This is my first post, a brand new player of 1 week.
I am trying to work through the quests to develop my ship. I have managed to get a leo cheap on auction - got some lf3's and some speed gens and shields - I spent £20 on MHH to buy some bits and pieces, like better repair bot and automatic repair etc. I have managed to complete some simple quests - but what I cant understand is why on earth are big ships with loads of blue and red drones picking on us new players - in the x3 and x4 maps?
The quests themselves only pay about 40 uri and it costs far more to repair than you can make on the quests. I want to play the game, I enjoy doing so. But I am completely fed up of every time I leave the portal to start my quests - someone is there to kill you in one or two shots. Even if I only go a short distance from the gate - I get killed before I can get back to it.
It has reached the stage that in almost a week, I am ready for packing it in as a waste of time. My questions are:
1/. Is it normal for strong enemy ships to fill the x3 and x4 maps just for easy kills. Its not just me, when I repair at the nearest gate -there are loads of other new players all appearing at the same time.
2/. Are we being encouraged to join this game just for the big ships to use as target practice?
3/. Am I doing something wrong, missing something here - or is just the way the game is - you cant develop because other players wont let you? Lets face it, what is the point of a little leo with a couple of LF3s even trying to play when there are Goliaths with 10 red or blue drones just waiting to kill you

ssku this is a pvp game, so you should be ready for pvp. u could either wait til midnight or something and go to x3 and x4 maps or just farm in x2 maps until u get stronger. It is normal for strong enemy ships to fill x3 and x4. No, you are not being encouraged to be target practice for bigger ships. You just need to work ur way up. And lastly, u shouldn't have spent £20 on some cpu and repair bot... u can get them cheap in auction for a mil each :p

if you are going to spend on the game ,get premium .will save the cost off the uri to repair.
and to answer the question about bigger ships popping you ,there are allways players who need the ego boost off popping smaller weaker ships ,just to sayb they have popped x amount off ships .

Try getting your level up to 12 then going to the uppers. If you go to 1-7 and kill kristallin or get help on bigger npcs its safer. In your own uppers there should be stronger ships then in the lowers. I know on my server when enemies come to our lowers no one seems to care. If you go to the uppers a leo won't help you anymore so you should buy a vengeance or goliath.

  6. GB1 is one of the older servers where everyone is out for pvp. If you come to a newer server like USA East 3, then you'd stand a chance because my server is dead. It's once in a great while when an enemy X-3 map gets raided, and it's usually by me.

correct forgot about that ,replied to the op comment about it costing uri

  8. I think the OP is repairing on port rather than getting knocked down to x-1 map. So his solution would be to stop paying to repair at port and repairing for free in his x-1 map. It takes longer to get back to quests but it's much cheaper than what he's doing. Or get premium by the month and all repairs would be free.

  10. this is pvp game, what u expect? dude we all were noobs and got killed by enemys like u do, but we got stronger and i am personaly almost best player on server, other's say i use autolock while i have big locking skills what i have build up by getting my oulaw's honour back in x-2. btw if you wan't join global america 4 and i will help u out with quests and npc's so u can get up faster.

And that's why I stopped playing. Because there are far more super-powerful players running around then there used to be. "We were all noobs at one point?" That may be true, but there is so many more buffed up war machines now then there were when the game first started, and so that statement is invalid. It's a nice way of saying, "I had to go through it, now you have to go through it tenfold." Ever wonder why the only people who defend them is the people who cause the bottleneck in the first place? And they're so very quick to defend their "position." My advice to you, pal- Go find a different game or a different hobby. This one ain't gonna do you justice.

  13. Its anoying.
    Whats the point of that?
cant you do some barrier for week for new players?

  14. This has been a problem DO hasn't fix since the day this game was release, they will only tell you this is a "PVP" game and that it's totally normal to die, just to avoid the question.

The game has improve a bit for new players (free lf3s, 10k uri, free 2 week premium) you get all that as you do your new player quests, before all that, the new players where only given 5k uridiums and nothing more, just a phoenix ship.

I would suggest you try and get the premium for a month, it's the best thing you can buy as a new players since the repairs when you get destroyed are totally free if you are premium.

Also, try to bid on the goliath or vengeance as they are the best ships to escape from enemy players, the leonov is a good one too for lower maps.

Do the quests that give the more exp on lower maps and then when you get to level 11 go to x-6 or x-7, and kill kristallins there.

Upgrade your skylab everytime you can and send ores to your ship too so you get credits from it.

    Good luck.

  15. dark orbit has made it easier for new players so when they die its free reps ^^ anyways don't expect to not die, I know somoene who has died over 2,000 times in 2 months LOL

Build up your skylab, that way you can get all those LF-3's and BO2's and Iris drones for free.

  16. DO has already made it much easier for the noobs, just learn to survive then build urself up to defend and eventually hunt. We have all gone thru it, back when the servers were fuller it was almost impossible to make it out of ur x-1 map without gettin popped. DO has been catering to the noobs for quite a while now its almost to the point of not being a pvp game anymore. If the pvp is too much for you, try farmville or some other non pvp game.

  17. Hello SSKU1 If you need help at all on GB1 give me a buzz i'm always up for helping new players just get hold of me ingame, dont let this get you down, you will eventually become stronger it takes time and it is really unfair and unbalanced but if you need the helps it's there, just ask.

This is my name on GB1 so if you need me just drop a whisper, what are your main playing times?

I'll have to disagree with the fools that have said Darkorbit made it easier for noobs, maybe to get FE yes but what's after that? 3 years of getting slaughtered in a vain attempt to get Ufe. Find a good clan to defend you and help you build :).

  19. Invest in some speed gens and/or a fast ship like venge then you can run away to the portal if a cloaker comes.

  20. I would suggest quitting.

If you really want to stay I suggest buying a Vengeance and constantly staying aware of your surroundings.

All the people who say PVP PVP PVP are just ignorant that it ruins the game when these new players feel pressured.
