  1. 1. Current Problem

Clan bases have remained practically unchanged since the early years of the game, while ship power, weapons, and equipment have increased dramatically over time.
As a result, the defensive capability of bases no longer matches the current combat power of modern ships.
    Currently, it is common that:
5 ships ("mosca" type — typically Goliath or similar) equipped with:
o Full Level 20 Prometheus Lasers
    o 10 Morfiferus Rocket Launchers
can destroy an entire base in a single damage combo using:
    X4 Ammo
    RSB-75 Ammo
This situation creates several major issues within the game balance.
    Main Problems

    • Clan bases no longer fulfill their intended defensive role.
    • Clans do not have enough time to react or organize a defense.
    • The resource investment required to build bases does not justify their fragility.
Because of this, clan bases have gradually lost their strategic relevance in the game.
    2. Basic Statistical Improvements

A first step toward restoring balance would be to readjust the core base statistics to reflect the current power level of ships and equipment.
    Proposed Adjustment

    Increase the following base stats:
    Hull (HP): ×3
    Shield: ×3
    Damage: ×3
    Expected Results

    This adjustment would:
    • Prevent bases from being destroyed in seconds.
    • Give clans sufficient time to respond and defend their base.
    • Require real coordination and organized attacks from enemy clans.
The goal is not to make bases indestructible, but rather to restore them as strategic objectives that require planning and teamwork to destroy.
    3. New Modules for Clan Bases

Currently, clan bases offer limited strategic mechanics. Introducing advanced defensive modules would significantly improve gameplay depth and tactical diversity.
    3.1 Cooldown Reduction Module

    Suggested Name

    Synchronization Reactor
    Function

Reduces the cooldown of ship abilities for allied ships located within a radius around the base.
    Example Values

    Effect Radius: 600–800
    Cooldown Reduction: 10–20%
    Strategic Benefit

    • Improves defensive coordination during base attacks.
    • Encourages clans to fight near their base rather than abandoning it.
    3.2 Area Damage Turret (AOE)

    Suggested Name

    Expanded Plasma Turret
    Function

A defensive weapon that deals area-of-effect damage to multiple enemy ships simultaneously.
    Characteristics

    Damage Radius: 350–500
    Moderate damage output
Can hit multiple targets at once
    Objective

    • Prevent enemies from stacking ships tightly around the base.
    • Force attackers to spread out and coordinate their positioning.
    3.3 Progressive Damage Turret

    Suggested Name

    Overcharge Cannon
    Functionality

The turret starts dealing low damage, but its output increases the longer an enemy ship remains within its range.
    Example Scaling

    Time in RangeDamage Level
    0–5 secondsLow
    5–10 secondsMedium
    10–20 secondsHigh
    20+ secondsVery High
    Strategic Benefit

    • Punishes enemies who stay too long attacking the base.
    • Encourages dynamic movement and tactical repositioning.
    4. Additional Ideas to Improve Clan Bases

Beyond statistical adjustments and new modules, additional defensive mechanics could further enhance clan base gameplay.
    4.1 Temporary Defense Field

A module capable of generating a temporary protective shield for the entire base structure.
    Example Values

    Shield Duration: 20–30 seconds
    Cooldown: 5 minutes
    Purpose

This mechanic would allow clans valuable time to arrive and organize a defense during sudden attacks.

    4.2 Slow Field

A defensive field generated around the base that weakens nearby enemy ships.
    Effects

    Reduces enemy ship speed
    Reduces enemy evasion
    Example Radius

    400–600
    Strategic Purpose

This defensive zone would make it harder for attacking ships to maneuver freely around the base, forcing them to commit more carefully to engagements and making them easier targets for base defenses and defending clan members.
    4.3 Anti-Ammunition System

A defensive module designed to reduce the damage received from high-impact special ammunition.
    Example Values

    -25% damage from RSB
    -20% damage from X4
    Strategic Benefit

This system would prevent bases from being instantly destroyed through burst-damage combos, which are currently common in large coordinated attacks.
By mitigating the most powerful ammunition types, bases would gain greater survivability and tactical depth during sieges.
    4.4 Automatic Defensive Drones

Small automated drones deployed by the base to assist in defense.
    Functions

    Patrol the base perimeter
    Attack nearby enemy ships
    Characteristics

    Low individual damage
    Large quantity of drones
    Strategic Purpose

Rather than acting as primary damage dealers, these drones would harass and pressure attacking ships, forcing enemies to deal with constant interference while attempting to destroy the base.
    4.5 Siege Mode

When the base receives significant burst damage within a short period of time, it automatically activates a defensive protocol.
    Effects

    • The base enters defense mode
    Turret damage increases
    • A temporary shield boost is activated
    Duration

    30–60 seconds
    Strategic Benefit

This mechanic prevents bases from being destroyed instantly during sudden burst attacks, while still allowing coordinated fleets to eventually break through with sustained pressure.
    5. Benefits of These Improvements

Implementing these changes in DarkOrbit would provide several important gameplay improvements:
Clan bases would regain strategic relevance within the game.
Clan wars would become more tactical and coordinated.
Small groups would no longer be able to destroy bases in seconds.
New defensive mechanics would introduce deeper strategic gameplay.
Overall, these improvements would transform clan bases from fragile structures into meaningful strategic objectives, encouraging more engaging large-scale battles between clans.
