10 year anniversary event feedback

Event missions as a rule are only available once you reach level 6, as you have only just started playing you may not have reached the minimum level to do event missions.

i did this in a goli, with just heart formation on, and had 40 secs to spare at the end. i flew to the first cords, jump cpu'd to the next map for the cords, then flew to the last map. it is possible to do.

 

With the run up to the birthday galaxy gate we have a series of icy missions and to unlock the next days icy mission you must finish the outstanding icy mission, this brings up a point that was given as feed back in last years winter event and that is the time that icy's are available. Last year icy's appeared from 19.30 hrs till 22.00 hours on a daily basis during prime time and this was the main concern voiced in the forum in last years feedback thread as many players were unable to to do any icy missions because the time window did not fit with modern working hours. This year so far icy's have only appeared every other day and the weekday time slot is now 17.00 hrs till 19.00 hours this is a reduction of 1/2 a hour a day not only as the time been reduced the time window as become less player friendly. With the run up till Christmas workloads increase and people work longer hours and cannot be online for the new time slot. Players who have 9 till 5 jobs have to travel and with the pre Christmas rush hours also find it difficult to log in to do icy's. There are also many players that work in the service industry and emergency services and there is also an increased workload. The new time slot is a backward step and shows a disregard to player feedback and is proof that player feedback is not being listened to and taken seriously.

 

As I read the Event FAQ for this Winter Event I appreciate the "seems fair reward system" for the Demaner Hunt even though it will be my first time to do this event as I just came back playing this year (just after nano event). But as what I know this event is like the Hitac Event where everyone can shoot down these motherships what ever company you were and we all know that some of the players are not only there for these aliens but also to hunt down other players specially the weaker ones whose participating in this event and some just do it to control the event just for themselves/ their clans/MCCs. This is a common issue especially to the servers with lower player population. Maybe Darkorbit should consider on solving this problem as this is one of the reason why some players quit the game.

Overall the event seems fine (except for the lag of GE1 and other affected servers and this upcoming Demaner Hunt in which the result would be predictable)

 

Even with the couple of glitches in the event, I say 'Well Done DarkOrbit with the winter event' ! It's still interesting and fun.

 

there is a problem in the shop, cant buy any B- 02 booters. i get this message: This item is only available during certain events. Please try again during the next event.

 

why the refractions symbol doesnt show up?

 

There is so much lag in gates that is insane, my pet stuck in kame, NPC freeze every 2 seconds GE1 user ID 168253145
I don't understand why you add these features if players can't use them cause of lag and/or bugs ?
That means GE1 players won't be able to finish gates ?
I think it is time DO to finally give information to players about that lag problem since game is unplayable read again GAME IS UNPLAYABLE !! Gates are cool but UNPLAYABLE !!. Everything is great about new ship updates and lasers and new shields are great. But game is UNPLAYABLE !!

It is not fair to not be able to play game. Please fix that.

Update: Now I can't even establish connection to the game and I have ASUS ROG G751JY so it is not my PC problem, my every software is up to date and Java, browser and every other web cache is cleaned, router is restarted, connection is checked for package lost etc. etc.

 

Ladies and Gentlemen, i present you the Darkorbit 10th birthday event:

- Some payment packages not there / not working
- GE1 already unplayable because of lag at 13:00
- No cross-server, which was supposed to be the biggest thing in this event
- Various bugs with missions
- Timer gets sometimes stuck at 0:00 when building new Goliath-x designs
- No sign of the new PET / Drone designs
- Most people cant see Cold Wave gate
- Event boxes with ice rockets have been on maps throughout the event, giving botters a massive advantage

I dont think any other company could mess an event up this bad in any game even if they tried.

 

I actually don't care about bugs they are part of every game. But not being able to play game is a big problem and they don't even tell us what is the problem just asking for HAR files. Is it DDOS is it problem with old coding is there problem with server speeds ? Why other servers work normal ? Why you can't check codes from other servers and see where is the problem in couple servers that don't work?

 

Is it the shared boosters? If you have any they might show for you so you can track time remaining but not actually be available for purchase yet.

It's not ready yet

As for the lag issues - the dev team are already well aware of it. It's something they're investigating as apparently the issue goes beyond just the code. That's really the most recent update we have on it, and yes they asked for HAR files to help investigate where the issue was.

They could do a server restart before Ice Meteoroids starts so we could at least enjoy that. On the other hand, if they don't do anything we won't be able to play until tomorrow

Edit: Now I can't even get into the game because of the lag, and the last login seems to have been unsuccessful because I can't edit anything in hangar. Any suggestions?

 

why are a lot of people raving about the event missions, the same ones staying even after completed, some you can't do again some you can, previous years were a lot better.

 

Event might be nice if the damn server worked!

 

No it won't i have 4 quests i can't do also no cold gate hard or easy no cross server today like was suppose to be, trying not to be so negative but today was suppose to be special but the only thing that works is the event calendar.

 

Im really sad because of this event.. what they promissed cold wave and cross server are nowhere or buggy... actually BP should spend more time with testing and bugfixing.. not with creating more useless designs for players money like new tartarus designs

Cold wave just has a hiccup, namely for those who completed it last year. & Cross server is still coming, it hasn't even released yet >.<

As far as lag issues on GE/GA servers - this is known and they have people on it trying to figure out where the problem is. As I said above, apparently it is something that isn't just some coding issue so there's more that has to be gone through and checked out. In the meantime there's not much more we can suggest to resolve it locally on your end

i have issues with cold wave gate on my new acc (didnt completed last year's cold wave), and on my old acc too (where i completed last year's cold wave)

 

Like i said, namely - it's not limited to. & depending on your level for the newer account, check that as well because some of the reports I've gone through today weren't high enough level for both gates to appear

In either case, hopefully tomorrow's expected fix sorts it up for everyone
