has the robots giving it some life, even if artificial, reminds me of the old times where maps were filled with people flying around.

 

the cap is reached of the server already thus i cant play there xD

 

I'd like to ask bigpoint about analytics, they're collecting user data without consent and don't even give us option to opt out. That's against european union general data protection laws and overall is scummy.

Also perma stuck on 40%, good job.

 

From reading DarkOrbit's Discord, quite a few people were able to get it to load by changing their Windows(OS) language to English. (something to try as a temporary fix, unless already is set to English. Seems this language issue can cause quite a few weird things, so something to try if experiencing anything weird)

Unzipping/downloading it again also worked for some people, which would be another thing to try.

the best part in this server is that there are no clan battle stations in sight, drone damage being back is alright too.

 

After reading the text in the upper left corner of the image, all I could do was laugh for a minute. Then I posted this reply while watching the captured image do a small forward enlarge, then a backward image setting, until the 3 rd line of text was being entered, then it stopped jumping.

 

glad you found my issue funny, but it's weird that there is no afk disconnect measure like in regular servers but you still get the captcha boxes if you have been standing still or doing gates, i've been going lambda to level up on test server due to 45 pieces, though you could go hades as well since you get a solace and a cyborg from leveling event mission but you also need more than one player to start it
auction is weird too, it doesn't reset prices after the auction ends and the prices keep stacking until a server restart.

also there some annoying bugs too, if you jump all your slotbars will be positioned to the bottom left and if you drag and drop you can bug out and have the dragged item permanently attached to your mouse until you close and reopen the client, same fix for a bug where your active boosters become inactive-ish but you can still see the value they are giving, if you remove the show all boosters then all of your greyed-out active boosters vanish from the booster window


oh and the ship login page is just awful, it shows your ships per time you acquire them and your active/favorite ships don't change the load order so you have to right click a while to find your active ship if you get something from auction after getting the level up reward ships, jeez.

 

this client looks ai generated, like it's darkorbit but something's not right, the amount of bugs is laughable and it took you how much time to make this? i had to relog after each jump lmao, 3d looks bad as always and 2d behaves even worse than 3d with glitches and bugs, you totally butchered it and I don't think month is enough to bring it up to par
once it rolls out to live servers I'll give it a try once, but if it won't be at the very least the same as flash (should be better but hey they only charge for almost everything in this game, they don't have resources) I'm dropping the game

you don't even want my feedback, I ain't making discord account, have you read their tos? you have barely functional forum, why not use it? or lemme introduce you to this crazy novel idea of collecting feedback in two places at the same time

 

the client is bad but it's a 0.1.1 open beta version so that can be excused a bit but i wonder how bad it was in closed beta, also the 2D version doesn't seem to be the focus of this inital testing due to how everything is broken, drone sprites literally turn upside down if you try to circle any alien/player.

the weirdness of the feedback collecting is something i agree but you can use a discord guest account like i've been using to lurk in there though it's just awful all around, the mods in that place are worse than chat mods ingame and that is saying something, the focus on discord it's probably because of population issues and i'd wager bp would kill off the forums for discord server like it has happened with so many other games forums even though discord itself gets beaten to a curb when compared to a forum for information handling because discord is a instant message site, not a forum, even the thread system is just terrible but discord is one of the few places that one can't raise issues when people power trip after they are banned off the server and history goes that it's not even official meaning all the people with moderating power in there basically can follow the discord moderator meme to a tee, unlike a professional community manager from a game forum
