Ability to take ship/account to any chosen server.?

I know the chances are slim, but I thought it would be a good idea if we had the ability/option to be able to take our ship to any chosen server that we choose. The majority of us are paying to play and to set up another account and pay and play all over again is not realistic and unfair.
For example, if i'm on gb1 and wish to go to gb2, it would be good to take my ship that i have spent time and effort to get to an advanced level of skill so I could play elsewhere if I choose. The hall of fame shows players in order of how many points they have accrued over the whole time that they have played on a particular server and where they are on the leader board, but these lists are altered and changed when players leave the rank table or climb and fall through the list of top players anyway. I'm sure most players would like to see this option. Another point to make about this idea, is that some players get bullied and leave the game. The option to be able to move your ship/account to any server would benefit those players too. As for the high paying players, they would still have there places dependent on who is in the server at that time. Just a thought and feedback welcome. thanks

 

Been suggested for years. People been asking to do this for years as well when they picked the wrong server and spent a week and a couple hundred on the game and ended up finding out that their friends actually play a different server.

I am personally not against it but it has been denied.

But I don't know why it is a hassle to do a server change. It is not hard at all to do. Just go to the database, find the users table in the database and find the value for Server the server. Change it and it is done.

 

i play gb1 and i didn't realise how much id spent on the game until recently and i been starting a ship on gb2 . so thought id mention the idea as im reluctant to spend more money on another account just for the priviledge of chatting to different people. although all maps are virtually the same in every server, it would be good for a change of scenery so to speak

 

I wonder if this happens then which server is gonna get overloaded, hhmm I would go to the least popular server just to do my PvE quests in peace

 

Hmmm, this suggestion is the same as a (Character transfer) on World of Warcraft which has to be payed for with real cash £££. A good idea indeed, imagine how much £££ BP would make from this service? Not even sure why they have not implemented this already? Seems to me all they concentrate on is offering a pee poor performance for maximum profit!

 

from the sounds of it, there are no servers which are too active anyway, and if this idea was possible (and overload of number of people on a particular server could be an issue) then they could have a maximum limit to the number of people to each server. just an idea, that's all
it would be good if they did this as a free service too, as being able to jump to a different server with our ships that we have paid for would mean more freedom to socialize with others from around the world, thus making the game more fun and likely draw people back into the game.

 

My problem is that some of the same ppl that ruined the game on their current dead servers would b able to ruin others. Why else do u think their servers are dead to begin with?

If they gotta ruin another server i say make em start from scratch or pay real money to ruin another.

 

from what i understand, the reason why some servers are inactive is mainly down to expense and limited game play, and people losing interest. not everyone can afford multiple accounts. and dreadlok, you refer to people ruining the game. in what way.?
