Uncertain rank

    I've been playing Dark Orbit since 2013. After a few years, I reached the rank of Major Chief, then gradually my rank dropped to Captain, never rising or falling. Last week, however, I dropped back to Subordinate Captain. QUESTION: Why does this happen? Could it be because there are players who started playing in 2024 (among other things, among the top 100 players) and already have ranks of General or Colonel? How is it possible for these players to reach such high ranks? Perhaps their ships are online 24/7? Do these players sleep? Or are they always connected to Dark Orbit? Not that I care much about the rank, but I'd like to know how such magic is possible?
