Account sharing ?!

You can still use one but it's basically an announcement to say it's not going to be safe with using one anymore.

It used to be that if a player was questioned about account sharing they could just say "oh it was a VPN" and that would be the end of the conversation unless the player had admitted to it in chat.

I think you will be fine as long as they have no reason to be looking into your account for suspicious activity in the first place.

 

I play from all different places sometimes when I am hundreds of miles from home. So I think you will be fine playing from school or work or any different place.

 

I'm going to move to a different part of the world soon. Should I contact support and tell them.

This statement about VPNs makes me wonder if a certain player on USA East 1 who was allegedly banned for account sharing and later reinstated used the VPN excuse. Maybe DO getting wise to things finally. They are giving fair warning.

 

they say in their terms that family members can all play just not share accounts if you and your brother play in same household it will be same IP DO knows this. the only problem you would run into is if you let your brother play your account.

This also could be a way for them to clean up all those venezuela accounts that people are exploiting for cheaper uri. i would think they would not like losing all that money. Heck from what i hear its they lose 2 dollars american for every dollar spent 333k uri cost 99$ american but with venezuela account its only about 30$ american. i would figure if people got their hands in DOs pockets that bad they would take measures.

I think its more aimed at the ones that live in separate households that share the same account which in other games is called piloting and against the rules in any game i've played.

I can't see DO saying that using a VPN is against the rules but abusing it and using it as an excuse yeah i can see that. There are to many features to a VPN that i feel it would be wrong for DO to say we can't use them like privacy, stop your isp from throttling, actually defends you when people try to use scripts against you. How a VPN does this i don't know but thats just some of the features of the VPN i subscribe to and it works you ever get attacked and it locks you up you can move happened to me a few times haven't seen it since i subscribed to a VPN service.

 

this is a bad move by bigpoint... what aload of rubbish, alot of players use vpn to avoid being ddosed in events like the jackpot arena, a few month ago i got ddossed in jpa and got poped off some noob, hence why i use a vpn, it is unfair that people will get punished for trying to protect themselves

 

I don't think you should look at it like a ban on VPNs, it's more of a statement that if you screw around on the game and share accounts or such, don't play the VPN card as an excuse.
