Action for newbs

  1. okay so what if we all have a win win situation? an event or something to blow everyone minds everyone also gets some fun
    I was wondering if we could have an event where we could all choose our own ships, choose our own weapons and ammo, and basically have limited of points to get what we want , so our ship would become near UFE, this would stay in the event, not your DO career. Then you can battle other players who started out the same but probably chose different things, for example, a person chose a pnut into action, it will cost him 1 point, but he chose lf4s which cost him like 100 points each, but he vs a goli which costs 200 point and he only gets to put on mp1s, his design would cost extra too.. and each flax is 300 points and each iris is 500 points. (these are in prototype stage until I get more ppl to hop on with the idea) people would prob start with like 25,000 points


    Then the event would be like training arena (TA), but slightly bigger, and you have limited of time to equip the things u need. Or... there could be a new tab for this event where you can pre set up everything. Then the match would begin and you would fight. This could be an anytime thing such as TA, and maybe even replace TA? but then again this could be a big event like spaceball, however the players would receive there own rewards, not by company.

    There is a problem with this idea though, how would BP even make money, how would UFE players benefit? how would noob players benefit? well BP doesn't need to make money, they know that since you are all spending your time testing the near UFE ship in this game/event that it advertises you to buy some nice stuff for your real game. UFE players can benefit because there could be a reward system, say as if someone wins a certain amount they can earn something neat like x4 or a new design for the arena c; or title, some seprom and rarely a booster so this basically does cover paragraph 2. Then of course the nooblets, noobier less near ufe players can play and be amazed and maybe inspired to buy and make BP money.. and they can test out weapons (this could replace all the players during opened testing server) plus the noob players can, and then would be able to stop complaining about how they have UFE shooting at them all the time, because this would be an even playing field for both, the UFE knows how to fight, but then the noobs can learn and become better faster.

    in conclusion, BP wins, noobs wins, UFE wins. everyone is happy, but to put this idea into play would be harder, please do have fun, create ideas and keep up the inspiration c;
     
  2. While reading this I thought of Call of Duty, how it has pre made classes in its multiplayer.

    From what I got from this is there would be an arena, we go in and choose a class (ie; tank (cit, mostly shields, less dmg / medic; aegis moderate dmg / moderate shields / assault; goli, mostly dmg, low shields) or soemthing of that sort, we pick a class then go into the arena and fight. Now a full on pvp arena where everyone just fights everyone or this could be an occasional ..I believe TeamDeathMatch (TDM, i mean the event where vru / mmo / eic fight 1 company vs 1 company). Invasion has an alternate (pirates and normal) so why not give TDM (at least I think its TDM) an alternate.

    Or we start with a set amount of points (you said 25,000 but just throwing numbers around) and each item (lf4/lf3/bo2/goli/ etc [everything in the game]) has a set price based on points though, not cost (ie 10k uri could equal 500 points or something). I also thought of the Test Servers as I read this, the way you start with so much uridium everytime to test something new. Instead of starting with uridium, here you start with points to buy equipment.

    In my opinion the idea isnt bad, its something new and could get a liking to new (and/or) smaller players to want to play the game more since they could possibly see how it is to be stronger.

  4. Ive played a long time, the fundamentals on which D.O. thrive and depend on would be non existent in this event. Dont get me wrong i love it and it sounds like alot of fun but - the fundamentals im talking about is impulse spending.

    Guy gets sick of being popped by same player/clan so he spends cash to get stronger and take revenge.

    D.O. will not facilitate this, i'd put my wages on it. Theres no effect for B.P. just people having fun, no money to be made if players are having fun with free gear.

    In essence they rely on unhappy players, unhappy because their account needs more power/gear to keep up with updates/enemies.

    Look around next time an event is on, crazy cubes are the worst time for non uber players, but best for B.P. as this entails impulse buying. If you are happy you wont spend, or already have everything in the game.

    The demaner freighter in my opinion was designed to encourage more buying, where ubers dominated the event everytime.
     
  5. The exact reason why the opposite can be found and made, the same way. I pointed out where as a noob can test out weapons, IE you go to a firing range to shoot and test out guns, if you like it, you can buy it with real money elsewhere. In this case noobs can test out weapons of their choice with, or without these so given points. Perhaps you are right about DO/BP making us sad and that's how they get their money, but DO can change, it is Darkorbit RELOADED!!! not the old DO I use to know, who knows what is behind that mountain, lets just climb it and hope for the best on the other side.
