A request of a new type of Aegis.

Through my years of playing many MMO's I have come to the conclusion that one of the most needed and most accessible thing is to heal yourself or another player. Now I understand that DO does have the pet repairer and combo repair and even the fast repair at base. Also we have the new ship Aegis which has again a lot of repairing abilities. Now this is what I think when I see the price tag on the shop and uridium page, "Oh MY GOD sooo costly". Now in my own opinion I always felt that the main part of any game is to help others, not only yourself. That's why many people who can't shoot down a sibelon or even a devolarim will love to instead choose to heal other players who can kill it. In the game World Of Warcraft, you can choose to have restoration spells. In Pirates of the carribean online we had a vodoo doll which used to cure people when attuned. So all i'm saying is that HEALING is a very essential part of any game and it should not be underestimated.

I understand very well that Darkorbit obviously has to have a tough game experience in order to challenge player skills, but the price tag on the aegis is a bit too harsh. No, i'm not asking for a reduction in price. Instead I am asking for a smaller variant of aegis with a few repairing abilities. A few abilities which I can recommend are:

- Shield charger: Repairs the shields at a rate of 10000 per second for upto 4 seconds. Cooldown time: 30 seconds.
- Hp charger: Repairs the hull at a rate of 5000 per second for 10 seconds. Cool down time: 40 seconds

You can choose to decrease or increase both cool down times and the amount each skill gives, that is Bigpoints choice.

I recommend the ship specs:
- 6 laser slots.
- 7 generator slots.
- 1 rocket launcher slot.
- 2 extras slot.
- 9500 batteries.
- 950 rockets.
- 165k Hull (+ bio gives about 215k total)
- 2 skills
- A price tag of about 80k uridium. Obviously we can't expect a low price tag, but this is a much better price than an aegis....

Easy pop, that's only if your a complete and utter noob, people can fight a Goliath in a ubfe phoenix. Remember, drones, pets and nothing else is restricted only the ship is. So I can tell you yes, for some time it will be easy to pop, but later it wouldn't be and anyway it's more of an npc ship, aegis is a hunting/npc ship. I'm only wanting this ship to come for npc's mainly.

Oh and I forgot to add another ship spec: Speed which I think should be 350 or 360. I mean basic physics is a good-powered engine with a lighter weight than aegis is obviously going to propel a ship faster.

 

Sounds like you're asking for a " beginner's aegis " at a more affordable price if i have read your thread correctly. Not a bad idea for newbie players although the stats do seem a little weak @ 145k hps . I think the first 3 abilitys would be the best used as this is what is on offer for the full price, fully spec aegis .. seeing as your main focus is on the price of the ship in general.

 

Well, I do understand that the ship is a bit but it was intentional. Here's a question, Do you think Darkorbit will give you A really strong ship with aegis functions? No. Of course not. Though now thinking about it I think one stat which can be increased and since again i'm referring to some physics here is that due to the lower mass of the ship the speed should be at 395 (+70 from generators to make it 445) which will be ideal for... um... running away

 

I personally like the aegis the way it is! But they are cool ideas.

 

This ship has 2 skills when you listed like 6 skills you want it to have? Why would a better version of the Aegis be released that was cheaper, never mind the crappy lasers and generators, this thing has like 7 repair abilities. Just because another game has it doesn't mean DO should although it already does, it's call the Aegis.

It's not easy to attain but it's worth saving for, it can be valuable for just about anything, from hunting to gates and Npc's and outfit hunting, why buy this when you would already have 80k uridium saved towards a real Aegis, it's much cheaper to go for the Aegis outright then waste your time with this.

 

I was kinda thinking dam UFE aegis and FE aegis already REMOVED me off enough with the reping crap i would like to still be able to hunt with x-2 even if that is mean xD

 

Don't get mad because I downed the idea, I read the post clearly, you said the ship would have 2 skills and yet you suggested like 6 different skills, which would be and not be on the ship, besides that what makes this better then just saving for the real Aegis?

Copying from other game's might get BP sued lol, just because something is good on one game doesn't mean it will be on another, even as a free player and apparent noob, if you could save 80k, you should be able to save 250k, if your suggesting that I'm a WW or Ufe then your completely wrong. Well, anyway.... you got a few points correct, but anyway let me see if I can change it a bit.

 

The issue with this is that the aegis is a special ship. It's very, very good and thus is very expensive. Sometimes, you just have to save for the expensive things man. What will come next is a not so good citadel and then downward through the ships. I know you're frustrated, but it took me months and months to save up for my aegis. It builds character I'd say start saving.

I love this idea, considering the low guns and generators slots would it be possible to add a few more to the extras slots??

A smaller version couldn't hurt.
It all depends on the pilot.

 

Well, think about it...Aegis is elite ship, for elite players, not for newbies..so everi elite player can farm uri to buy it, it's just matter of time...The idea of the game is to develop your account, so this get's time..no need everything to come fast, because 80 k uri these days are nothing....Of course this is my opinion, but i think, that the game don't need the ship, suggested by OP.

 

Oh dude, this game needs options and variety in a bad way.
I like this idea for that reason.

 

Well, scrap the whole idea lol. Aegis is going to auction. Everyone gets the ship, spend like a 100 mil creds later and you get it too. Having a smaller version is now stupid because your getting the real one for almost nothing
