    I'll keep it simple:
Get rid of the security check from the auction page.
In the last minute I and A LOT of players bid on everything we want. Unfortunately, waiting for the last 15 seconds before bidding on the most desired item was what most of us players used to do until this ridiculous security check came into play.

Get rid of it, it's not needed, wastes time and made so many players lose the bid for that hour/day/week.

    Tarron and -AdamantiumDragon- like this.
  2. You are absolutely right about that. It's only for hindrance.

    Thumbs up from me. ;)

It is needed, it prevents programs from putting in mass bids at the last second and winning everything. It only appears if you are bidding on a lot of items during a short time period, which only effects a small number of players.

If you want to be in the last 15 seconds then just bid early and enter the code at the last 15 seconds.

There's no way to tell when the code thingy is required or not. I wouldn't want to risk bidding early just to lose by 10k to another player. Within the last few seconds I place the bid, then pop appears the 'security' code requirement. My bid doesn't go through. Instead I have to fill in the code , thereafter refresh the auction page and bid again only to find I've missed the item.

I really don't see why it should exist. So what if players bid a lot during a short span of time. In the end they obtain the items through their own credits. Nothing wrong with that and the end justifies the means.

Until the devs find a way to detect if a bid is sent by a player from his backpage or by an automatic bidder, this captcha must stay in place. I usually bid on very few items, boosters and cloak cpus, and i try to get each at different auctions, one item at a time. I've actually never seen the captcha code, so for me it isn't a problem at all.

    So...thumbs down :p

    Automatic bidder?

A piece of software that places lots of bids for the player, all in just a few seconds.

  8. and its even worse now that u get credits back cos no matter what the program has bin set to bid they will rather win the item or get there credits back

I figured as much. All it takes is for the BP team to 'find' this programme and have it blocked. It isn't impossible or even close to that.

All it is to 'normal' bidders is a hindrance.

It's not that easy as you may think. Let me tell you an example. Let's say i write you a letter, i put your moms name on the sender field, you couldn't tell who wrote it, just by the writing style or by aking your mom. But here, in the game, there's no writing style to recognize, and if you ask a user if he uses an automatic bidder he will deny it.
The problem isn't finding the program, is identifying the bid requests that come from it, from the ones that come from a user pushing the "Bid" button in the auction house. That's why captcha is a good measure against this bidding bots, because for you, as a human it's easy to read that distorted text, but for a computer it's near to impossible to do so.

One thing they could have done was to find the programme and legally have it closed.
Many other options too but they've simply used the cheapest option and introduced a hindrance for 'clean' players.
I concede, mod close it. This thread isn't going to get anywhere.

  12. I have never seen the security code.

  13. I have never seen a security code when in auction... And on another server i had placed a bid on almost every single thing.

Security code??? Sorry if I sound like a noob but what is that?

I tried bidding today. It seems they've removed it.
    Too late to screenshot it.
    All the better, case closed.

  16. Easy my behind i have to refresh captchas a few times before i can read em half of the time :p
That being said, i've never seen a security code for bidding or, for that matter, knew it existed until now. Can't be a frequent occurance so if you've gotten it mroe than once you must be doing something the server doesn't like

I myself havn't seen it at all, so it's not an inconvenience for me, but i see lots of players complaining about it. If it were for me, it could stay in place forever :D

this is how captcha pop out :D
if you bid on many items at same time. so more than 5 items and captcha will pop out.
